Kurt followed Blaine's directions through the town of Westerville. He pulled into what seemed like a development and followed the road back. Blaine pointed to the house that was his old home. There were a few cars in the drive way so Kurt parked across the street. He looked over as Blaine sighed and ran a hand through is hair. Kurt leaned over and kissed his cheek.

“What's got you so worked up?” Kurt asked.

“My father is here...you didn't meet him at the wedding. He avoids my mom at all costs except for holidays.”

“Is he usually here for the holiday?”

“Only Thanksgiving,” Blaine replied. They got out of Kurt's car and Kurt took his hand. They walked up to the house and Blaine rang the doorbell. A moment later his mother opened the door. She looked older and more upset compared to when Kurt had seen her at the wedding. She smoothed her shirt and opened the door for them. She hugged Blaine and kissed his cheek. She ushered him into the other room and turned to Kurt. She hugged him tightly and then pulled away.

“Blaine's father is here, which I think he knows, and he's...not as supportive of Blaine as I am. If it gets to be too much I will step in. I hope he leaves soon but I don't know.”

“Okay...I'll make sure he's okay,” Kurt replied. She ushered him into the living room and he saw the man who Blaine resembled the most. He was tall and had dark brown, gelled back hair. When he turned to look at Kurt he saw the blue eyes that Cooper had inherited. Kurt was thankful Blaine had taken after his mother. He saw Blaine holding a little girl who resembled their mother immensely. This must have been his sister who he still hadn't met. If Kurt remembered correctly she was only five. Blaine loved her so much and would talk about her randomly when they were together. Kurt went over to him and smiled at the little girl.

“It's the boy you danced with at Coop's wedding,” she whispered to Blaine thinking Kurt didn't hear.

“It is. This is Kurt! Kurt, this is my little sister Abigail, or just Abby,” Blaine said. She waved at Kurt and he smiled back. Blaine's mother came over to them and took her from them.

“Sorry, your uncle wants to see her and...you know,” his mom said sadly. Blaine nodded and Kurt laced his arm through Blaine's. Suddenly, arms wrapped around them both and they looked back to see Cooper behind him. He pulled away and Blaine hugged him.

“How's the married life?” Blaine asked.

“Wonderful. She's with Grandma in the kitchen helping out.”

“Lucky her. Has dad spoken to you?”

“A little...not much to say though. Just asked how business was and asked when I was going to start having kids. He said, and I quote 'you need to keep the Anderson name going because your pathetic brother won't',” Cooper said.

“No surprise he said that...well, maybe he'll lay off,” Blaine said. As they were talking Abigail ran back over to Blaine. He picked her up and she hugged him tightly.

“Why does nobody like you?” she asked quietly. Blaine looked over at Cooper who smiled and walked away to join his wife.

“Because, I choose to love Kurt and not some girl,” Blaine said.

“Don't you love me?” she asked.

“Of course I love you. You're my little sister. You know how Cooper got married?” Blaine asked.

“Yep! I was the flower girl!” she said smiling brightly and Blaine laughed at her.

“I know you were. Well, I want to marry one day but I want to marry another man, not a girl,” Blaine said.

“Why don't you? Why don't they want you to marry?” she asked.

“I want to one day, but I'm not ready right now. And, they don't want me to marry because they say it's against God's words,” Blaine replied. Kurt put his hand on Blaine's arm and smiled at the girl. She was adorable and had the hazel eyes that Blaine possessed.

“But God tells us to treat others as we would want to be treated and to love everybody.”

“Let's not get into this sweetie...” Blaine said. Kurt had told Blaine he didn't believe in a God. He never told anybody unless he was close to them and they brought up something. He knew Blaine believed in something and had tried to get Kurt to believe in something. Kurt smiled at the little girl who seemed older than just five at the moment. It was children like her who brought hope to the future.

“Okay. Gram and Anna brought the dessert out! Can I go get something?” She asked Blaine. He nodded and set her down. As he did, Kurt saw a man walking over to them.

“Hello, Blaine.”

“Hi, Dad...” Blaine said. Kurt took Blaine's hand in his and looked at the man. He carried himself tall and proud with a smirk.

“How's school and the job?”

“School's going good. The job is decent.”

“That's good. It better be good or I'll stop paying. I'm paying too much for you to go there to only fail,” his father said. Kurt felt Blaine tense next to him and saw another person approaching them. It was Blaine's grandfather, the one who had come after them at Cooper's wedding. He stopped next to Blaine's father and looked at them.

“You're still with him?” his grandfather said. Kurt looked over at Blaine as the words were spoken and saw his brow crease.

“I'm happy with Kurt and I don't plan on breaking up with him.”

“We just want the best for you Blaine,” his father said. Blaine's hold on his hand tightened and he spoke once more.

“Kurt is what's best for me. Come on babe, we're going,” Blaine said turning and walking away. Blaine found his mother and little sister together. Abigail was on her father's lap as they shared a cookie. Christian was amazing with her and looked up at them smiling.

“Hey. What's wrong?” Blaine's mother asked.

“We're leaving...I'm sorry Mom. I'll let you know when winter break is. I may come back for Christmas for a few days,” Blaine said. She hugged Blaine and kissed his cheek.

“Keep in touch. Be careful going home. It was nice seeing you again, Kurt,” she said hugging him once more. They left the house and once they were in the car he noticed Blaine calm down. Kurt reached over and held his hand.

“Well, we weren't there long...” Blaine said.

“Yeah, but it could have gotten worse.”

“I couldn't let it go any further. Sorry...if I come back for Christmas then I'll spend a day with my mom and Christian.”

“Good,” Kurt said starting the car up. The drive back to Lima was slow and they stopped at a coffee shop that was still open. They got some coffee and continued on their way to their hotel room.
