"Yup, he's here. He's coming up the stairs right now," Mathew jeered, banging on the bed. It makes me jump and whimper. It doesn't help at all.
"Stop stop stop stop," I rambled. "Nowhere nowhere nowhere." Mathew just kept laughing and banging. I jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom, the only room with a lock, and lock myself in there, sliding down to the floor.
"Nowhere nowhere nowhere," I mumbled. It's not working. I'm not safe. I shuffled through the drawers, finding a pair of hair scizzors. I'm shaking and eye my wrists. No no no no no. Too many can see too many questions. I pulled down my pajama pants and drum my thighs. It's perfect. No one no one no one will see. It's so simple. I hissed at the sting but the cuts bleed and take away my troubles. He can't hurt me no no no not if I hurt myself first. I still win I always win.
I don't sleep that night. Instead I stay in the bathroom, with the door locked, sitting in the bathtub. It's eight in the morning before I hear the doorbell ring. It's saturday, no school no school. I don't need to leave this bathroom.
"Blaine?" I heard Jenna call. I hear more voices calling my name. It's Kurt. Kurt's here. But I don't leave my bathroom. I hear a man call my name.
He's here.
"No! No no no no no!" I whispered. Can't scream don't scream someone will hear. I hear footsteps pounding up the stairs. "No no no no no no!" I cried. He's coming he's coming.
"Blaine?"I hear Kurt's voice at the other end of the door.
"No no no no no."
"Blaine?" Kurt tried to turn the knob. "Let me in please?"
"He's here he's coming."
"He's not hear," Kurt said, trying to calm me.
"I heard him."
"You heard my dad. He's downstairs."
"He's downstairs!? He's here he's here!"
"No I meant my dad is downstairs. My dad Burt. You know."
"Why?"
"He came with me. It's saturday I figured we go do something. Please open the door," Kurt asked again.
I nodded and got up. "O-okay okay okay," I unlocked the door, opening just a smidgen to see Kurt.
"Hey you," Kurt tilted his head at me.
"Where is he?" I tried to peer pass Kurt.
"He's not here. It's just me, my dad, and Finn."
"Promise?"
He stuck out his pinky. "Promise."
I hooked my pinky to his and sighed. "I-I kept seeing him last night." I shivered. "I know he's not here but after yesterday---"
"I know. But trust me. He's not going to find you anymore. And my dad is with us. So we're good," he reassured me. "Did you sleep in here last night?"
"No bu I stayed up in here last night," I sighed, yawning.
"Oh Blaine," Kurt frowned. "C'mon, let's go get you dressed." He took my hand and led me to my room. I quickly grabbed some clothes, glad that no one else was in here. I changed at top speed and pulled on my glasses. Kurt took my hand again and walked downstairs with me. There I saw Finn and Burt waiting outside.
"Hey Blaine," Finn waved as I started out the door.
"Mr. Hummel? Can I ask you something?" Jenna appeared from the kitchen.
"Sure?" Burt shrugged as Jenna motioned him to follow her. Kurt went to and Finn was about to follow until Mathew showed up.
"He's coming Blaine," he sneered, mocking me in a sing-song voice. I shivered and grabbed onto Finn's arm, not really thinking about how awkward it would be. Finn stopped and turned around to Mathew, giving him a slight glare. That shut Mathew up, even backing away without a word. I'm still squeezing Finn's arm and shaking, but instead of feeling awkward Finn just rubbed my back.
"Yea it's no problem," Burt said, reappearing with Kurt and Jenna.
"Thanks, I just figured he could use it," she said. "Maybe with some familar faces it'll be easier for him."
"Blaine! Guess what!" Kurt walked over, grinning. I lessened my grip on Finn's arm, and looked over to him.
"W-what?"
"You mister, are spending the weekend at my house," Kurt said, quite proud of himself as if it was his idea.
"Huh?" Both me and Finn said.
"Jenna said it might make you feel better," Kurt shrugged. "Whatever I don't care you're staying with us this weekend," he twirled.
I just nodded we walked out the door to their car. I climbed in the back with Kurt, leaning against him and rubbing my face on his arm. I noticed they weren't driving back to their house. "Where are we going?"
"Oh, we figured you'd want to replace your contacts. Didnt you tell him Kurt?" Burt raised an eyebrow.
"Sorry! I forgot to mention!" Kurt giggled.
"I-I can't."
"Why not?" Burt asked.
"I-I don't have any money." My parents cleaned out my bank account.
"Oh shut up," Burt rolled his eyes.
"I'm seri---"
"I know, so shush!" Burt said. "It's not a problem."
"B-but---" I started, but was once again silenced by a shush.
"Hey you're my son now I got this," Burt said.
