Kurt drove him and Cooper to a small restaurant on the outskirts of town. It was simple and Kurt loved the placed. After they had ordered their food Cooper took his hand in his and smiled at him. He ran his thumb over Kurt's knuckles. Kurt swallowed the disgust that rose in his throat as he remembered last night and realized he was really leading Cooper on. Maybe breaking up would be for the best right now.

“I love you so much,” Cooper said. Kurt looked at him dumb struck and then smiled lightly.

“I...I love you too,” Kurt said. He felt his heart breaking as he looked at Cooper's smile. Cooper was a nice guy. Sure, they had their moments, all couples did. But he did everything he could to make Kurt happy and loved him so much but was Kurt willing to throw it all away for Blaine? He knew he needed to cut it off with Blaine but he didn't want to. He wanted to break up with Cooper for Blaine but he couldn't do it. He was stuck between heaven and hell and it wasn't fun. Blaine was his heaven and he wanted to stay there.

“I was hoping you would stay over tonight. Just you and I,” Cooper said. Kurt was confused at first and then he realized what Cooper wanted. Kurt nodded and smiled.

“Sure...I'll stay over,” he said. Cooper's grin spread over his face and Kurt smiled at him. When their food arrived they ate in silence until Cooper broke it.

“Are you okay?” he asked. Kurt looked up from his salad startled.

“Yeah...why?” he asked.

“You've been really quiet since my brother came around,” Cooper said shrugging his shoulders.

“Just still surprised I guess...it was a lot to take in when you and me were practically going at it and then all of a sudden there he is on your couch,” Kurt said.

“I know...and I'm really sorry about that,” Cooper said.

“What happened?” Kurt asked.

“What?”

“With your two exes...he told me in the coffee shop the other day that...Nick left you for him and they were together for a while,” Kurt said.

“He's always after my boyfriends. Can't get his own so taking them is all he can think of. Nick broke up with me because they were close and he wanted him over me. They dated for three months until Nick left him for another guy. I was happy he was hurt like I was but then again I felt bad. We spent some time talking about it,” Cooper said.

“And?”

“He told me he was extremely sorry and would try to make it up to me. When Carl came around the same thing was happening...I knew Blaine wasn't doing anything and he didn't like the guy but Carl kept going for him and it ticked me off. Blaine kept telling him to leave him alone but he wouldn't. I had to deal with Carl and then Blaine and I fought for a while and eventually made up when I started dating you. He knew about you the whole time and said I was lucky to find somebody good,” Cooper said.

“He seems very mature for his age,” Kurt said.

“He is. He's a straight A student with a bright future ahead of him. He was actually the one who said that I should wait to introduce you two because he was afraid it would happen again,” Cooper said. Kurt choked on his salad and little and took a drink.

“Are you okay?” Cooper asked. Kurt nodded and then suddenly felt nauseous.

“Go on,” Kurt said.

“He told me to wait until I was certain I was in it for the long haul with you...and I think I am. I want to be with you for a long time...” Cooper said. Kurt felt tears sting his eyes and he looked out of the window.

“Kurt?”

“That was sweet of him...” Kurt said quietly.

“I guess...I was happy he said that and I can tell you don't want him and that makes me so happy...” Cooper said. Kurt looked over at him with a teary smile.

“Let's go...” Cooper said smiling and grabbing his hand. He put money on the table and left with Kurt beside him. Kurt felt his heart breaking with every stride and realizing what he would be doing tonight.

“Yes, Mr. Hummel?” Blaine asked as he walked over and into his office.

“Sit,” he said. Blaine took the seat across from his desk waiting nervously for him to talk. Cooper's line of showing Kurt a good night kept playing in his mind.

“Listen...I can't tell you or my son what to do but you two need to talk and think things out. Your brother has been hurt before...I will not sit back quietly and watch Kurt do this to him and himself...or you,” Burt said.

“I know...I want to be with Kurt and he wants me but he's torn...I'll talk to him,” Blaine said.

“You're a smart kid Blaine and I don't want to see you make a mistake like this and have it cost you family. Kurt is in New York until who knows when after these few weeks...can you really do that?” Burt asked. Blaine looked down at the ground and nodded.

“I'll talk to him Burt...tomorrow when we meet for coffee,” Blaine said. Burt nodded and looked at the wall.

“Go finish the car and then leave,” Burt said. Blaine nodded and got up making his way to the door. He turned and looked back at Burt.

“I'm sorry about this...I really, really like Kurt and only want the best for him. If ending it is for the best...I'll do what needs to be done,” Blaine said.

“Don't necessarily break it off with him...I see a look in his eyes with you that I haven't seen him have with Cooper since they started dating. Kurt seems a lot happier with you than him. Kurt needs to see that he's not happy with Cooper and needs to do what's best for him and Cooper,” Burt said. Blaine nodded and returned to his brother's car and putting the new belt on.
