It was 3am when it started.

Kurt was sleeping when he heard a groan. Then he felt Blaine roll of the side or the bed and run to the bathroom. There was about 10 seconds between the last footstep and the splash of something hit the floor.

"Great" mumbled Kurt, pulling himself out of bed. This was all he needed.

When he reached the bathroom he couldn't help but gag, Blaine was leaning over the sink with a puddle of vomit around him. Blaine looked at him, his eyes red and watery.

"Oh honey" Kurt reached forward to touch Blaine's forehead, forgetting to be disgusted and just wanting Blaine to feel better. The guy was finally getting his maternal instinct, if that was even possible.

"Feel awful." Blaine's voice was really weak and shaky.

"I know baby, do you want to stay here or go back to bed?"

"Bed."

Kurt let Blaine lean on him on their way back to the bedroom. Kurt tucked his husband up the same way he does every night for Lola, got him a bottle of water and said a silent prayer that this was a one off thing.  Then he had the wonderful task of cleaning up the bathroom. Yeah, Kurt really hoped this was a one off thing.

At 5am, Kurt was just falling asleep again when the bedroom door creaked open. Lola stood in the door holding her blanket and stuffed rabbit like they were her lifeline, the little girl was pale.

"Papa? Dada? Feel icky..."

"Oh no....please not another one." Kurt mumbled into his pillow before sitting up.  "Hey sweetie, what's the matter?"

"Icky." Lola walked over to the bed before reaching her arms up so Kurt could lift her into the bed, this being the girl who ran in to that very room every Saturday and threw herself on to the bed.  She really was sick.

Kurt held onto her for a little while, waiting for the moment he had to jump out of bed holding Lola and run to the bathroom.  It came and went a lot easier than Kurt had expected.

Lola cried for a little while before falling asleep between her parents.

"If they both sleep, they won't be crying or puking, please god, no loud noises"  Sure Kurt felt bad his husband and daughter were sick, but a little part of him, the selfish part, didn't want to have to deal with them yet.

At 7.30 Tyler came shuffling into the bedroom, Kurt was already awake and looking at Vogue.

"Sick, just threw up, not drunk, not going to school."

"Go back to bed Ty, your dad and Lola are sick too."

Tyler didn't need to be told twice, Kurt herd him close his bedroom door. Great, so it really was three against one. Kurt. Was. Screwed.

******

Kurt felt like he was taking care of three kids. Lola wanted juice, Tyler wanted tea and Blaine just wanted to be held. How was he married to the most childish of all the patients?

After changing the millionth set of bed sheets and pajamas Kurt sat down and called the doctor.

"Hi, this is Kurt Anderson. I was wondering if I could speak to Dr. Glassman please? I have a problem regarding my family.

"Sure." Said the receptionist in a strong Brooklyn accent. "But I should let you know, many people have been contacting us with reports of a 24hour flu outbreak. Is it possible that that's what your problem is?"

"Yeah, probably, thank you for your time."

"No problem sir. We suggest drinking lots of fluids and sleeping as much as possible."

So exactly what Kurt had been making his family do all day then. "Thank you for your help."

Kurt hung up the phone and went up stairs to find Blaine and Lola watching Finding Nemo. Well Blaine was watching. Lola was tolerating. She was a really opinionated kid who had a strong sense of what she liked and didn't. Kurt had a feeling she was watching it to please her dad.

Wow, Kurt really was married to a big kid.

The rest of the day flew by and by bed time, Lola was already feeling better, Tyler had rushed off around 8 to be at Hannah's bed side because she was sick too and Blaine was up playing some X-Box thing against Sam and Finn. Kurt really did have the most incredible family.

******

At 5am Kurt woke up with a cold sweat across his face. He felt vile.

Looked like he was going to have a day of bed rest with three people rallying around him.

End Notes: My sister's boyfriend is sick so this is what she had to deal with, I guess that was my inspiration. Also I really love caring!Kurt.
