As soon as Kurt hung up, Blaine looked at him expectantly.
"What did he say?"
"Well, I told him that I was being bullied. He knew there was more to it though, because he told me to come straight home tomorrow morning. He didn't say anything about going to school," Kurt summarized.
Blaine processed that. "Does that mean you're staying here tonight?"
"Yeah. That's ok, right?" Kurt asked quickly. "I didn't think you would mind but-"
"It's fine, Kurt," Blaine interrupted. "But wouldn't you rather be at home?"
Kurt thought about that, then shrugged. "I feel... safe here." Blaine smiled and walked over, pulling Kurt into a tight hug.
"You'll always be safe with me," he promised. "Now, how about some dinner?"
The two boys walked downstairs to the kitchen, where Kurt sat at the table while Blaine rummaged in the pantry.
"How about some tomato soup," he asked, pulling out a can. Kurt nodded but still looked expectant. "I can try and find something else."
Kurt hopped off his chair and walked to the refrigerator. He looked through it before pulling out a few slices of Kraft cheese. After grabbing a loaf of bread, he went to the stove.
"Could I have a frying pan?" He asked. Blaine pulled one out, looking amused.
"What are you making?" He asked.
"Filet mignon," Kurt said drily. "Really, Blaine, you can't have tomato soup without grilled cheese."
"Oh, of course," Blaine smiled and pulled out butter and a spatula for Kurt.
"Thanks," Kurt said. "Now make that soup. This won't take long."
"Yes, sir," Blaine teases, moving to open the can and dump it in a sauce pan. It was quiet for a few moments as the boys worked side by side. Kurt finished first, plating the sandwiches and setting them on the table. Blaine was done soon after and the soup steamed as he poured it into bowls.
"Is diet coke ok?" He asked.
"Sounds great," Kurt told him. Blaine grabbed two cans from the fridge and carried everything to the table.
As soon as he took a bite of his grilled cheese, Blaine moaned.
"Kurt this is amazing!" Blaine exclaimed.
"Should I leave you two alone?" Kurt asked as Blaine let out another moan.
"It's just so good!" Blaine told him, too engrossed with his food to be embarrassed.
"It's just a grilled cheese," Kurt said, looking at him as though he were crazy. "It would probably be even better if you dunked it in your soup,"
Blaine smirked as he picked up his sandwich and followed Kurt's suggestion. "I would never have pictured you as someone who dunked their food."
"I am actually a fabulous dunker," Kurt declared, demonstrating his skills. The rest of the meal passes in the same manner, with the boys teasing each other and complimenting the food. Finally, everything was eaten. Blaine loaded the dishwasher, refusing Kurt's offer of help, before they headed back upstairs.
"So I've got some sweats you can borrow. And I'm sure I can find a t shirt that will fit you," Blaine offered.
"That would be great," Kurt accepted. "Do you want to shower first?"
"You can shower in here. I'll go down to my parent's bathroom," Blaine said. "There are towels in there already. Feel free to use whatever you want."
A he spoke, Blaine moved around the room, finding clothes for Kurt and gathering his own pajamas.
"I'll be back," he said as he left.
Kurt went into the bathroom, turning the water on so it could heat up. After finding a towel, be stepped into the steaming water. Ahh.
He hasn't realized how much he needed this. The water eased his muscles while the steam cleared his mind. He stood for a moment before starting to wash. When he was done, he toweled of and put the borrowed clothes on.
He looked through the bottles of products on the sink, smiling triumphantly when he found some moisturizer. After rubbing it in, he walked back into bedroom. Blaine entered at the same time, holding a large stack of blankets.
"Are you cold?" Kurt asked.
Blaine chuckled. "Nope."
Kurt sat down on the bed. "Then what are you doing?"
"Getting ready for bed," Blaine replied as he spread the blankets on the floor.
"Blaine, I'm not kicking out of your bed " Kurt objected.
"Well I don't want you to sleep in the guest room, it's too far from me. And you aren't sleeping on the floor," Blaine said adamantly.
Kurt was quiet for a moment. "I know this is a lot to ask but... I was kind of hoping you would hold me tonight."
Blaine stopped spreading blankets and looked up. "Are you sure?"
Kurt nodded. "Earlier, when you did it, I felt... Safe."
"You'll always be safe with me," Blaine reminded. "Now make room."
Kurt scooted over to give Blaine space. Blaine slid under the covers and reached over to turn off the lamp. As soon as it was dark, Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurt, smiling when the boy let out a contented sigh. Blaine pulled him closer. It wasn't long before Kurt's breath had evened out in sleep. Blaine took a moment to appreciate the beautiful, courageous boy in his arms before leaning over to whisper in his ear.
"Goodnight, Kurt. See you tomorrow."

I absolutely loved this chapter. Seeing the boys spend time together is awesome and I thought it was really great when Kurt told Blaine that he made him feel safe.
