Blaine was missing Kurt especially one Tuesday as Sebastian was bitching to him about how he was late to pick him up for school that day.
“How many times do I have to tell you to be on time. My mom won’t let you pick me up if you are going to be late. Seriously, Blaine. It’s annoying. Are you even listening to me?” Sebastian rambled as Blaine stared down at his coffee, stirring it for the 300th time.
“Yep.”
“No, you’re not.”
“Seb, do you ever think we should be more spontaneous?”
“What are you talking about?”
“Never mind.” Blaine contunied to stir his coffee. What he wouldn’t give to talk to Kurt again. Or Wes. Or David. Or pretty much anyone but Sebastian, right now. He was focusing on drowning out Sebastian until he heard-
“...Kurt.”
“What did you say?”
“I said there’s that jerk from a few weeks ago. I think his name was Kurt or something... you never really explained-”
Blaine looked over and sure enough, there was Kurt in line for coffee. He still didn't know how he'd mistaken him for Sebastian, they looked nothing alike. Sebastian was tall and almost too skinny. Kurt wore elaborate outfits and had a way more muscular build.
“It was just a misunderstanding. Hey, lets go.” Blaine was happy to see Kurt, but not with Sebastian.
“Why, Babe. I’m not even done my- oh my god why are you staring at him?”
Blaine peeled his eyes off of Kurt for a second to see his seething boyfriend across from him. “I was just... making sure he doesn’t...see us.”
“I don’t care if he does. Anyways, like I was saying before, I think we should do that new Katy Perry song for Glee club this week.”
“ET? That is a terrible song.”
“Shut up. I like it, Babe. I sound great in the shower when I sing it,” Sebastian reached over to grab Blaine’s hand, as some sort of loving gesture. Blaine’s lips curled up as he pictured his boyfriend in the shower, but the fantasy quickly faded when he saw Kurt approaching the table out of the corner of his eye.
“Well well well, what have we got here?” He joked, winking at Blaine. But Sebastian didn’t find it funny.
“It looks to me like some creep with nothing better to do is intruding on a couples date. Doesn’t it Blaine?”
Blaine didn’t respond.
Kurt’s cocky smile faded. He lowered his eyebrows and sounded serious for the first time since Blaine had met him, “Creep? Since when is being friendly creepy? I mean, not that you would know. Since you don’t seem to have a nice bone in your body.”
“Can both of you stop it?” Blaine said, raising his voice a little louder than expected. A few people from around The Lima Bean glanced over at them and Blaine smiled and nodded towards them until they looked away.
“What did I do?” Sebastian whined.
“You have no reason to be rude to Kurt, Seb. He didn’t do anything.”
“Since when are you on his side?”
“It’s okay, Blaine.” Kurt said. “I appreciate you standing up for me, but Timon here doesn’t seem like he’s going to change his views on me so I’ll just leave. Sorry for interrupting.”
“What the fuck is Timon?” Sebastian sneered.
“Timon? The meerkat from The Lion King. You actually resemble him in more ways than one. Anyways, nice to see you again, Blaine.”
Kurt walked away before Sebastian could say anything else. Blaine chuckled to himself at the meerkat comment, but Sebastian caught him and he immediately stiffened up.
“I really hate that guy.”
“I think he’s funny.”
“Yeah well, you better never talk to him again.”
“Okay, Sebastian. Whatever you say.” Blaine rolled his eyes and looked past Sebastian to catch one last look at Kurt. He knew it wasn’t much, but Kurt would be proud of him for standing up against Sebastian. It was one step towards being more spontaneous. And this definitely was not the last time he would be talking to Kurt, he was sure of this.
