Author's Notes: Here's chapter 2! Thanks for reading!
Kurt opened his eyes slowly. His head or his teeth didn't hurt anymore and he was thankful for that. He found himself curled up in blankets and no Blaine around him. He shot up and pushed the blankets off. He looked around wildly and noticed the shades were closed and it was dark out. Kurt got off the bed and looked out slowly. No Blaine. He sniffed the air but his scent was stale. He'd been gone for a while.
“Blaine?” Kurt asked. He became frantic and looked into the bathroom. Still no Blaine. He went to the door and tried to open it but it was locked. Kurt felt tears sting his eyes. Blaine had left him. He had just been turned and Blaine left him. He slid down the wall and felt the hot tears slip out of his eyes and down his cheeks. After a few minutes of crying he heard somebody walking down the hall. He moved back slowly to the window and watched the door open.
Blaine was coming in carrying a limp body. He set it down in the corner where the other girl had been last night. Blaine looked up at him and fear shot across his face. Before he blinked Blaine was in front of him. Blaine took his face in his hands and kissed his cheek.
“Are you okay? What happened?” Blaine asked.
“I...It sounds so...so stupid but...I...I thought you left me...” Kurt choked out between his tears. Blaine took him into his arms and cooed to him.
“I did leave but only to get you some food. I promise I will never leave you,” Blaine said. Kurt nodded and looked over to the corner.
“She's younger than the last one Blaine...”
“I know. It was the best I could do though. She was completely alone. It was easier,” Blaine said shrugging. Kurt looked down and put his head on Blaine's chest.
“Feed...we need to leave when you're done. I need to burn the house down.”
“Why?” Kurt asked. He loved this house. It was perfect.
“There needs to be an excuse that you and me are gone. The house will burn down and people will think we perished,” Blaine said softly. Kurt gasped and pulled away from him. Anger and sadness were pulsing through him.
“Why? Can't we just disappear?” he spit out at Blaine.
“No! Because you're dad will look for you and I'll be wanted for kidnapping you! At least if our cars were here and the house was burned they'd think we were dead,” Blaine said.
“My dad though...he wouldn't be able to stand knowing...I died...” Kurt said.
“Better than you vanishing and him worrying about finding you. Kurt I have a better home for us until we can come back here,” Blaine said. Kurt glared at him and crossed his arms.
“Feed,” Blaine ordered. Kurt glared up at him but at the sight of those hazel eyes his walls went down and he complied. Kurt moved over to the girl with Blaine behind him and knelt down beside her. Blaine put his hand over her mouth and Kurt bit into her neck. He felt the warmth of the blood pool in his mouth and he sucked. Not as much fell down his chin but some did. When he finished he pulled away and wiped his chin clean and looked at Blaine. Blaine was picking her up and taking her out of the door. Kurt stayed there and waited. He felt satisfied. He didn't realize he had wanted to feed so bad.
“Blaine?” he asked as he saw the figure of him come into the room.
“Yes?”
“Where are we going?” Kurt asked.
“Dalton.”
“Where?”
“It's a place in Westerville. It's a Coven almost. Vampires can stay there if they're just passing through or can live there. It's huge. I have an apartment there still for whenever I need to leave. It's where all of my friends are,” Blaine said. Kurt nodded and looked down.
“Will I like it?”
“Of course! Dalton is amazing! It's where mainly newborns go also. You start your life out there and decide if you want to leave or stay and work. My friends live there and sometimes help out. Most of them will travel then come back,” Blaine said. Kurt smiled and sat back against the wall.
“Tired?” Blaine asked.
“Yeah...just a little,” Kurt said.
“I'm not surprised. You kept waking up every now and then,” Blaine said. Kurt shrugged and watched as Blaine started packing things.
“I went back to your house and grabbed clothes for you. You only packed for a weekend but I got the stuff your dad wouldn't notice,” Blaine said. Kurt looked up and saw the three duffel bags on the floor. Kurt felt the tears threatening to overflow again.
“What have I done?” Kurt asked. Blaine was by him instantly and holding him.
“You did nothing,” Blaine said.
“I have to 'die' to just be with you,” Kurt said while sobbing. He put his face into the crook of Blaine's neck. Blaine was holding him close and rubbing a hand up and down his back.
“You made a choice Kurt that you thought was good. I supported you no matter what decision you made. Sadly, this is how it has to be until your generation and family are dead,” Blaine said. Kurt felt regret well up in his chest.
“Why do I regret this...?” he said.
“It's how all newborns feel Kurt. You get over it once you realize what this new life has to offer you,” Blaine said. Kurt cried for a while longer and finally his eyes dried. Blaine got up and pulled Kurt up.
“Are you ready?” Blaine asked.
“No...but whatever needs to be done,” Kurt said sighing. Blaine picked up his bags and Kurt grabbed one and they walked out from the bedroom and downstairs. Blaine put his bags down and took a hold of Kurt's arm and walked to the door.
