Author's Notes: And....here's chapter 5!! :D Thanks for reading!
Blaine woke up the next morning surprisingly late. He was shocked that Kurt never woke him up. He got up and went into the kitchen. Kurt was busy cooking and he realized why he hadn't been woken up. When Kurt cooked you were best to leave him be. The clock in the kitchen read 12:30 P.M.
“Good afternoon Kurt,” he said going over and putting his arms around Kurt's waist. He kissed Kurt's neck a few times.
“Not now, Blaine. You know better. Let's get everything done and then we can do what we want. Anyway, they'll be here in a few hours and you haven't showered or changed yet,” Kurt said pulling away from him. Kurt was ready for the day but Blaine was still in his sweat pants and tee. He sighed and went to shower. When he was done and ready, he went back into the kitchen to help Kurt. They continued cooking for most of the day and by four were done. A few minutes after Kurt pulled the turkey out of the oven, the doorbell rang. Kurt ran for it before Blaine could move.
“Dad! Carole!”
Blaine loved Kurt's parents. They were so supportive of him and loved him no matter what. Sometimes he envied it, but at least one of them had decent parents. Kurt walked back over to him. Burt and Carole came over and sat on the sofa across from them.
“Finn's on his way. Rachel is waiting to meet up with him and then they'll be over,” Burt said.
“Sounds good,” Kurt said. They all got up to date on what was happening back in Ohio and what Kurt and Blaine were up to. Blaine looked over at Kurt who had the necklace on the outside of his shirt. Burt and Carole would never pick up on it though. Kurt looked over at him. Blaine could tell he was ready to burst and just shrugged his shoulders. Kurt scowled at him and turned away.
“We want to tell you guys something,” Kurt said.
“Don't you want to wait for Finn and Rachel to get here?” Burt asked.
“No. This is for you two right now. It's important,” Kurt said. Blaine moved closer to Kurt and took his hand.
“Spill!” Carole said.
“Blaine asked me to marry him the other night. Of course, I said yes. I've already decided on a fall wedding. I'm working on everything else as soon as the new year rolls around. I want to get this play done and then worry about it,” Kurt said.
“Congratulations you two!” Carole said coming over and hugging them.
“Wait,” Blaine started, “You already decided on fall and didn't ask me?” he said.
“I'm so sorry! Is fall okay?” Kurt asked dejectedly.
“Fall is perfect. As long as it will be outside,” Blaine said. Kurt sat on his lap and put his arms around him and smiled.
“Yes, it will definitely be outside,” he replied. Kurt looked over at his dad who was looking away.
“Dad?”
“I'm so happy for you. I wish you two nothing but the best that life has to offer,” Burt replied to Kurt.
“Your dad already knew. I asked him about two weeks ago,” Blaine told him.
“What?!” Kurt exclaimed.
“Yeaaahh... It was so hard to not ask you that night but I wanted it to be special for you,” Blaine said. Kurt laughed and kissed Blaine. The doorbell rang and Blaine went to get it. Rachel and Finn were finally here. She hugged Blaine and went to see Kurt and started to talk. Finn just smiled at Blaine and walked into the living room. Blaine closed the door and walked back into the room to Kurt.
“Okay. Now to tell you two,” Kurt said. He grabbed Blaine's hand and looked at the two of them.
“Wait. We have something we need to say,” Rachel said. Kurt looked at her puzzlingly.
“Rachel let them go first. You'll like it,” Carole said. Rachel sighed and nodded at them.
“Blaine and I are engaged! He asked me to marry him the other night,” Kurt said giddily. He held up the ring that was hanging around his neck. Rachel looked stunned and then looked ready to cry. “What's wrong Rachel? Aren't you happy for us? Still think you had a chance at Blaine?” he said jokingly.
“Finn asked me to marry him last night when we went out for dinner...”she said almost whispering. Blaine heard the words and felt bad but she shouldn't be upset. It was a coincidence. Finn looked at Rachel and sighed.
“Rachel, it's okay. We have two great things to celebrate tonight and let's just enjoy it,” Finn said. Carole got up and hugged her son.
“Congrats you two. You are so perfect together. Now, let's celebrate!” she said.
“Congratulations Rachel,” Kurt said hugging her. She put her arms around him. Blaine saw the look in her eyes. She was happy for him but she was still upset that her limelight had been stolen.
“Congrats you two,” Blaine said. He was hoping they wouldn't clash with wedding plans after this. They all went into the dining room. Blaine and Kurt were going to set up everything.
“Go on in and set up the wine. I'll help Kurt,” Rachel said. Blaine went in and grabbed the wine and opened the bottle and poured some for everybody and set it back in the ice. He took his seat by Burt. Kurt and Rachel had brought in everything by then. She didn't look happy but Blaine shrugged it off. Kurt sat by him and looked at everybody.
“Tonight is for the both of you,” Burt said looking at Finn and Rachel, then his son and Blaine. They all dug in and gossiped. Rachel was talking about the play and how she wanted to plan out the wedding. Blaine looked at Kurt wondering how he liked all of her plans. He hoped nothing clashed between them.
“I was hoping doing a fall wedding,” Kurt said to her.
“I wanted to do fall. I won't have time until the spring to plan because of this play,” Rachel said.
“Rachel it ends after Christmas. I'm starting my planning in January. You'll have time,” Kurt said.
“Well, I want a fall wedding. September or October,” she said.
“September is my month. Also, I thought you were trying out for a play in February? That will set you behind by a few months,” Kurt said.
“Well since he proposed I wanted to get married first and then work on plays afterwards,” she replied to him.
“Well I call September so do not pick a date then please,” Kurt said.
“We'll see what my schedule is like.”
Kurt tensed up at her reply. Blaine grabbed his hand under the table and squeezed. Kurt looked over at him and smiled at him. Dinner then went by without much hassle. Blaine and Kurt got up to clean up.
“Go watch the game with my dad. I'll take care of the dishes,” Kurt said.
“You sure?” Blaine asked.
“Yes, now go.”
Blaine kissed him and went into the living room. Carole, Rachel, and Kurt took care of all the cleaning up. Blaine sat on the smaller chair to watch the game. Burt had a beer with Finn and they were rooting for their team. Blaine just sat back and watched the game. The girls and Kurt came back into the room. Kurt went and sat on Blaine's lap and put his arms around his neck and laid his head on his shoulder.
“Let's go Burt. It's late and we should be getting home. Rachel wanted to show us their new house not that she has decorated. We leave tomorrow, so we need to go tonight,” Carole said. Burt nodded and got up. Everybody said their goodbyes and Kurt locked the door and came back to Blaine. He put his arms around Blaine.
“I don't care what Rachel says or does. We will have a September wedding,” Kurt said.
“Sounds good,” Blaine said.
“Great,” Kurt said.
“I wanted to ask you something. I've wanted to for a while.”
“Shoot,” Kurt said.
“What do you say about getting a dog?” Blaine asked.
“Not right now. That's going to be a lot of work and I have the play, you have the new teaching job. Let's see how our schedule's work and we can decide then. Plus they can shed like crazy and I have a lot of black clothes,” Kurt said. Blaine laughed and pulled Kurt closer.
“I guess you're right but I’m adamant about getting one,” Blaine said.
Kurt rolled his eyes, but he knew that he would crack and Blaine would get what he wants; Blaine always gets what he wants out of Kurt.
