After that Blaine and Kurt became nearly inseparable. And before he knew it, Kurt realized Blaine was becoming the most considerate friend he had ever had.
---
“So then, the killer came to me and said, Blaine, I know I just destroyed the entire world, but I'm actually your grandfather! Can you believe it Kurt?! MY OWN GRANDFATHER! I mean how crazy is that?!”
“Uh-huh, yep, crazy.” Kurt responded with an irritated huff. Blaine sent him a sideways glance and furrowed his forehead as they continued walking down the hallway.
“What's up with you today, you're all pissy?” Blaine asked, turning around and walking backwards with him.
Kurt huffed a sigh and instantly felt guilty for being short with Blaine, he looked at him and gave him a small smile, “It's nothing really, I just hate sitting next to Brett in Chemistry. Today he drooled on my shirt sleeve and smelled so bad I thought I was actually going to pass out.”
Blaine looked at him for a minute, then hummed and looked off thoughtfully.
Kurt shook his head and felt dumb, “It's nothing, I'm just over reacting anyways. So did you listen to the new Belle and Sebastian mix I made you yet?”
-
The next day Kurt walked into Chemistry to not only find Blaine there, but in the seat next to his.
Kurt walked up to him confused, “Hey Blaine..”
Blaine smiled widely, “Hey Kurt!”
“What are you doing in Brett's seat?”
Blaine's smile got even bigger, “Oh! Right! This is my seat now,” he said, voice full of excitement. Kurt stayed standing there, puzzled. Blaine pretended to be surprised, “Oh yeah you didn't know! Well today I got here a little early to talk to Clark about some things, and while I was here I might have mentioned to her that I was having a hard time seeing from my current seat. And you know what that GENIOUS woman did?! She moved me up a little bit! So I could see better of course!” He said leaning forward and whispering to Kurt, “and just between us, not only do I stay wide awake in class, but I've also been told on several occasions that I'm pretty pleasant to smell.” He said with a wink and a pat to the seat next to him.
Kurt stood there gaping at him for what had to be at least 5 minutes. “Blaine, I can't believe you..”
Blaine interrupted him with a frantic waving of his hands, “Stop getting all sappy Hummel, and come take your seat.”
Kurt shook his head and didn't try to stop the smile that took over his face as he made his way to the desk.
---
One Friday night Kurt was sitting in his room organizing his closet when he got a call from Blaine.
“Hey Blaine..”
“Hello, darling.” Blaine said in a ridiculous tone. Kurt snorted, but couldn't hold back the blush that crept up his neck. He was quickly beginning to realize that Blaine was an incredibly flirty friend. Slipping in pet names whenever he could and touching Kurt's arm and shoulder as much as possible, it was hard to miss.
One time Kurt actually asked him about it, but Blaine just laughed and slid his arm around Kurt's waist and said with a wink, “I can't help that you're so damn irresistible Kurty.” Kurt felt his skin burn through his shirt where Blaine had touched him and he felt as if his face was on fire. Blaine laughed for a solid 5 minutes after and Kurt slapped his shoulder, desperately trying to hide his red cheeks. Kurt knew Blaine was just doing it to embarrass him, but he couldn't bring himself to stop it. It was all just fun anyways.
“Oh god, what do you want Anderson?” Kurt asked
Blaine laughed again, “To talk, I'm so bored. Nick was supposed to meet me at the movies 25 minutes ago but apparently there's a lot of traffic tonight so he's running late.”
Kurt hummed, “Well the drive form Westerville to Lima is a long one,”
Blaine groaned, “Kurt, I am well aware of the distance between the 2 cities. What I really need right now is a distraction from how utterly bored I am.”
Kurt laughed, “Well what exactly do you want me to do about it?”
Blaine lowered his voice and whispered seductively into the phone, “You could tell me what you're wearing gorgeous..”
Kurt silently gulped and tried to ignore the blood that rushed South at Blaine's words, God this boy was evil. “Nice try, Anderson.”
Blaine burst out laughing, “Oh come on Kurt, you know I'm intoxicating. I bet you're blushing this very second.”
Kurt cursed himself but schooled his voice and sent back in the sassiest tone he could muster, “You are not nearly as charming as you think you are Blaine, hate to break it to you.”
Blaine laughed even louder, “You're breaking my heart babe, anyways. What are you doing?”
Kurt smiled and began sorting through his clothes again, “Just organizing my ridiculously large closet.”
