Blaine arrived back home from New York Sunday afternoon, thankfully he was in a part of the plane where there weren’t many people. He couldn’t stop thinking about Kurt’s face when he told him he cheated, he broke Kurt’s heart. Thankfully he was alone and he silently cried the way home. He knew that the glee club would most likely know what happened by Monday. word travels like wildfire there. He knew they would all have a problem with him and he’d be alone. He would transfer back to Dalton, but one, he was class president and two, his father won’t let him, especially when he gave him his reason. He hasn’t felt this alone since Freshmen year. He has no one to go to, he lost his rock. He had one person he could go to, not sure sure how it’d go but he dialed the number anyway.
“Hey Squirt!” greeted Cooper. Since Cooper’s last visit, they’ve gotten closer.
“Hey.” He replied, trying not to let his emotions show.
“What’s wrong?” asked Cooper.
“Nothing.” He lied.
“Yeah okay, nice try Squirt. Now spill.” demanded Cooper
“Nothing Coop!” he said “What I can’t call my brother without there being something wrong?”
“Uh, yeah, you can. But I can tell that there’s something wrong. What is it?” Cooper Asked. “Fight with Dad?”
“No!”
“Did Kurt put bronzer in your moisturizer again?”
“No! He hasn’t done that since the Chandler incident!”
“You and Kurt get into a fight?” He was silent on the other line. “Blaine?” Cooper asked “You okay? Did something happen?”
He tried to hold back his tears but let out a sob. “Oh my god Blaine, what happened?”
He tried to steady his breathing and said “C-Coop! I- I have n-no one to go to. I-I know y-you’re b-busy, but I need you, Coop!” He sobbed. “I-I need my b-brother!”
Cooper grabbed his computer “Blaine, it’s ok breathe buddy.”
He was trying but he couldn’t “I-I c-ca-can’t Coop.” He sobbed.
“Shh.” Cooper soothed “I’m booking the next flight, it’s at 10, I’ll be there around five.”
Blaine continued sobbing. Coop knew whatever it was, it was bad. “You do-don’t need to c-come w-we can just s-skype.” he said in between sobs.
“No way little brother. You need me. I haven’t been there like I should have, I’ll be there soon.”Blaine was still crying. “Shh, it’s gonna be okay! But you need to calm down, you’ll give yourself a panic attack.” He tried to even out his breathing. “Good, just like that Squirt.” Cooper said as he threw clothes in a bag and headed out the door. “I’m on my way to the airport now, my flight leaves in an hour. Go take a bath or a shower and just relax okay?”
“Okay.”
Coop got to LAX about twenty minutes later and was still on the phone trying to keep his brother relaxed. “Okay Squirt, I’m at the airport, I’ve gotta go. I’ll be there soon okay? Just relax.”
“Okay. T-Thank you C-coop.”
Cooper smiled sadly. “You’re welcome, I’ll be there soon. I love you.”
“Love you too. S-see you soon.” They hung up and Cooper’s flight was called and he boarded.
Blaine put his phone on his bedside table, he realized he’d be telling Coop what happened, he’s gonna be so angry. He turned on his iPod on his iHome, playing Teenage Dream, Candles, Perfect and Somewhere Only We Know on constant repeat. He just laid there and cried. Coop arrived at four texting Blaine telling him he landed and was on his way. He stopped and picked up ice cream and cheese cake. When he got home he heard the end of Perfect and Somewhere Only We Know, and knew it was bad. He put his bag in his room and went to Blaines. He was lying on his bed hugging Margaret Thatcher dog to his chest crying staring at pictures of Kurt.
“Hey Squirt.” he said making his presence known. “I’m here! I come bearing cheesecake and icecream.” Blaine looked at him and ran into his arms sobbing “Woah.” he said not expecting that.
“Coop I-I” Blaine sobbed. Cooper held his little brother. “Shh it’s okay Blaine, I’m here it’s okay. Come on.” he said leading him to the bed. “You’re okay, you’re okay.” He let his little brother sob until they turned to hiccups. “You wanna tell me what’s got you so upset?”
Blaine clung to his brothers shirt. “I-I did som-something bad Coop.”