You're my son now. I haven't been anyone's son for a while.
The ride continued on quietly til we reached the eye doctors. The appointment went smoothly, just them doing some eye tests to see what I need. Burt stayed with me during the whole oppointment, during each eye tests, sitting next to me, putting a comforting hand on my shoulder when the tests made me jump.
"Th-thanks Burt," I mumbled as we left the doctor's office.
"No problem kiddo," he said as he went to speak with the nurse.
"So how did it go?" Kurt said, as we made our way to the car.
I just shrugged. "Good? It was just some eye tests."
"Good, cause as dashing as you look in those nerd glasses, I'm just not used to them," he teased. I nudged his side gently, giving a small chuckle. But then we were outside. I felt my eyes dart around, looking for him.
"Blaine?"
"I'm fine," I squeaked. I felt Kurt grab my hand as we walked to the car. I heard a loud bang and jumped.
"Blaine it was just a car door," Finn said. I just shook my head.
"Come on we're going home," Kurt said as we piled into the car.
"So what do you wanna do today?" Kurt asked as we plopped on his bed.
"Stay here," I said, sitting curled up, hugging my knees.
Kurt frowned but nodded. "Okay, what do you want to do? We could watch a movie.."
"W-we could do that..." I played with his comforter. "Sorry I'm not much fun."
"Huh? Oh no no no honey it's fine," Kurt hopped up and went to his movies. "What do you wanna watch?"
"I don't care, you pick."
"Do you wanna sing?" Kurt asked.
I shrugged and nodded. "Okay."
Kurt smiled and pulled Aladdin off his DVD rack. He popped the DVD and prounced on the bed next to me. "Come along, we shall sing together."
I couldn't help but smile as the first song came up and we sang a bit.
"So obviously, you're Aladdin and I'm Jasmine, right?" Kurt teased.
I laughed and nodded. "I can't sing like Jasmine sorry."
"One day my voice will change," Kurt sighed jokingly.
"Kurt, you're about 4 years past puberty. I think this is as low as it gets," I teased him.
"You should of heard me before puberty," he laughed.
"Oh god did dogs go nuts?"
"No! ...... Maybe," he giggled.
I shoved him lightly and laughed. "I miss being normal."
"You are normal," Kurt groaned dramatically.
I just shook my head, but I wasn't going to argue it. No no no I wasn't going to ruin it.
After the movie and looked over to Kurt. "Can I go shower?"
Kurt nodded. "You know where my bathroom is," he smiled.
"Thinking of me in the shower, Hummel?" I teased.
Kurt blushed and hit me with a pillow. "Blaine!" I just laughed and slid off the bed.
"I'll be quick." I said as I walked off to the bathroom. Once in there I stripped down and turned on the shower. I sat on the toilet, waiting for the water to be ready. I stared down at the marks I left this morning. I traced them with a burnt finger. The touch stung, and I let out a soft groan. I traced the scars on my wrists and frowned. I'm falling back into bad habits. I get up and walked into the shower, the water nice and lukewarm, good to the touch. And for a bit I just stay in there, not moving, just standing there. I shake my head, splashing water against the shower walls. I scrubbed myself until my skin turned red. I'm scruffy still since I haven't shaved in a while. My curls are wild and even the water can't flatten them. I sighed and finished my shower, stepping out and drying myself. I put on my clothes and walked out, hitting a brick wall.
Oh wait it's just Finn.
"Oh! Sorry Blaine!" Finn back away to make room.
"I-it's fine," I rubbed my head.
"What's that?"
Oh god can he see my cuts? Throwing away the fact that my clothes were covering everything. "Wh-what?"
"That," he pointed a finger to my chest. I looked down and could of slapped myself.
"A cross...?" The tiny wooden 'T' hung on a chain around my neck.
"You're Christian?"
"Yea I'm a Catholic. Why?"
"It's just weird."
"...Why??"
"O-oh! I just meant---Cause Kurt he's not and I thought cause you're uh um like Kurt---"
"Gay?"
"Yea gay---But yea. And what like your dad ... Okay I'm not good at this."
I offered him a goofy smile. "It's alright Finn. I know Kurt's not the most spiritual. I dunno," I shrugged. "I just needed something to believe in and God was there."
"Oh..." Finn said. "That's kind of cool."
I shrugged. "Yea I guess it is. I'm gonna go back to Kurt's room okay?"
"Huh? Oh yea sure," Finn moved out of the way and let me pass. I hurried to Kurt's room where I found him hanging off the side of his bed, doing homework.
"Hey you," I said, getting his attention.
