"Good morning!" Kurt said when he reached Blaine. "Is that for me?"
Blaine nodded and handed over one of the coffee cups. "I have news."
"Oh? Do tell," Kurt encouraged.
"I went to Mr. Shuester this morning," Blaine started. Kurt's eyebrows knitted together in confusion. "And I told him I wanted to audition or Glee club!"
"Really?" Kurt asked excitedly. "Blaine, that's great! When is your audition?"
"This afternoon. And, no, I'm not going to tell you what I'm singing," he said as Kurt opened his mouth again.
Kurt mock pouted for a moment before throwing his arms around his boyfriend.
"I'm so proud of you," he whispered.
Blaine chuckled. "I haven't done anything yet."
"You will," Kurt said confidently. "Now, may I accompany you to class?"
----------------------------------------------------
When the bell rang that afternoon, Blaine began to feel queasy. Despite Kurt's constant assurance that he would be fine, he couldn't shake the feeling that something horrible would happen and he would be laughed out of the room. He stopped by his locker, stalling for time.
"I thought I'd find you here," a voice said from behind him. He looked up to see Kurt smiling at him. "Nervous?"
Blaine smiled weakly. "I'll be fine."
"I know you will," Kurt said, grabbing Blaine's hand and intwining their fingers. "Now, let's go."
The two walked down the hall, hand in hand. When they reached the choir room, Kurt led him to a pair of empty chairs. As soon as they sat down, Mr. Shuester entered the room.
"Alright, guys, settle down," he said loudly. "Before we get started, we have an audition. Blaine, come on up here!"
After giving Kurt's hand a quick squeeze, Blaine made his way up to the front of the room. He nodded to Brad, who began to play a familiar tune on the piano.
It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money, but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live
If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a traveling show
I know it's not much, but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song, and this one's for you
And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple, but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well, a few of the verses, well, they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on
So excuse me forgetting, but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen
And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple, but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
As he finished, everyone burst into loud applause. He smiled shyly before sitting back down.
"Blaine, I think I speak for everybody when I say welcome to Glee club!" Mr. Shy water said. "Alright guys, let's get to work!"
He kept talking, but Blaine didn't hear anything. He'd done it. He was in Glee club with Kurt and he hasn't made a fool of himself. A loud cheer sounded and he looked up. Mr. Shue was writing "Beatles" on the whiteboard.
"I've wanted to do the Beatles for so long!" Kurt said excitedly.
"We'll begin next class," Mr. Shue told them. "So was out and get started!"
Kurt turned towards Blaine. "Wanna go back to my house and choose our songs?"
Blaine nodded enthusiastically. He would jump at any opportunity to spend time with his boyfriend. The two gathered their things a s walked to Kurt's car, grabbing Blaine's bike on the way.
On the ride home, they debated what songs they wanted to sing.
"I completely agree," Blaine said. "I mean, I love "Hey Jude" but it's so overplayed."
Kurt nodded as they turned into the driveway. "So that's out. That barrows it down to, what, 25 choices?"
Blaine chuckled. "Yeah, around there."
They walked into the house an up to Kurt's room, dropping their bag on the floor.
"So I think-- mmph," Blaine said eloquently, as Kurt captured his lips in a kiss.
"I'm sorry," Kurt said, not sounding sorry at all. "I've wanted to do that all day."
Blaine knew exactly how he felt. He leaned forward, kissing his boyfriend feverishly. After a moment, Kurt pulled back.
"We should figure out what we want to sing," he said. Blaine reluctantly agreed. They pulled out their iPods and began scrolling. An hour later, they had both settled on songs.
"Want to stay for dinner?" Kurt asked.
"Sure," Blaine nodded happily.
"Good," Kurt said. "You can help me cook."
They went down to the kitchen, where Blaine left most of the cooking to Kurt. Soon enough, Kurt's homemade lasagna was in the oven.
"That smells great!" Carole exclaimed as she walked in the door.
"Thanks! It'll be done in a little while," Kurt told her. Carole nodded and went to change out of her work clothes.
As soon as she left, Finn entered.
"Hey, Blaine!" He greeted. "What's for dinner?"
"Lasagna," Kurt answered. "It's almost done."
"Cool," Fi
