“I told you,” Kurt said while carefully putting his tight pants back on.
“Yeah, yeah,” Blaine took his phone out of his pants pocket as he put them on and glanced at the screen. “Shit.”
“What?”
“Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. SHIT.”
“Oh, that explains everything,” Kurt said sarcastically, and walked over to look at Blaine’s phone. “I don’t see anything.”
“You don’t? How about that it’s 2:30 and school’s been over for 15 minutes,”
“Oh...” Kurt’s voice lowered.
“Sebastian.” Blaine and Kurt jumped in the car without another word. Blaine didn’t even have his shirt fully on yet and he struggled to get his arm through the hole as he slammed the door shut. “You’ll have to direct me where to go!”
Kurt helped Blaine get back to a street that he was familiar with and the rest of the ride he let Blaine panic about how ‘screwed’ he was.
“Ugh I should have kept track of time, I’m so stupid. I don’t blame you, this was my idea,”
“Blaine,”
“What!?” Blaine yelled but it was more out of hysterics than anger.
“Breathe,” Blaine took a breath and let Kurt bring him down from his panic attack. Kurt grabbed his thigh and talked to him in a calm low voice, “You’re going to drop me off and then drive directly to Dalton and pick Sebastian up. If he asks where you were all day tell him it’s none of his business or lie about something- then drive him home and everything will be fine.”
“But what if he wants to stay at my house again?”
“Easy, don’t let him. I know you feel like it but... you’re not responsible for him, Blaine.”
Blaine knew that, but he still felt like Sebastian was his problem to deal with. He knew Sebastian would overreact if he found out that he’d been with Kurt all day, especially with the lack of clothes they were wearing. Blaine ran the scenarios of what could go wrong through his head until he reached McKinley High.
“You’ll be fine, ” Kurt grabbed the back of Blaine’s neck and pulled him in for a kiss which sent a relaxing shiver down Blaine’s spine. “Call me tonight, okay?”
“Okay,” And with that Kurt was gone.
Blaine drove to Dalton in record time. It was a Monday and there wasn’t any Warblers practice that day, so Sebastian would have realized that Blaine wasn’t at school by then. Blaine expected Sebastian to be waiting on one of the benches outside but he was nowhere to be seen. There were a few other uniformed boys in front of the school that Blaine knew so he rolled his window down and shouted to them.
“Hey, have any of you seen Sebastian? Do you know where he is?”
Most of the boys were silent but one shouted a response back, “He was here for a while but then someone picked him up.”
Oh, Blaine thought, I feel bad... but he’s probably mad enough at me that he won’t be bothering me for a while.
On the drive home Blaine came up with an excuse for being late, even though he could probably just say he had Warblers practice and his mom would never know the difference. He’d just say that he was tutoring Trent again and there would be no problem. He smiled a little, feeling self assured that he’d actually gotten away with skipping, but the smile faded when his house came into view.
Standing on the lawn in his front yard was his Mother, across from her was Sebastian and a tall, burly man in an expensive looking business suit. Blaine knew who it was before he even saw the face. As he entered the driveway he immediately was bombarded with the loud booming voice that the man was aiming pointedly at his Mother.
“-and I don’t think it’s any of your damn business, woman, what goes on at our house. Or how I handle my son.”
“Do you think I asked to have him come to my house looking for somewhere to stay? If it wasn’t for YOU not being able to handle him-”
“I CAN handle him. He needs to learn how to -”
“You can’t kick a 16 year old out with no where to go, what is wrong with you?”
Blaine got out of the car and slowly walked over to his mother. “W-what’s going on?” he said nervously.
“Oh great, the other little twink is back,”
Instead of defending her son, Blaine’s Mom turned her attention from Sebastian’s father to him.
“And where the HELL were you?”
Everyone was staring at Blaine, waiting for his response.
“I- I had to tutor Trent... a-and he needed to get something from his house first so i-”
Sebastian cut in, “You weren’t at school today.” He was wearing his customary smirk, satisfied with himself. He knew Blaine had been with Kurt, he called his father on purpose.
“I don’t even have a class with you. You have no idea where I was.”
Before Sebastian could offer a rebuttal, his father spoke up. “I don’t give a fuck where anyone was- I don’t want you two seeing each other again. I don’t want you at this house again or I’m pulling you out of that prep school.” He was speaking directly to Sebastian then, “When I tell you to leave it’s because you need to learn a lesson. I ought to take you out now, there’s too many boys at that fucking school.”
“It’s an all boys school,” Blaine’s mom scoffed. Blaine looked at her, surprised, and Sebastian’s father turned his heated glare to her.
“And if you or your son comes near mine again I’ll take your ass to court,”
“Oh really?” She said, not shaken at all by his comment. “Because I could get you thrown in jail for child abuse before you could even think of what to charge me with. How about you find a better way to deal with your song being gay?”
Blaine hardly ever heard his Mom actually say the word ‘gay’ out loud. Freshman year, when he told her that he thought he was gay, she had practically ignored him. She told him not to tell his father, and the subject never came up again. When Sebastian started coming around the house she only asked him once and he informed her that they were dating. They both kept the secret from Blaine’s Dad, knowing his reaction would be a lot less calm, but he’d figured it out on his own. Unlike Sebastian’s Dad, he didn’t get angry, he just stopped talking to Blaine all together.
Sebastian’s father was furious but had no response. He knew she was right, that he could get in more trouble for the way he treated Sebastian than she could for helping him. For once Blaine was actually proud of his mother for standing up for him. Sebastian practically dragged to the car by his Dad- though the sight didn’t settle well with Blaine at all. He knew that Sebastian had meant harm to him, but the situation had back-lashed. He’d known Sebastian long enough to know that the argument with his Dad wasn’t over, and would probably be more brutal behind the walls of his own home. His Dad had never hit him, but who knew what he was capable of.
