The next few days passed in a blur. Blaine had some shows throughout California that he would perform and then come back to Kurt's house. He went to one of the shows to support Blaine. Now, Blaine's tour was getting ready to leave California for the east coast. Kurt was walking down the sidewalk to the small cafe Blaine always went to. He opened the door and walked in seeing Blaine already at a table. He had a simple outfit on with a black messenger cap on. Kurt walked over to the table smiling at him.
“Hey!” Blaine said happily as he sat down at the table. His hand reached over and took Kurt's for a few seconds and then let go. They'd managed to stay under the radar for the past few days which was surprising.
“Hey. Thank you,” Kurt said taking his coffee from Blaine. A young woman brought over a sandwich to Blaine and set it down and turned to Kurt.
“Anything for you, sir?” she asked.
“No, thank you, I'm okay,” he replied. She smiled and walked away leaving them alone once more.
“Excited?” Kurt asked.
“I guess you could say I am. It's my first tour since the mini one I had with you,” Blaine said. Kurt nodded at the memory from when Blaine's first CD had come out.
“Are you excited?” Blaine asked.
“Why would I be? You know I'm happy you're going out and doing what you love but...I'm not going to be with you. We get back together and you're going to be gone for a few months,” Kurt said.
“Guess that leaves us with one option,” Blaine replied. Kurt's heart plummeted in his chest with those words. They didn't need to break up! Kurt cracked his knuckles nervously.
“You join me on the tour. Front row every night or you could explore the cities we'll be in,” Blaine said. Kurt let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding. A smile slowly made it's way on his face and he took Blaine's hand once more.
“I'd love to join you,” he replied. Blaine smiled and looked around them and leaned in to quickly kiss Kurt.
“Just like old times,” Blaine said.
“Just like old times...” he mused. They left the cafe together, Blaine putting on sun glasses and holding Kurt's hand. They walked down the sidewalk slowly, Kurt looking around eagerly. He'd been here a while but he didn't get to all of the stores. So, when Kurt saw a store he wanted to look in Blaine went with him and bought whatever he wanted.
“I'm meeting with my manager today. It's important. We need to go to his office,” Blaine said hesitantly.
“Why?” Kurt asked confused.
“I'm firing him...”
“What?! Why?”
“I want somebody else who will actually help me,” Blaine said looking at Kurt.
“Like? Do you have somebody already?”
“Kind of.”
“Who?”
“You...if...if you want it.”
“Blaine...why? We just got back together. Who knows if we'll stay together or not...”
“I know but...I would much rather you handling me and my career. I'm a fuck up, Kurt. The one thing I tried my hardest to avoid and let go has become my world once more. He's doing shit for me and encouraging it more...I need somebody who's good for me.”
“Blaine...are you certain? Do you really want me to?”
“Yes. Please?”
“Of course,” Kurt replied. His hand tightened around Blaine's as they walked to Blaine's car. He opened the trunk and Kurt put his bags in.
“Thank you, for buying me all of this,” Kurt said and gave him a chaste kiss. Blaine replied and smiled at him and got into the car.
Hours later, the meeting was done and Kurt was signed as his new manager. He got everything he needed from Blaine's old manager and went through all of it at Blaine's house that night. He had events lined up for Blaine that were perfect with the tour but some conflicted. Kurt canceled them and then moved on to other things.
Arms wrapped around his neck and a kiss was placed on his neck softly. He sat back and looked up at Blaine standing above him. Blaine leaned down and they kissed. He closed up the folders and put them into his bag and stood up.
“I need to head home. You leave in two days so I need to pack,” Kurt said.
“I don't want you to go though...”
“I do...sorry babe. I'll see you tomorrow though. You can come over and we can make it a day in and order pizza,” Kurt suggested as he walked to the front door. Blaine pulled him back, hugging him and kissed him once more.
“I'll be there. Good night,” Blaine said as Kurt left. Kurt couldn't hide the smile on his face as he walked down to his car that was parked down the street.
I don't know how these things work but I wanted Kurt to take over his career before he left for the tour! :)
