Blaine laid curled up on the bed in Erica's house. He stared at the side wall and out the window if he felt like it. Erica had left over an hour ago to go talk to Kurt, find out what was wrong. She hadn't called or come back yet and Cooper was out hunting.
When he heard the front door close he looked towards the door expectantly. It opened and Erica slinked into the room. She looked like she'd been crying and then sat on the bed with Blaine.
“Well?” he asked.
“He said he knows about our little trips. I don't know what he means though...”
“What did you say?”
“I told him we don't know what he's talking about and then he said he was sick of talking to us because we never talked to him. I called him a brat, selfish, and childish saying he never lets you have room to breathe or do your own thing.”
“Erica, that's my decision. I choose to be with him all the time.”
“I shouldn't have called him a brat...I should have walked away or shut up and see if he would have told me. You and I never took any trips without him...he said he knows about us...” she replied.
“Shit!”
“What?” she asked, worried.
“I know what he's talking about...”
“Um...enlighten me?”
“Rio, Erica. He found out about Rio.”
“How? That was years before we met him,” she replied.
“His mother and him were talking. Maybe she heard us one day or found out somehow. I knew she was being this!” he hissed.
“We haven't talked about it Blaine...she must have found out somehow...” Erica replied confused.
“We need to go see him...we need to explain this to him,” Blaine said as he sat up.
“Blaine...Kurt's not going to listen right now. Give it a few days and then we'll see what happens...” she replied. He sighed and laid back down. Erica started to lay down by him but he shook his head.
“I just want to be alone...” Blaine said when he saw the hurt on her face. She looked away from him and nodded. She stood up and left the room. Blaine rolled over and curled up on his side and let the fresh tears fall.
A few days after their talk Blaine felt something weird in the bond. It was...worry but contempt. Then it turned into pure fear and then Blaine felt nothing. He sat up in bed in shock and tried to feel for Kurt. The bond hadn't been severed but Kurt was not awake at all and he barely slept anyway. He got off the bed and ran into Cooper.
“Something's wrong...” Blaine said quietly.
“Let's go out,” Cooper replied and they left the house. They went to a 24 hour diner and got seated. Blaine kept looking out the window worried. There was still nothing from Kurt's end and it scared him.
“Now, what's going on?”
“I'm mad,” Blaine replied. Cooper just chuckled and shook his head. Blaine sent a glare his way and Cooper put his hands up in defeat.
“Blaine...”
“I'm serious. Erica said some things to Kurt and he threw her out and got nothing.”
“So, we still don't know what's going on?”
“Well, I figured it out...”
“Oh? What's going on then?”
“Kurt found out about a time in my life, this life, that I went to Rio with Erica. I...was confused and didn't know what happened and the next thing I know Erica and I started sleeping together. We told her family in Rio that we were together and one thing just led to another...”
“You're kidding...” Cooper replied, his jaw slack and eyes wide.
“I'm not. It went on for a while but then it stopped. We just...stopped...and years, I mean years, after that I met Kurt...”
“Aww, Blaine...I still love the story of you two,” Cooper replied with a smile.
“I don't regret my days with Erica...she was one of the first people who made me feel after everything...we just joke around now about it. We'd never told Kurt...that's why he's mad.”
“You need to talk to him...”
“I know. Erica said it might help to give him a few days...”
“Well, it's been a week...why don't we go over?” Cooper asked. Blaine nodded and they paid for their drinks and left. They ran to the house and when they got there everything was off. Blaine tried the door but it was locked. He pulled his key out and unlocked it. He walked into the house waiting to hear or see Kurt. But nothing. He looked to the floor. Kurt's bags were all packed and sitting and waiting to go. There was one problem.
“His scent is stale...” Blaine said. Cooper nodded and walked around the house. Blaine ran up to the rooms and looked in each. Each were the same as when he left. He went downstairs and saw Cooper looking around worried.
“It ends in the kitchen just before the door. There's three other scents with his. His mother and two other vampires I don't know...” Cooper said.
“There's two scents I know and two I don't know...” Blaine replied.
“What?”
“Our friends Nick and Jeff were here but the smell is older than Kurt's...these other two scents are just as fresh as Kurt's.”
“Blaine?”
“Something happened to him. He's gone. Who would take him?” Blaine asked starting to shake.
“Blaine...calm down. We don't know...he could have just left...”
“Without any of his things? Without anything? I doubt that. His mother had something to do with this!” Blaine hissed. Blaine's phone started ringing and he pulled it out. It was Kurt's picture on the screen, one had Blaine had taken a while ago.
“Hello?” he answered.
“Mr. Anderson?”
“Who is this? Where's Kurt?!”
“I think you know me quite well. You stole something from me that I love a long time ago and I want it back. So, I stole something of yours that you love.”
“Who are you?”
“You'll know soon enough. The boy's mother will be at your house tomorrow. Be there with the item and come with her. Then you'll get what you love most,” the man said and ended the call. Blaine growled and his hold on the phone tightened. Cooper snatched it from Blaine and hugged his brother. Blaine cried into Cooper's shoulder being held until the sobs subsided.
“You may be hundreds of years old but you're still young and I will do anything to protect you and Kurt.”
“Thank you...” Blaine replied. Cooper let him go and they left the house. Blaine knew where he needed to get and what he needed to get. Blaine called Erica and told her where to meet. Him and Cooper got there first and waited. It was something he would need to explain to Cooper soon.
