He wore a business suit, had gelled back hair, and a warm smile on his face. He walked up to the counter and ordered a coffee. As he paid he glanced over to his side. The hazel eyes connected with Kurt's gray ones. Kurt looked down quickly and started to gather his belongings together. He was too late though. The shadow from the figure loomed over his hunched body and Kurt took a deep breath.
“Hi...” Blaine tentatively said. Kurt put his stuff down and sat straight. The silk voice ran through his mind and Kurt remembered the last time they talked.
“Hey...”
“Is this seat taken?” Blaine asked. Kurt shook his head, surprised, and Blaine sat down opposite of him. He set his drink down on the table and looked over at Kurt. Blaine had gotten his dream. He was a lawyer and doing pretty damn good to be on such a high profile case.
“It's been a while hasn't it?” Blaine said. Kurt nodded and looked down at his coffee once more. Blaine took a sip of his own and Kurt looked up at him. Blaine's eyes narrowed and he set his coffee down slowly.
“What happened to your wrist?” Blaine asked curiously. Kurt felt his stomach literally flopping. The nausea swept over him and he looked down at his wrapped wrist.
“I sprained it yesterday.”
“How?”
“I...I was getting something from a shelf.”
“Where?” Blaine asked.
“Does it really matter? I sprained my wrist. That's all there is to it,” Kurt replied annoyed. Blaine's face fell and Kurt wanted to cry at the sight. All the times Blaine's face had fallen like that was because of him. He really needed to stop hurting this perfect man who had done nothing but heal him.
“I was grabbing a box and it fell. It fell at the wrong angle and hurt my wrist.”
“Ouch...I hope you feel better soon,” Blaine replied. Kurt thanked him and looked out the window of the coffee shop.
“So, what brings you to Florida?” Kurt asked.
“Um...I was working at a firm in New York and I was doing fine. My boss recommended me to a firm down here and after negotiating I had a new job. I moved down here two months ago and my first case is the one you're at,” Blaine replied.
“A domestic violence case...is it your calling?”
“I think it is. I had one like it back in New York and I won the case. I think that's why they let me lead this one. I also found out I might be getting another one,” Blaine replied. Kurt bit his lower lip. Of all things for Blaine to work with it had to be domestic violence!
“And you're here because?” Blaine asked.
“I'm an editor with a publisher. I also work with the local news paper part time. I do a lot of court cases with one of my coworkers.”
“You keep yourself busy don't you?” Blaine asked with a small smile.
“Yeah, I guess you could say that. There's not much to go home to so I like to work,” Kurt replied.
“You're single?” Blaine asked. Kurt's face fell and he closed his eyes. How should he answer that? He didn't know what to do. Thinking about saying yes and seeing the hope that would appear in Blaine's eyes or saying no and watching his eyes get dark and his smile fade away. Kurt didn't want to break him anymore. However, he couldn't lie and risk losing him all over again.
“I...no, I'm not,” Kurt replied feeling his heart break all over again. He glanced up to see the evident pain in Blaine's eyes and he felt his world shatter all over again.
“Oh...how long have you been together?” Blaine asked.
“About a year and a half...”
“Oh...is he good to you?” Blaine asked. Kurt nodded and looked down at his coffee. He checked his phone and gathered his belongings. He had to go and meet Linda now at the courthouse since she obviously wasn't coming here. Blaine stood up too and looked at Kurt shyly. Kurt put his bag on his shoulder and jumped at the arm that wrapped around his shoulders. Kurt tensed up and looked down as Blaine moved away.
“It was good seeing you again,” Blaine said.
“You too,” Kurt replied.
“Look, my number's the same...”
“Okay,” Kurt replied and nodded. He watched Blaine walk away and took a deep breath. He had the chance to tell Blaine everything and help him get out of the rut he was in and he failed. Kurt text the number he kept in his phone all this time and said 'good luck in court'. Blaine replied with a 'thanks' and Kurt put his phone down. A few minutes later another text from him came through. It simply asked 'why?'.

ok so i am done with klaine after what blaine had done but then i thought but your awesome book is up here so i am going to suck it up and read your awesome story and act like blaine never cheated on kurt
Aww, don't give up on Klaine and Blaine! A lot of couples have that problem and I've seen many but the couples have all gotten back together, it took a while for that trust to come back but it did. I honestly think Blaine wasn't thinking and he might not be in the best frame of mind at all. I think it'll take a while but I think Kurt will eventually talk to him. Anywho...thank you so much for coming back! :) Is it really awesome? :D Thank you again, you're a lovely person! :)
