Author's Notes: Here's an update! :D
Kurt woke up slowly, his muscles stiff from how he had been sleeping. Blaine was still by him with Samson. Kurt smiled down at the dog. He couldn't believe how much Samson loved Blaine. He laid still by Blaine waiting for him to get up. Kurt ran his long, slender fingers at Blaine's hairline and played with the curls. A smile graced his lips and he put his other hand on Samson. Kurt fell back asleep against his best wishes.

“Kurt? Come on honey. Time to get up,” Blaine said. Kurt felt Blaine shift beneath him and he opened his eyes. His head was now on Blaine's chest and Blaine's hand was in his hair.

“I'm up,” he said quietly. He shifted to look up into Blaine's warm, beautiful hazel eyes.

“How are you feeling?” Kurt asked.

“A little better but my cheek hurts. It's not bad though just annoying. I have a slight headache too,” Blaine said.

“Do you want me to get you some aspirin?” Kurt asked. He put a hand up to Blaine's unhurt cheek and rubbed a thumb over it.

“Would you mind?” Blaine asked.

“Of course not. Give me a minute,” Kurt said. He got up slowly and went into the kitchen into the cabinet and got the aspirin and a glass of water. He went back in to see Blaine sitting up with Samson in his lap. Blaine took the pills and gave him the glass back. Kurt sat next to him and put his arms around Blaine and laid his head on his shoulder.

“Thank you,” Blaine said.

“You're welcome,” Kurt replied. Blaine's arm wrapped around him and he sighed.

“Are you okay?” Blaine asked.

“It just...hurt watching you get hit. You told me to stay in the car and I didn't realize who it was until he was off the porch and in front of you and the next thing I know he slapped you. I was so scared that he was going to do worse,” Kurt said feeling the tears welling up.

“I know...it had to hurt but it's over and I'm okay. I figured it was him but I was hoping it wasn't,” Blaine said. Kurt kissed Blaine's neck and stayed like that.

“Want some breakfast?” Blaine asked.

“I'll go make some pancakes. What kind do you want?” Kurt asked.

“I'll go make something. You just relax,” Blaine said.

“No. You relax. Plus...Sammy is content laying there with you,” Kurt said. He got up and went into the kitchen. He turned around in the doorway and saw Sam had decided to lay on Blaine's chest now and Blaine was petting him. He got his phone out and took a picture of them making it his new screen saver. Samson was the best idea he ever had.

Kurt got the pancakes made and ready and brought them into the living room on a tray. He put it on the table and grabbed Samson.

“Let's go. Time to go outside for a bit,” Kurt said. Samson started whining and squirming.

“Would you stop it,” Kurt said getting annoyed. He got to the back door and hooked Samson up and let him out. He went back into the living room and sat by Blaine.

“Sadly when we have kids we can't just tie them up and put them outside,” Kurt said smiling.

“We'll figure out something,” Blaine replied. The doorbell rang and Kurt groaned.

“Why?” he muttered. He went to the door and opened it to see Annabelle.

“Hey Anna,” Kurt said opening the door to let her in.

“Hi. How's everyth—” she stopped when she saw Blaine's face.

“What happened?” she asked worried.

“His father was here last night and we didn't know and Blaine went to speak to him and he backhanded him,” Kurt said. Blaine looked at him silently thanking him and turned to Annabelle.

“We were just about to have breakfast too. Why do you always pop up at the worst times?” Kurt asked laughing.

“Sorry. I wanted to invite you two to a bar with me tonight. Just for some drinks tonight,” she said.

“I'm out,” Kurt said. The last time he did that he screwed up big time and this time him and Blaine aren't hiding. He could only imagine how they'd be if they both got drunk.

“I'll go. It'll be nice to go out for a night,” Blaine said.

“Really?” Kurt asked.

“Yeah. Why not?” Blaine said.

“I don't know...fine...go. For now though we are having breakfast. Anna he'll call you later when he's ready. Bye,” Kurt said hoping she'd take the hint.

“I'll see you later than Blaine!” she said. She left and Kurt closed the door smiling.

“About time,” he said smiling. Blaine shook his head and sat down and they ate. After they finally decided to get ready Kurt told him that they were going to the police to press charges. Blaine wanted nothing more to do with it but it was for the best.
End Notes: Next chapter is going to be angsty too... :)
