Kurt sat at his table Tuesday morning waiting on Blaine. They had given each other their phone numbers on Sunday when Blaine left so they could text each other. They decided to meet this morning here yesterday through a text. Kurt felt everything in his chest constrict when he saw Blaine walk into the shop and order a coffee. When he got his order he made his way to Kurt. Kurt smiled up at him and Blaine sat across from him. Under the table Blaine grabbed his hand and Kurt squeezed it.
“Thanks for showing up...” Blaine said.
“Of course...” Kurt replied. Blaine let his hand go and opened up his bag. He pulled out a biscotti.
“Seriously, are you sure you're eighteen?” Kurt asked.
“Yes I am...just mature I guess,” Blaine said smiling. Kurt looked at him and smiled.
“So...down to business. What are we?” Kurt asked.
“We could be together...it'd either be you break up with Cooper or...behind his back,” Blaine said. Kurt hated hearing that last part. He didn't want to do this behind Cooper's back but he knew Cooper would hate him, forever, if he told him he wanted Blaine and not him.
“I can't break up with him...it'd kill him,” Kurt said.
“Well then...he doesn't need to know who you're with if you two break up. Cut all ties with him. Tell him you and I kept in touch and eventually met up and started to date,” Blaine said.
“That wouldn't work until the fall when you come to New York for school,” Kurt said. Blaine looked down and then back at him.
“I want you no matter what I have to do. I'll do anything,” Blaine said.
“Why?” Kurt asked.
“Because, you're beautiful, amazing, sweet, caring, kind, and over all one of the best men I've ever met. You're eyes are every different color and I love that. Your smile lights up your face and I can't get enough of it...” Blaine said. Kurt fell harder for him with this and then smiled a teary smile.
“Why me?” Blaine asked. Kurt shifted in his seat and sighed.
“You're everything Cooper isn't. Your smile is so much kinder than his. Your eyes are warmer than his. Your voice is so much smoother than his and you actually give a damn about yourself and others,” Kurt said. Blaine looked at him happily and nodded.
“And your hair...I love those curls so much and I wish you wouldn't gel them so much,” Kurt said laughing.
“Thank you? I hate my curls...I actually planned on cutting my hair shorter but I'll let it go,” Blaine said.
“Why? If you hate it then cut it,” Kurt said.
“You like it...and I won't cut it if you like it,” Blaine replied simply.
“It's really okay if you cut it,” Kurt said.
“I'll let it go,” he said. Kurt shook his head smiling.
“I need to go...school soon. Have a good day,” Blaine said kissing Kurt's cheek and then leaving. Kurt pulled out his phone and called a familiar number.
“Hey Kurt!”
“Hi Carol. Can I come over to talk?” he asked.
“Of course!” she said.
“I'll be there soon,” Kurt said.
“Okay. See you soon honey,” she said hanging up. Kurt drove there as fast as possible and felt his heart breaking as he got closer. He pulled into the drive way and parked his car on the side. He got out and walked up to the door. Carol opened it and let him in. He sat on the couch and she looked at him and sat on a chair.
“What's wrong Kurt?” she asked worried.
“I did something really stupid,” Kurt said shakily.
“What honey?” she asked.
“I cheated on Cooper,” he said.
“What?” she asked.
“I cheated on Cooper!” he replied crying now.
“With who?”
“His...his little brother.”
“His...Kurt his little brother? How old is his little brother?”
“Eighteen. He's a senior in high school. He was staying with Cooper for the weekend and we ended up at Scandals and I kissed Blaine...and then later that night we kind of...hooked up,” Kurt said. Carol looked at him worried and then upset.
“I thought you loved Cooper,” she said.
“I do...I have to hide it though...his last boyfriend left him because he liked Blaine...”
“Blaine?”
“That's his brothers name,” Kurt said.
“A Blaine Anderson works with your dad at the shop,” she said.
“No...” Kurt deadpanned.
“Yes...he's been working there since the summer.”
“This is all messed up,” Kurt said.
“Did Blaine return the feelings to this other guy?” she asked.
“No...he told him to leave him alone and didn't want him. I don't think Cooper trusts him though. I never heard of a brother until last Friday,” Kurt said.
“Well, Kurt, all I can say is follow your heart and mind...do what's best for you and those two boys,” Carol said. Kurt nodded and wiped his eyes.
“I'm going to go talk to dad,” he said getting up.
“Be careful...” she said as he left. He nodded and got in his car and drove to the shop. He pulled in and got out. His dad walked out to him smiling.
“Hey bud,” he said.
“Hi dad,” he replied.
“What's wrong?” he asked.
“I did something really, really, stupid,” Kurt said looking down.
“What?”
“I cheated on Cooper...” Kurt said. He looked at his dad's shocked face and sighed.
“Kurt...how could you do that? Cooper asked you to move in with him in the summer! You need to tell him,” Burt said.
“Dad...it was his little brother,” Kurt said. Burt's jaw dropped and he looked at Kurt angry now.
“What's his name?” Burt asked. Kurt felt his heart stop and he didn't know what to say.
“His name is Blaine...” Kurt said. Burt looked at him angrier than ever. Just then a car pulled up by Kurt's and of course out stepped Blaine. Burt went over to him and glared at Blaine.
“What the hell is your problem? You slept with my son?” Burt asked. Blaine looked over at him confused and then surprised.
“Dad, stop!” Kurt said.
“No! He willingly slept with you knowing you were with Cooper!” Burt said.
“Dad! I had a part in this too. I chose to do this! I was okay with it!” Kurt said. Burt looked at him angry and then sighed holding the bridge of his nose.
“I should fire you,” Burt said pointing at Blaine. Blaine shrank back and looked at Kurt.
“Dad don't...Cooper's last boyfriend left him for Blaine...Blaine did not like him at all and the guy left them alone. Cooper hates it but Blaine didn't do anything with the guy and now he actually has and I don't know what to do,” Kurt said crying again.
“You need to cut it off with Cooper and tell him the truth. He may hate you both but sneaking around is much worse,” Burt said. Kurt looked down at the ground. Blaine's arms wrapped around him, holding him tightly to his chest.
“I want to dad but I don't know how,” Kurt said.
“Decide and do it soon...I can tell you two are planning something and I might not like it,” Burt said.
“I'll think about it dad,” Kurt replied.
“And Anderson! Get punched in and get to work!”
“Go...meet me at my place for dinner? I'll write the address down and put it in your car,” Kurt said.
“Yeah...I'll be there,” Blaine said smiling. Kurt kissed him and then moved away.
“Have fun,” Kurt said. Blaine snorted and left him alone. Kurt did as he said and put his address in Blaine's car. Kurt sighed and walked to his car and drove to his small house in Lima.