“Behave...everything will be new to you and you'll be curious and ready to just fly but you need to stay with me,” Blaine said warningly. Kurt shrunk back and nodded scared. He was led outside towards a black car. Kurt took a deep breath. The smells filled his nose and intoxicated him. Everything smelled fresh and new. It smelled like the spring time. Everything being reborn from the cold, harsh winter. Kurt tried pulling away a few times but Blaine had pulled him back. The last time he tried pulling away Blaine held him tighter. Kurt looked over and glared at him.
“Enough,” Blaine said and his hazel eyes hardened. Kurt felt something in him stop what it was doing and he stopped and walked to the car without any more hassle. He put Kurt in the car and brought his bags out.
“Be patient,” Blaine said as he put the bags in the back seat. Kurt watched him go in the house. A few minutes later he watched the house go up in flames. Where was Blaine? He started getting worried and tried the door. It was locked. The next thing he knew Blaine was in the driver's seat and starting the car.
“The house is away from others for about a mile. Nobody will notice until it's burned down completely,” Blaine said. Kurt nodded and looked away from the house. Many of his best days were spent there. Kurt sighed and tried not to look back at the burning house. He felt a piece of him shattering as it went down all of a sudden.
“It was the only way?” Kurt asked.
“Honestly, it was the only way we could really pull this off without a problem. The house will be so far gone they'll give up on looking for bodies,” Blaine said. Kurt sighed and looked out of the window at the stars. They looked amazing with his heightened sense. They burned brightly in the sky and Kurt loved how they looked.
“Beautiful aren't they?” Blaine asked.
“They are,” Kurt said. He looked over at Blaine and smiled. He kissed his cheek and smiled.
“Not as beautiful as you though,” Kurt said trying to move closer to him. Blaine chuckled and kissed his head.
“They're not as beautiful as you either,” Blaine said. They continued on in silence. Kurt wanted to fall asleep but Blaine pulled into a drive way after about an hour.
“This is a friends house. He said we can use it until we get to Dalton,” Blaine said. Kurt looked at the little house. It was almost like Blaine's old house.
“Whose is it?” Kurt asked.
“His name is David. We're around the same age,” Blaine said. Kurt nodded and got out with him. Blaine took a hold of him and led him up to the porch.
“I can walk myself,” Kurt said grumpily.
“Not taking that chance,” Blaine shot back. Kurt sighed and complied. Inside there was another man. Kurt didn't know who this was. He looked at Blaine happily.
“I got two lovely people waiting in the guest room. One for you and one for him,” David said pointing at Kurt. He instinctively moved closer to Blaine and held onto him.
“Don't worry Kurt. He wouldn't hurt you. David this is Kurt,” Blaine said.
“It's a pleasure to meet you Kurt. It's nice to finally meet you. I've heard so much about you from Blaine,” David said.
“It's nice to meet you too...” Kurt said. Blaine pulled him into the guest room and he saw two people out cold. A woman and a man. He assumed they were a couple by the matching wedding bands. Blaine sat him on the bed and went to the man and fed from him. Kurt waited for him to finish and then Blaine took him to the girl. Kurt fed and then they left the room. David was sitting on the chair facing them.
“All ready?” he asked.
“We are...thanks David,” Blaine replied.
“See you at Dalton Kurt,” David said and then he was gone. Kurt hated how fast they were. Blaine led him back outside and Kurt looked over at him.
“Let me go? Trust me please...it's not that far,” Kurt said. Blaine eyed him carefully and let him go. Kurt used the speed he now possessed to get to the car faster. Next thing he knew Blaine had his hands possessively on his arms and had him pinned against the car.
“You said to trust you and you bolt like that?” Blaine hissed.
“I was coming to the car,” Kurt replied.
“I didn't know that! I thought you were trying to run. Kurt the highway is there and people are around us. Somebody could see you!” Blaine growled back.
“I wasn't going to Blaine! I was coming to the car. I wanted to see what the speed is like,” Kurt bit back.
“How am I supposed to know you aren't going to bolt? You're new to these skills and you could take advantage of them,” Blaine replied.
“I said trust me! You should have trusted me!” Kurt replied hotly.
“I do trust you! Not as a newborn though...you'll say you're only going to do this but because of the heightened senses you'll be doing something else. Just let me keep a hand on you until you get used to this new life,” Blaine said. Kurt glared at him hotly and sighed.
“I'm sorry...” Kurt said feeling his eyes fill up with tears. Blaine kissed him and sighed.
“I'm sorry I got mad...I didn't mean to. I'm just worried about you. I don't want to see you hurt,” Blaine said. Kurt nodded and Blaine let him get in the car. Blaine got in the driver's seat and he started the car and pulled back onto the highway towards Dalton.
