Kurt and Blaine walked to chemistry together. Mr. Winston wasn't there when they walked in, so they had a few minutes to talk.

"So what did you think?" Kurt asked.
"They were nice," Blaine told him. "I think they liked me."

"Of course they liked you!" Kurt said. Mr. Winston walked in soon after that and the conversation was over.

----------------------------------------------------

As soon as Kurt walked into Glee that afternoon, he was besieged by questions.

"You've been holding back, boy!" Mercedes said.

"Says the girl who didn't text me all weekend," Kurt retorted.

"Seriously, Kurt. What's going on?" Tina asked. "Blaine sat by us in English and then sat with us at lunch?"

Kurt sighed, knowing he would have to give them some answers. Mercedes, Rachel and Tina were looking at him expectantly. Finn and the other boys looked on with interest. Even Santana looked as though she was listening.

"There's not a whole lot to tell," he started. "Blaine and I have chemistry together- that's how we met- and we hung out together this weekend. That's all."

"That's all?" Tina said incredulously.

"You two hung out?" Mercedes asked at the same time.

"Can he sing?" Rachel chimed in.

Kurt looked at them. "Yes, that's all. Yes, we hung out. And how am I supported to know if he can sing?"

He didn't bring up the fact that he an Blaine had sung Disney tunes together, so he knew that the boy had a wonderful voice. Luckily, Mr. Schue walked in at that moment, so Kurt was spared any more questions. The girls accepted that they wouldn't get any more answers right then and practice began.

Over an hour later, Kurt left the choir room. He was the last one to leave, having stayed behind to make copies of some sheet music. He was walking down the hall when he heard the voice.

"Hey fairy boy! What are you doing here so late?"

Kurt stiffened at the sound of Karofsky's voice. He knew there were few, if any, people in the building and nobody would hear them. Karofsky could do whatever he wanted to Kurt. He looked back. Karofsky was walking toward him. Kurt walked faster.

"Hey fag!" Karofsky said loudly. "I asked you a question. You shouldn't ignore your superiors."

Kurt closed his eyes, willing himself not to answer back. Suddenly, a beefy hand grabbed the back of his shirt.

"What's the matter, fag?" Karofsky asked, getting close to Kurt's face. "Cat got your tongue?"

Kurt jerked away. "Leave me alone."

Karofsky laughed. "What are you gonna do? Try to grab my dick?"

Kurt smacked Karofsky's hand off his shoulder. He began walking again.

"I wasn't done with you!" Karofsky yelled.

Kurt felt hands on his back, shoving him into the lockers. Kurt fell, pain blossoming over his entire right side.

"Do not walk away from me," Karofsky growled before continuing down the hall, leaving Kurt on the ground.

Kurt waited until the boy was out of sight. He hurried out of the building and to his car, painfully aware of his side. He quickly drove home, where his father was parked in front of the TV. He told Burt that he had a headache and didn't want dinner. His dad looked up, concerned. Kurt gave him a reassuring smile before going upstairs.

When he got to his room, he collapsed on his bed, where he stared at the ceiling until he fell asleep.