After they had driven off Blaine turned to his mom. “Mom... that was...”
She turned to him sharply, “You’re grounded. I don’t care where you were, what you did, whatever. I don’t care. The last thing I wanted to do was deal with that man, and you knew that. So until your Father comes home on Wednesday no Warbler practice, no Lima bean, nothing. You will go to school and come home. That’s it. After that your father can decide a better punishment.”
“Please don’t get Dad involved,” Blaine pleaded.
She walked past him back up o the house, but stopped before entering. “Fine. I want your phone then. For a week. Maybe two.”
Blaine quickly handed over his phone and rushed up to his room. He was so shaken from the whole situation. Sebastian’s dad had always frightened him, but at the same time it was his fault- he should have been there to pick Sebastian up.
Then he remembered that Kurt wanted him to call. It wasn’t life or death, but could really use some comfort, and talking to Kurt sounded like the best thing at the moment. He went on Facebook and waited for Kurt to get online. After about an hour he left him a message and decided to take a nap to get his mind off of things.
Blaine Anderson: (5:05) Hey Kurt, I don’t have my phone...long story... which I’ll share when you get online. Just write to me on here.
It wasn’t until 7, when his mom was yelling up the stairs that there was dinner if he wanted it, that he finally woke up. He yelled back that he wasn’t hungry and then checked his computer.
Kurt Hummel: (5:35) Oh, sounds like a juicy story.
Kurt Hummel: (5:40) Or serious?
Kurt Hummel: (5:53) Are you there?
Kurt Hummel: (6:01) Blaine, don’t scare me like this!
Kurt Hummel: (6:13) Sorry I wasn’t on earlier.
Kurt Hummel: (6:18)I had an awesome time today.
Kurt Hummel: (6:30) Well I’ll be here if you need me.
He quickly responded, hoping that Kurt was still on.
Blaine Anderson: (7:04) Hey! Sorry... I was sleeping
Kurt Hummel: (7:07) Haha, it’s okay.
Blaine Anderson: (7:08) So... how has the rest of your day been?
Kurt Hummel: (7:11) I believe you owe me a story.
Blaine Anderson: (7:12) Too long to type
Kurt Hummel: (7:12) :(
Kurt Hummel: (7:13) Do you have Skype?
Blaine Anderson: (7:15) Yeah
Blaine Anderson: (7:15) You really want to Skype?
Kurt Hummel: (7:16) KurtElizabeth
Kurt Hummel: (7:16) Add me!
Incoming call from Kurt Hummel
“Blainewarbler?” Kurt said, as his face came into focus on Blaine’s screen.
“KurtElizabeth?” Blaine responded mockingly.
“At your service,” Kurt replied. Blaine laughed, having his phone wasn’t really all that bad if he could do this. “So, what happened, hot stuff?”
“It’s actually kinda serious. Not that I don’t like being called hot stuff, you can definitely call me that,”
“Less ramble, more story!”
Blaine spent the next few minutes explaining every detail of what happened after he dropped Kurt off.
“Oh...wow,” Kurt said when Blaine finally stopped talking. “Are you okay?”
“I’ve been grounded before.”
“No... I mean... emotionally,” Kurt hesitated, knowing it sounded silly. But Blaine appreciated the concern.
“I do believe I am emotionally in tact, I’ll just be phone-less for a while,”
“What do you think will happen with Sebastian?”
“Uhhh-”
“Actually it’s none of my business.”
“No, no it’s fine. I don’t think his Dad will pull him out of school-”
“Yeah,” Kurt agreed.
“But I do think he definitely hates me now and wants to make my life a living hell. So...there’s that.”
“Aww well... hold on... NO DAD I’M ON SKYPE. NO IT’S BLAINE. OKAY, LOVE YOU TOO. NIGHT. My dad says hello. He thought I was talking to myself.”
“He still owes me dinner,”
“That can be arranged,” Kurt smiled, it was the kind of smile that spread through Blaine’s body in a matter of seconds and made everything warm. He didn’t know what he had done to deserve to meet someone who made him feel so wonderful. So alive.
“Kurt...”
“Yes, Blainewarbler,”
“I...really like talking to you. And hanging out with you.”
Kurt looked a little surprised, in a good way, like he was taken aback by Blaine’s forwardness. “I like you too, Blaine. I think we’ve got a good thing... going on... here.”
“Me too,” It was Blaine’s turn to smile widely.
“I shld get ooo bed now,” Kurt yawned.
“Alright, sleepy head. I’ll see you...when will I see you?”
“Hmmm skype date tomorrow?”
“I have Warb- just kidding I’m grounded. Yep. It’s a date.”
“Great! Night, cutie!”
Blaine didn’t know if Kurt was being serious or joking, so he went with the latter. “Night butterbutt!”
“Butterbutt???”
“OH GOD, I meant buttercup... but it came out as butterbutt... I have no idea why-”
“Been thinking about my butt, eh? I mean it is pretty nice.”
“Oh shut up!”
“Sweet dreams.... butterbutt!”
Blaine sighed, “I will never live this down, will I?”
“Never.”

butterbutt, oh my god. that just made my day.
I believe I have a new favorite nickname.
I absolutely love this! I couldn't stop reading! :D
Tehe could this be any more adorable...I mean except the Sebastian part, but I don't even care about that because he has Kurt! Please tell me that Kurt is still gonna transfer! I need them together, and I also need all of the Dalton boys to stop choosing Seb over Blaine. I mean, why would anyone in their right mind do that. Like Wes & David? Blaine's best friends, not Sebastian's...But yeah, that's just me. Great update! LOVE this fic. Oh, and a few typos, but otherwise perfection :)