“Didn't you like just do that like last weekend?” Blaine asked
Kurt sighed annoyingly, “More like last month Blaine, and plus, you can never be too organized when it comes to clothes.”
Blaine chuckled, “You're right Kurty my bad. So what's your weekend plans?”
Kurt's face fell a little, “Well, Mercedes and I were going to go to the mall and hit up the big sale this weekend, but she just called and canceled so now it appears as though my weekend will be filled with closet sorting and a musical marathon in my bedroom.”
“Musical marathon, eh? Anyone special you're planning on inviting?” Blaine asked
Kurt snorted, “Hah! No-one except me, myself, and I.”
Blaine laughed, “Well those just happen to be my 3 favorite people. But honestly Kurt, you can't honestly have a musical marathon by yourself! It just plain unethical!”
Kurt felt a smirk cross his face, “And what exactly do you suppose I do about it Anderson?”
Blaine let out a deep, dramatic sigh and said in an irritated voice, “Well, uh, I guess I'll just have to come have it with you.”
Kurt bit back a laugh, “Oh really? Damn. That sounds awful. I wish there was something else I could do.”
Blaine huffed out another irritated breath, “Well yeah you and me both Kurt. But there really isn't any other options now is there?”
“No, I guess there is not.”
“Well then I GUESS I'll see you at your house tomorrow at 3.”
This time Kurt didn't hold back his laugh, “I guess you will.”
---
Another time they were over at Kurt's working on the project when Kurt's phone rang.
He glanced at the name on the caller ID and pressed accept, “What do you want Rachel?..” he said in a tired voice.
Blaine heard the muffled voice of an angry girl on the other line, he couldn't make out what she was saying, but by the way she was yelling and the way Kurt's face scrunched up in frustration, he could only assume it was something bad.
“Shit… okay Rach calm down, we'll figure something out okay? Maybe we can hold auditions this week, or maybe we can bribe some band kids, we'll make it work. Just calm down before you have an aneurism. I'll see you tomorrow. Okay, okay, Ok- GOODNIGHT RACHEL.” Kurt yelled the last part, hanging up the phone and dropping his head into his hands.
“What's wrong darling?” Blaine asked.
Kurt groaned and lifted his head, “It's just Glee club drama. Apparently 3 of the guys bailed today which leaves us 3 people short. If we can't find replacements by Sectionals next week, we are automatically disqualified.” Blaine could tell how much this meant to Kurt and felt his heart ache at the idea of him not being able to perform. Kurt pushed his glasses up his face and rubbed his eyes, a nervous habit Blaine was beginning to notice of his, and let out a sigh. “Oh well, its fine, we'll figure something out. How's page 3 coming?”
-
Later that week when Kurt was in glee trying to figure out the best way to find replacements, they heard a knock on the door. Everyone turned to see Blaine standing in the doorway with 3 other rather good looking boys.
“Umm, can I help you guys?” Mr. Shue asked.
Blaine stepped forward and smiled widely, “Hello sir my name is Blaine Anderson and this is Noah Puckerman, Finn Hudson, and Sebastian Smythe. My friend Kurt told me about the problem you guys were having and we were hoping to help.” He said, smiling at Kurt.
Everyone in the room was stunned silent, everyone in awe of the fact that Blaine Anderson was not only attempting to join Glee Club, but that he just openly called himself a friend of Kurt's.
Rachel seemed to snap out of it before everyone else. “Well can you guys even sing?”
Blaine looked sheepish and turned to look at his friends, they each smiled and nodded. Blaine turned around and looked at Rachel dead on, “We can certainly try.”
---
“I can't believe you ACTUALLY joined Glee Club.” Kurt said to Blaine that night over the phone.
Blaine laughed loudly, “What?! You said you guys needed some extra people and me and the guys were available now that football season is almost over. Plus! Now I get to hear you sing, so it was basically all in my own benefit anyways.”
Kurt rolled his eyes, “yes well we all know how utterly selfish you are Blaine Anderson.” He paused and dropped his voice to a much more serious tone, “But honestly Blaine, thank you.”
Now Blaine rolled his eyes, “Yeah yeah, it's really no big. Anyways, are we still on for movie night on Saturday, babe?”
Kurt faked a gasp, “BLAINE! Would it even BE a Saturday night without one?!”
Blaine laughed, “Lovely! I'll bring the popcorn.”
