“Morning beautiful,” Blaine said. Kurt smiled at him and sighed. He still couldn't get used to Blaine calling him beautiful.
“Morning. Merry Christmas baby,” Kurt said.
“Merry Christmas,” Blaine said. Kurt moved over to his nightstand and pulled out a little box and moved back over to Blaine.
“I got this while we were in New York...something small for you,” Kurt said.
“You got me a dog and now this?” Blaine asked.
“Yep...there's never enough for you,” Kurt said smiling. Blaine smiled and leaned up to kiss him before opening the box. Inside it was a Tiffany & Co box. Blaine looked up at him surprised and opened the box. Inside was a bracelet with “You're Everything” engraved on it. Their song was called “Everything” and they had planned on using it in the wedding. Kurt smiled down at him and he rubbed a thumb on his collar bone.
“Do you like it?”
“It's amazing,” Blaine said. Kurt smiled and kissed him again.
“You're all I want, you're all I need, you're everything,” Kurt sang to him softly. Kurt was near tears as was Blaine. He knew he went all out for Blaine this year but he wanted to. It was leading up to their wedding. He wanted to make sure these next few months were the best.
“Would you put it on me?” Blaine asked.
“You can't?” Kurt joked. He unclasped it and put it on Blaine's wrist. Blaine was smiling up at him.
“Nope,” Blaine said laughing.
“Maybe we should get up and get ready...” Kurt said.
“Do we have to?”
“Yes we do...” Kurt said. He got up not realizing he was still in just boxers.
“Hmm...this makes me not want to get up,” Blaine said.
“Shut up,” Kurt said making his way into the bathroom. A few hours after they were done everybody had arrived. Rachel and Finn were first and his dad and Carole were next. Kurt had some snacks put on the table when somebody wrapped their arms around him. This wasn't Blaine. He turned to see Annabelle behind him smiling.
“Anna!” he said. They hugged and he let her go. She looked so happy and content.
“Merry Christmas,” she said.
“Merry Christmas to you too,” he said. This was their first Christmas together. Kurt didn't want to forget it at all.
“So...I may have gotten you a little something,” she said. Kurt laughed and looked down.
“I may be giving you something but I didn't buy it...you'll love it though,” Kurt said. He put the tray of Carole's cookies on the table and they went into the living room. They all exchanged gifts and Anna gave one box to Kurt and the other to Blaine. She had gotten them both designer scarves that were the same pattern but in two different colors.
“They're amazing,” Kurt said. He got up and picked up the tiny bag he had put hers in.
“It's nothing big or amazing but it holds some significant value to me at least. Once you open it I'll explain,” Kurt said. She pulled the box out of the bag and opened it up. Inside was a necklace that had a heart with an E initial on it.
“Turn it over,” Kurt said. She flipped it over and on the back were the names Kurt & Annabelle. She looked up at him confused.
“Dad gave this to me after he told me about you...he said she used to wear it while she was in the hospital. I thought she had been buried with it but she wasn't. There's one other box in the bag too,” Kurt said. She closed the necklace up and pulled out the other box. She opened it up to see a ring with a one carat diamond and two blue sapphires flanking it.
“Did you get me this?” she asked.
“Once again...it was our moms. I remember seeing it in the glass case and begged dad to get it for her for Mother's Day. She loved the color blue and it was the nicest of the rings I had seen. Dad got it for her and I gave it to her. She was in the hospital at this time too...I gave it to her. She loved it. A few days later she passed away...Dad gave me the ring back to hold onto and said to give it to somebody one day who would appreciate it. I would never be able to do that though and I kept it in my room,” Kurt said starting to feel the tears welling up.
“Go on...” she encouraged.
“Then...I found you...I got to know you and then I understood what he meant by giving it to someone who would appreciate it. Anna...you're amazing and I'm so happy we got to know each other and actually get to be your brother. Please...wear our Moms ring? I think she'd be happy knowing you have it anyway,” Kurt said. Annabelle was crying and pulled the ring out and put it on.
