It was a thought that crossed Kurt Hummel’s mind so frequently, everyday, several times a day. Always when he was with his boyfriend, Blaine Anderson. Said boyfriend was playing little spoon at the moment, Kurt’s arms wrapped around his waist while his chest pressed against Blaine’s back. Blaine played with Kurt’s hands idly as they lay there, kissing his fingers or murmuring against his wrist every so often. And that thought passed through his mind again as he opened his eyes slowly after falling in and out of sleep for the past few hours, watching Blaine turn over to face him and feeling those warm arms pulling him close again. He thought it as Blaine kissed him and their hands found each other, intertwining together under the several layers of quilts that kept the boys warm as they slept, considering their lack of clothing.
“Kurt, last night was…” Blaine trailed off, as if he couldn’t find a word to describe his first time with kurt.
The younger boy just smiled simply, that rosy color that Blaine adored filling his cheeks. “It was every synonym of perfect.” Kurt whispered in response, nuzzling his face into Blaine’s chest and planting a soft kiss there before closing his eyes, enjoying the silence of just being there with Blaine. He’d never been alone with Blaine before, so this little winter break ‘I’ll stay home and study while the rest of my family goes on a camping trip before Christmas’ plan was going quite smoothly. Of course his family probably assumed they were doing exactly what they had, but they pretended it wasn’t obvious.
He had Blaine all alone, for a whole week. Since his transfer back to Mckinley, there had been only one time in the day Kurt was able to see his boyfriend, and due to lack of convenient romantic settings and Burt Hummel’s lovely curfew times, it was usually in public, at The Lima Bean.
So to have Kurt’s little bedroom dimly lit with candles and the bed covered in warm quilts was a bit too much for Blaine and then they were kissing and then clothes was on the floor and then, Well, there went his virginity. But neither boy had been nervous, because this was warm and intimate and everything a first time should be… it was them.
“Are you all right?” Kurt’s soft voice was broke through the peaceful stillness of the room, but Blaine nodded immediately as he felt the mumbled words against his chest, a little chuckle emitting from Kurt at his boyfriend’s reaction.
“A bit sore, but I don’t even want to move from this spot anyway. I think we’ll just spend all day right here.” Blaine smiled, leaning down to kiss Kurt’s head, Kurt sighing in approval and squeezing Blaine’s hand lightly.
“Perfect plan.” Kurt muttered, his wool socks rubbing playfully against Blaine’s, causing the other boy to chuckle softly and pull the covers up to his chin, Kurt’s hair barely peeking up from under the quilt as his head lay against Blaine’s warm chest. Kurt could hear his heartbeat.
“Hey, look. It’s snowing.” Blaine whispered, his moppy mess of un-gelled curls motioning towards the window. Kurt lifted his head and peeked out from under the covers in the direction of the window, smiling a bit when he saw that his boyfriend was right. There was a bit of snow gathered on the windowsill and little white blurs falling like rain onto the trees in the backyard, covering them in a light layer of bright, pallid snow.
“The winter’s first snow.” Kurt replied with a happy little sigh, leaning up to kiss Blaine’s parted lips, a smile warming his cheeks as he did so.
But it wasn’t just the first snow, because soon it would be Kurt and Blaine’s first Christmas together. And then their first new year’s kiss. And then, soon enough, their one year anniversary. And just the thought of that made their first time seem small, as if it was just a tiny fraction of what was to come, of everything they still had to experience for the first time, together.
