After a few more hours of silence he looked over to see his body shifting in the bed. He watched hopeful that he'd wake up and maybe, just maybe, he'd be Kurt. His eyes opened slowly and confused hazel eyes looked over at him.
“What the hell?” his voice said. It had to be Kurt! Blaine shifted carefully and rolled over onto his side. He bit back any little pain and looked over at himself. God this was weird!
“Kurt?” he asked hesitantly. Confused hazel eyes turned to shocked ones instantly.
“Um...Blaine?”
“Oh my god...we switched bodies!”
“How the hell did we switch bodies?! It's not possible!”
“Apparently it is because I'm you and you're me. This is all wrong and weird!”
Blaine rolled onto his back and looked at the ceiling. What the hell happened to them?
“If we go back to sleep and wake up then it will all be over. Just go back to sleep and we'll wake up in the right body,” Kurt said. Blaine looked over at himself and smiled. Kurt wasn't thinking straight. They weren't going to fall asleep and wake up in the right bodies. He sighed in relief knowing he was awake. Neither of them were dead they were just in separate bodies.
“What could have done this?” Blaine said. He looked over to see Kurt had looked over at him surprised.
“What?”
“It's just weird hearing you talk like me...and me talk like you. Oh god! My voice! Whatever did this needs to change us back!”
“But I like having your voice!” Blaine said pouting.
“No! When we get out of here we will figure this out. Until then you better act like me or I will hurt you,” Kurt said.
“Technically you would be hurting yourself...so you can't do that,” Blaine said smirking and sticking his tongue out.
“I'll shave your hair off”
“No!”
Kurt's smile grew and Blaine sighed.
“Fine. You win.”
“I always do,” Kurt said winking at him. Blaine laughed and waited for somebody to come in. When Carole came in she ran over to Kurt smiling.
“Blaine! You're awake! I called your parents to tell them what happened. They're on their way back. It may be a few more hours though,” she said. His eyes widened in fear and he looked over at Kurt. He seemed calm about it and looked over at Blaine.
“Kurt? Are you okay?” Carole asked him.
“Yeah...I just...I..I mean Blaine had a fight with his parents recently. I just hope it all goes over well,” he said. Carole smiled sadly down at Kurt. This was getting too confusing and hard to not give them away. Carole checked him over and was happy with how he was. She helped who she thought was Kurt of his bed and to a chair beside Blaine's bed. Blaine reached out and took his good hand in his. He couldn't feel the pain from the ribs or the shoulder but he wished he could. It was his body! He should be in pain! Carole left them alone and he turned to Kurt. He never realized how nice his hazel eyes actually were. They were...inviting. Warmth and love radiated throughout them.
“Blaine...I have to deal with your parents!? I can't do that. I'll snap,” Kurt said.
“It's not like I haven't. Just don't act...”
“Gay?” Kurt finished.
“Yeah...” he said looking down ashamed. Kurt's hand tightened around his and he looked up sadly at him.
“I'll do my best...”
“Thank you...” Blaine replied. They sat in an comfortable silence just holding hands. He was rubbing his thumb over the knuckles of his own hand. He looked up to see Kurt had fallen asleep. He smiled at himself sleeping and sat back still holding his hand. Once they got out of here they would work on themselves. Blaine leaned over slowly and pulled his Kurt's hand, his hand, up to his lips and he kissed the back of it. His lips lingered on the back of his hand and he felt tears escape from his eyes. He felt arms wrap around him and he looked up startled. Hugging him was his own mother! She was crying and holding him.
“Mo—Mrs. Anderson...are you okay?”
She pulled back looking at him surprised. She took his hand in hers and smiled at him.
“You were going to call me mom...” she said.
“Yeah...slipped my mind. I thought it was Carole at first and it just came out...” he said.
“Kurt, you can call me mom. I don't mind,” she said brushing a strand of hair from his face. Blaine loved his mom and how she treated Kurt. It was a lot better than his father.
“How is he?” she asked sadly.
“Okay...broken shoulder and broken ribs. He has a concussion too. He was awake but he fell back asleep.”
“Good. Oh, my poor baby,” she said walking to the other side and kissing his cheek slightly. Blaine yearned to be back in his body for his mother's love. She loved Kurt but she wasn't Kurt's mother. Kurt's mother was gone...and Blaine needed to learn to live with that now in Kurt's body. Kurt loved Carole but had never called her mom. He still acted as a son for her. He was happy that his dad was happy. Blaine watched his mom fuss over him and sighed. He got up stiffly from the plastic chair and went to his bed. He laid down and closed his eyes tired and wanting to forget about everything.