“Perfect fit,” she said. Kurt smiled and hugged her. He told himself he wouldn't cry but screw it. This was how he had imagined their first Christmas. He was so relieved that she accepted both of the gifts.
“I have Moms jewelry box in my closet. It's on a shelf...I have a huge closet,” he said laughing.
“I'm not surprised,” she said pulling away.
“If you want to look at any of it and take some you can...just leave me with some too. I have plans,” he said.
“I hope you're not selling anything,” she said smiling. Kurt knew she was joking but he still felt a little hurt.
“Hell no. I couldn't do that. Mom means too much to me to do that,” Kurt said. She smiled at him. Blaine came up to her and hugged her.
“You're officially in this family so get used to Kurt being emotional at Christmas,” Blaine said.
“Ugh,” Kurt said. Annabelle laughed and looked at Kurt. She grabbed Blaine's wrist and looked at the bracelet.
“You're Everything? God you two are disgustingly cute,” she said.
“It's a line from our song. I got it for him for Christmas,” Kurt said. That was when they heard a slam and Blaine bolted into the kitchen. Kurt was behind him and Anna too. Everybody else slowly followed. Sure enough there was Blaine holding back Samson by his collar. Carole's cookies all over the floor. Samson was struggling and barking at the lost cookies.
“Samson!” Kurt yelled. Samson immediately stopped and looked at Kurt with his tongue hangin out of his mouth.
“Blaine! You said you put the gate up!” Kurt yelled.
“I did! He must have knocked it over or jumped it,” Blaine said. Samson had shot up these past few months. He was now almost 100 pounds and mid thigh on Blaine. Blaine took him to the back door and hooked him and pushed him out onto the porch.
“He knocked it over,” Burt said as he walked back into the kitchen.
“Carole I'm so sorry,” Blaine said.
“It's okay Blaine...there's extra,” Carole said. Kurt grabbed the broom and dustpan and handed them to Blaine.
“He's your son,” Kurt said smiling. Blaine gave him an incredulous look.
“You bought him!” Blaine fired back.
“You wanted him,” Kurt replied. Blaine sighed and started cleaning up the mess. Blaine spoiled that dog and let him do whatever he wanted. Kurt didn't and Samson knew that. He went outside to Samson who was sitting on the porch whining.
“I'd make you stay out here but it's too cold, even for your coat, let's go,” Kurt said opening the door. Samson walked slowly in and Kurt unhooked him and held his collar.
“Guys, you might want to move. I need to take him in the back and put him in the back room,” Kurt said.
“You sure you got him?” Finn asked.
“Yes Finn, Kurt's fine. Samson knows better than that,” Blaine said.
“At least one of you do,” Kurt said sticking his tongue out at Blaine. Blaine finished cleaning up as Kurt led Samson away. Kurt put the gate back in and made sure it was secure.
“I can't stay mad at you buddy but you need to cut it out,” Kurt said scratching the dogs ears. Samson barked up at him and he kissed his head.
“Don't tell Blaine I kissed you...I'll never hear the end of it,” Kurt said laughing and going back to his family. The night went by without any problems and once everything was cleaned up Blaine brought Samson into the living room. Sam was having a blast with all of the new people including Burt. Kurt loved every minute and Blaine took his hand. Sam had gotten treats from everybody for Christmas and Blaine and Kurt had gotten him a new dog bed because he was getting big and some treats and toys.
“This will be us with kids one day...” Blaine whispered into his ear.
“One day...not anytime soon though,” Kurt said. Blaine kissed him softly. Kurt blushed and smiled. He saw Annabelle watching them smiling. When they saw everyone out they sat back down on the couch. A heavy weight jumped on him and his face was being licked by the big brute known as Sam.
“Sammy!” Kurt said. Blaine was laughing and pulled Sam off of him. Blaine pushed him off the couch they were on and Sam went back to whatever he had been doing.
“You're welcome,” Blaine said laughing. Kurt smiled and kissed his cheek and put his head on Blaine's chest and wrapped an arm around him.
“Merry Christmas baby...I love you so much,” Kurt said.
“Merry Christmas. I love you too,” Blaine said.
