Author's Notes: Thanks for reading!
Blaine rolled out of bed the next morning unwillingly. He needed to make that phone call today. After hearing fighting for about two hours last night he needed out. He grabbed the card and his cell phone and called the number.

“Hello.”

“Hi...is Mr. Hummel available?”

“One moment please.”

“Thanks...”

He sat on the rickety couch and waited for Kurt to pick up.

“Hello?”

“Hi Kurt...it's Blaine.”

“Oh! Hi Blaine! Sorry...I just got back from lunch with my boyfriend. I didn't think you would be calling...it's already late afternoon.”

Boyfriend? So he was gay...but he was taken.

“I had to hear my neighbors fighting for about two hours and I slept in. I don't work today anyway so it doesn't matter.”

“Well, then, can you get here in two hours to make a contract? Rachel really wants to meet you.”

“I can be there. Where exactly am I going?” he asked laughing. Kurt gave him the address and he hung up. A small recording studio in New York City wanted to give him a contract...would it be worth it? As he got up from the couch and looked around the dingy apartment he nodded. After taking a cold shower he got dressed in his best clothes and made his way into the city. He walked until he found the building. He opened the door and went to the main desk.

“Hi...my name's Blaine Anderson...I'm here to meet Mr. Hummel,” Blaine said. The woman nodded and led him down the hall to a door.

“Kurt? Anderson is here,” she said. She left him alone and he walked in. Inside sat three people. Kurt and two women.

“Hey Blaine! This is Rachel Berry, the founder, and her girlfriend, Quinn Fabray, our latest addition.”

“Hi Blaine. It's nice to meet you. I'm Rachel! Kurt was telling us how good you are. And I got to hear you perform over the phone and I must say you have a wonderful voice. I think you and Quinn could do a lovely duet...”

Blaine looked down smiling and shook her hand. Quinn smiled at him kindly as she rolled her eyes.

“Ignore her...she's always saying how good people are but she says she's better,” Quinn said.

Blaine looked at Quinn surprised. Her voice was very soft and had a rhythm to it that suited her lithe frame.

“Do you sing?” Blaine asked Rachel.

“Not on cds...just Broadway. This has been my home for a few years now so I'm okay being here.”

“So! Blaine! Contract time...”

“Which entitles?”

“We're only going to sign you on for one cd, see how it sells, if people like you we'll give you a better contract.”

“Do you write your own stuff?” Rachel asked.

“I prefer to. I don't mind doing covers or other's writings but I try to write my own,” he replied.

“Rachel...make a duet for us...we can release it as a single...if people like it and him then I say sign him on for a cd.”

“We want to at least have him started on a cd though Quinn. Maybe the song could go on his album. We can get you established and then they'll know your name and people will listen to it,” Kurt said.

“What do you say Blaine? One cd...a duet with Quinn...Kurt and I will decide where it goes and then we'll talk to you about a release date and everything you need to know,” Rachel said smiling. Blaine looked down for a second and nodded.

“Great! I'll be in charge of your recording process since Rachel took her and I need somebody to entertain myself with. So just sign this paper and you're set,” Kurt said. Blaine took the paper and signed the line, signing his music off to somebody he just met.

“If you have any songs you would want professionally recorded bring them in tomorrow...”

“I actually have them with me...I wanted your opinion anyway...” Blaine said. Kurt took his folder and went through the sheet music.

“All of this is guitar only?”

“I'm a one man band...”

“You're getting a band now. These songs will pop nicely.”

“Thanks...” Blaine said.

“I'm going to take these and work them out for a band and then we can start tomorrow...sound good?” Kurt asked.

“Sounds great!”

Kurt smiled at him and Blaine looked at his desk. On it sat a picture of Kurt with another man and his stomach churned. He had made a fool of himself last night. Rachel and Quinn walked with him to the main doors and saw him off. Quinn hugged him goodbye and he watched them leave walking hand in hand. He sighed and startled at the hand on his shoulder.

“Oh! Kurt...sorry,” he said.

“It's okay. Miss holding someone's hand?”

“Yeah...my boyfriend...he's dead...”

“Blaine...I'm so sorry...I didn't mean to bring it up,” Kurt said.

“No...don't worry. It's been two years...I've gotten better but the reason I'm so broke now is because I wasted my life away when he passed.”

“What happened? If you don't mind me asking.”

“I don't but I don't want to talk right now...”

“Is that what the song “Holding On” is about? I read the lyrics and thought it was the perfect song for your first single.”

“Yeah...I wrote it after he passed away.”

“I think a person's best writing ability comes at a high or low point in life. I think that was the best song out of all of them. I could hear it in my head...and when you can hear it in your head you know it's going to do good.”

“Thanks...I'll see you tomorrow,” Blaine said walking away. He went back to his apartment and crashed. He looked at his phone. The picture of him and Sebastian still graced his screen.

“I'm getting my big break, hon. I know you'd be proud...I hope your smiling down on me.”

He fell asleep clutching his phone tightly to his chest.

Love it, there's a hell of a lot of '...' in it though, quite off putting. I love it so far though! The last bit with Sebastian as his phone screen made me aw.

It's my style of writing. I'm sorry!