"Fiiiiiinally!" Kurt spun and hopped til he was standing. "Good! Come sit!" he patted his bed. "Look as much as I love the bum look, I feel we could clean you up a bit." He pulled a electric razor and some gel out of his dresser.
"Um sure. .. Where'd you get the razor?" I raised an eyebrow, an amused look on my face.
"Hey I shave! ......Alright it's Finn's but I asked to borrow it so c'mere!" He pouted. I laughed and sat on the bed. Kurt turned the razor on, covering my face in shaving cream.
"W-wait..Do you know what you're doing?" I asked, a little nervous about him shaving my face.
"Oh calm down of course I do!" He smiled.
"Sorry if I'm not totally sure of that," I laughed, teasing him.
"Oh shush and let me go!" Kurt chuckled and started shaving my face. I didn't feel any nicks, do that's good. Soon he finished and wiped my face with the towel I brought back with me from the bathroom.
"There," Kurt grinned, grabbing his little compact mirror and opening it. "Well? Well?"
"Wow Kurt, you actually did a pretty good job," I chuckled, rubbing my now scruff free face.
"Why thank you Mr. Blaine Cortlin Warbler Anderson," Kurt grinned proudly. "Now sit still," he smiled, pulling a bottle of hair products out of his vanity. "We're gonna tame those curls!"
I laughed and turned my back to him. "I'm all yours Hummel."
I heard him laugh and felt the bed sink behind me. It wasn't like I was incapable of doing these things, I just knew Kurt liked doing them. Makeovers were his life.
"There. Now you look as dapper as ever," Kurt slid his arms around my shoulders, letting them hang there in a loose hug.
I grabbed his mirror and admired myself. Myself. Blaine was looking back at me. The real Blaine. Not this stranger I've been in for the past few months. I could feel myself start to smile.
"Mhmm there's that adorable smile," Kurt purred, kissing my neck. I let out a chuckle and squirmed. He left a trail of kisses around my neck.
"Hey guys----Whoa! S-sorry!" We both sighed when Finn walked in.
"Finn! It's called knocking! Try it!" Kurt groaned. I just couldn't help it, I started laughing. Finn joined in with me, whilst Kurt just gave us annoyed looks.
"Oh lighten up Kurt," I nudged his side. Kurt frowned but I saw hints of a smile.
I woke up in a jolt to Blaine screaming.
"What's wrong!?" I shrieked, grabbing his arm. My dad let him stay in my bed tonight, giving us his trust. But Blaine jumped and jerked his arm away.
"No no no don't touch me!" he choked.
"Sorry sorry! What's wrong?"
"He's here he's coming!" he pulled his knees to his chest and hugged his head.
"Blaine's he's not---"
"He is!"
"Okay okay!" I bit my lip. "Want me to get my dad?"
"No! No no no don't open the door!" A sob ripped through his body, which in turn ripped through my heart.
"Okay okay----"
"Lock the door lock it!"
"Okay! Okay I will," I pushed myself off the bed and turned the thumb lock. "There. See? We're safe here."
"No no no no no no no we're not safe," he muttered.
"Tell me what to do to make us safe."
"Nothing there's nothing," he sobbed.
I looked around my room. We could barricade, but the furniture was too heavy for me to move by myself, and Blaine wasn't going to be of help. "Do you want me to get my dad?" I asked again.
"No no no don't open that door, no one open that door!" he cried, rocking his body. I returned to his side by the bed. He didn't notice me, he just kept sobbing and rocking.
"Oh Blaine," I hugged him, steadying his rocking. "It's okay. I'm here." I rubbed his back in small circles, kissing his cheek and neck and arms softly. "It's okay."
I felt Blaine let out a shaky sigh and snuggle into himself. "Th-thank you K-Kurt."
"It's nothing Blaine. It's okay. You're safe, I promise. Okay?"
Blaine nodded and picked his head up. "Kurt? I-I love you."
"I love you too Blaine," I said automatically. Automatically, because I don't need to ever think about saying it back. "Can you go back to sleep?"
Blaine shook his head. "No no no no I never can."
"Okay. Then I'll stay up with you," I spooned into his neck.
"No no no no no no go to sleep---"
"Blaine, I'm going to stay up with you . No ifs ands or buts," I kissed his nose. He didn't argue, he just stayed as he was.
I woke up and realized that I fell asleep. I fell asleep. That doesn't happen after these things. My body is cramped because I fallen asleep sitting up with my knees to my chest. I felt Kurt's even breathing as he stayed hugging me by my side. Kurt. Kurt who stayed up with me. Who made me feel safe. I smiled as I carefully slid out of his arms and looked at the clock. Eight in the morning. I saw Kurt's phone blinking and out of instinct I checked. He had a text from Brittany

I smiled as I text her back.
