Epilogue
“Are you nervous?” Blaine asked Kurt a few months later.
They were in their apartment, getting ready for breakfast. Kurt took one of his white t-shirts and looked at it. He was nervous, he had to admit. With a sigh he put on the piece of clothing and sat down.
He never gave too much of a thought about the sorting but as the day drew closer he couldn’t stop thinking about it. The end of the year meant the new beginning. It didn’t matter which squad he would be in – everything was about to change. It also meant that he and Blaine would be sent on missions, most likely different ones, and they would hardly see each other. They would rarely text or skype, or talk… But he chose not to bring it up now.
“I’m about to find out what kind of colour I will have to wear for the rest of my life so I may be a little worried,” he said smiling slightly.
Blaine sat down next to him and took his hand. “You are exaggerating. You will only need to wear it in the base. Besides, look at Finn – he changed from the Blue Squad to the Purple Squad. It’s not uncommon so maybe you can do it as well in the future. I mean, if you don’t get into the ‘purples’ today,” he said with a smile.
Kurt shook his head. “You know pretty well that I won’t make it into the Purple Squad. I just hope it’s not the Yellow. Not only because they are the weakest but because I don’t like the colour. Um, what’s the second lowest? Red?”
“You must be really nervous if you already forgot the order. It’s Yellow, Orange, Red, Blue, Green, and Purple. I have a good feeling about the ‘blues’ for you. You would look nice in blue clothes.”
“I always look nice, Anderson,” Kurt mocked him. He knew that Blaine didn’t really like being called by his last name but he used knowing Kurt’s last name against him as well so Kurt didn’t feel guilty about it. Blaine gave him a stern look but decided not to call him out on this because Kurt was obviously not in a playful mood no matter how hard he was trying to put a brave mask on.
“I think I would like to be a ‘blue’ but I don’t know anyone in the Blue Squad… Okay, I’m freaking out now.”
“Okay, maybe we should get going then. Sitting here and discussing it won’t help you relax. Besides, we don’t want to miss it,” Blaine said and they left, holding hands and walking close to each other.

The cafeteria was already full of people, anticipating the news. It wasn’t only the sorting that they were about to find out about. They knew that the new head of the C.A.T. would be announced right after it. People were curious, to say the least. In a way, their fates were in that man’s or woman’s hands.
“Hey, guys,” Sugar greeted them when the boys came to join them by their usual table. Kurt and Blaine were the last ones as everyone else were already there.
They all exchanged morning pleasantries. It was painfully obvious that the ‘whites’ were nervous. Only Sebastian seemed to be calm.
“You are all very early,” Blaine mentioned sitting down next to Mike who was holding Tina’s hand and whispering something in her ear.
They got into a conversation to hide the nervousness and pass the time. Kurt didn’t really feel like talking. He had a funny feeling in his stomach and didn’t want to show anyone that he was worried. So he chose to ignore the conversation and look around instead. That was when Kurt spotted a guy in a pink t-shirt walking towards one of the empty tables.
“I think I’ve seen him somewhere before. Who is that guy?” he asked Jeff who was listening to the conversation between Nick and Sam.
Jeff looked at the boy Kurt was pointing at. “Oh, it’s Jesse St. James. Blaine used to have a major crush on him. I’m sure that the guy had feelings for Blaine as well.”
Kurt decided to ignore the last part. “Why is he wearing that pink t-shirt?”
“Because he is from the Pink Squad,” Jeff explained.
“I have never heard of–”
They heard a noise and the whole cafeteria looked up at the screen which had just been switched on. Everyone knew they were about to find out where those five newbies had been appointed.
The screen lit up but there were more than five names. There were eleven of them.
Wes – Blue Squad
Santana – Black Squad
Tina – Black Squad
Kurt – Black Squad
Sebastian – Purple Squad
Mike – Black Squad
Blaine – Black Squad
Sugar – Black Squad
Jeff – Black Squad
Noah – Black Squad
Finn – Black Squad
“What? Black–” Mike began, frowning a little in confusion but before he could finish or before anyone could say anything else the image on the screen changed. There was a photo of a bald man and the caption next to it: The new head of the C.A.T. – Burt.

Just an idea, maybe a short sequel where you show them on a mission. Even just some drabbles of some sort to tie up lose ends.
I don't really want anything short... If I'm going to write a sequel, I want it to be full, normal length fic :)

thank you for an absolutely amazing story I enjoyed every single part of it...well maybe apart from epilogue 1 but every other part I loved so so much! The story line was imaginative and creative, something I've never seen before and the whole story was so well written! I really loved how Finn and Kurt were closer than canon I think they work well together also Puck becoming nice because I love Puck's character and I love it when he is involved with fanfics. Anyway I know you said that you don't know whether you will write a sequel but I think there is so much you can do with a sequel 1. I want to read what Kurt's reaction to finding out his dad was part of the C.A.T. all along 2. I want to find out more about this black squad 3. I want to know what kind of missions the black squad go on, for some reason I kind of assume that whilst all the other agents go on singular missions the black squad word together in a team for their missions. There could be so much action in the sequel and I think it would be amazing! Explosions everywhere love, trust, worry, loss of trust. As I said I think there could be a lot done with it, you said you needed to someone to help, I'm not listed as beta because I'm not entirely sure what they do (XD) but I would be honored to help you write and come up with a storyline. So he had to be different :)I know how much I can do with the fic - tons of storylines possible! I guess I just need to find a perfect one? I left a lot of unanswered questions (everyone seems to notice the Black Squad but what the Pink squad is?) so if I write a sequel, I have somewhere to go from. I could come up with something, I'm sure, because this verse is very easy to write compared to some others. Probably because it's all created in my head (I'm trying to write a school based fic and though it's quite popular, I'm struggling a lot and I think it's a rubbish one which takes a lot of time to write even though the chapters are short), I know every bit of the verse. I guess I shut down myself from thinking about a sequel now, I'm letting my head rest. However, so many people are asking for a sequel that recently I actually started thinking a little bit about it. But I need some time :) I will tell you a secret, my heart is leaning towards writing a sequel ;)I'm not sure if I ever said I needed help, to be honest. In one of my fics I let people vote to decide what is going to happen in the next chapter, but with this one I was very reserved. I've got the whole story figured out in like two days before starting writing it. I don't know why but I want this fic to be completely mine, without anyone's help with coming up with plot ideas, while I don't mind suggestions in the other fics :) Maybe because it's the first one? this didn't end the way i expected it to. with all the kurt and blaine angst, i thought that once blaine realized that he was totally head over heels for kurt, they would both make the decision to leave the C.A.T. so that they could be together. but this ending was soooooo good that it's screaming "sequel!" (it kind of feels like you left open the possibility–what is the black squad and what do they do?) you know something like, 10 years in the future, burt is still the head, the missions that the blacks go on, kurt and blaine married and how they deal with being married agents, kids...i could go on and on. here's to you for this story. and here's hoping for a sequel :)