He nodded “OKay, I’m sure it’s nothing that bad. Judging by the way you were clutching Margaret Thatcher dog and staring at Kurt with your Kurt playlist, I’m guessing it’s got to do with him.”
Blaine nodded “Yeah, it’s about him.”
“What happened?” he asked.
Blaine looked down “Y-you’ll hate me.”
“No, I won’t I could never hate you Blaine.”
Blaine shook his head “It’s b-bad I really h-hurt him Cooper.” Blaine looked at his hands “I made him cry Coop, he was sobbing.”
He held his brother’s shoulder “Blaine, what’d you do?” he asked.
“I cheated on Kurt.”Blaine said in a whisper.
He wasn’t sure if he heard his brother right. “What?”
“I cheated on Kurt.” Blaine sobbed.
He laughed, no he didn’t Blaine would never do that. “Yeah right, no seriously what happened?”
Blaine looked at him, guilt and shame written on his face. “I cheated on Kurt.”
He could tell Blaine was serious. “Oh my god Blaine, why? You know better than that! You were raised better than that!”
“I don’t know Coop!”
He shook his head “There’s always a reason Blaine.”
Blaine sighed “I-I was lonely, and he wasn’t there Coop! He promised me I wouldn't be alone.”
“That’s not a reason and you know it! You don’t think he hasn’t? He missed you and loves you!”
Blaine shook his head “No, you don’t get it! He was slipping away Coop, I felt it! It meant nothing!”
“You should’ve told him that you dumbass!” he said smacking him off the head.
“I tried! He wasn’t there! You don’t think I don’t feel bad about this?!”
He sighed “I don’t know Blaine, this isn’t like you!”
Blaine stood up shaking his head. “You don’t get it! I feel like shit! He was sobbingCooper! I’ve never seen him like that! Kurt wasn’t just my boyfriend, he’s my best friend. He knows me better than anybody! A-And I lost him.” Blaine ran his fingers over his head. “I’m alone Coop. I love him more than anything! He’s the love of my life Coop. I-I don’t kn-know what to d-do!” Blaine sobbed falling back on his bed.
His heart broke at his brother’s confession. He was so lost and confused, but he knew he came for Kurt, sure he had friends, but they were Kurt’s too. He need him, his advice. “C’mere Squirt.” he said opening his arms. Blaine immediately went into them. “I-I love him Coop. I’m such an idiot!” Blaine sobbed.
“I know you do Blaine, I know you do.” He said rubbing his back. “No, you’re not. What you did was stupid, but you’re not.”
Blaine shook his head in disagreement. “Yes, I am Coop!” Blaine cried. “I’m losing the best thing in my life. Over a hook up.” Blaine looked at Cooper. “He’s it for me Coop.”
He sighed. “I know Blaine, I know he’s it. I knew he was the way you talked about him on the phone.” He smiled “I really knew it when I saw the way you look at him and the way he looks at you.”
Blaine nodded “He loves me, or loved, I really don’t know anymore.”
“Love like that doesn’t just go away Blaine.”
“You think I can fix it?” Blaine asked.
“I don’t know Blainey.” he sighed “Maybe, but you need to give him a little time. You hurt him Squirt.”
Blaine nodded “I-I can’t go back until Christmas. I won’t be able to afford it.”
He took his brother’s hand “Don’t worry about it, I’ll buy you a ticket in a few weeks.”
“Really?”
He nodded “Yeah.”
Blaine hugged him “Thank you, Coop.”
He chuckled “No problem.” He smiled “I’ll be right back. I have comfort food downstairs. Go pick a movie okay?”
Blaine nodded and he went to grad the cheesecake and icecream. When he came back Blaine had Moulin Rogue playing. “I come bearing ice cream and cheesecake.”
Blaine eyed the cheesecake “I-I’ll just have the ice cream.”
He was confused “What?” he asked “It’s double chocolate with cookie crumbs from Breadstix. It’s your favorite.”
Blaine shook his head “No, it’s Kurt’s.”
He sighed “Okay, well icecream it is.”
They laid there watching it, Blaine cried on and off. But when it came to Come What May, he was full out sobbing. “O-Our s-song Coop!” Blaine cried clutching Cooper’s shirt.”
He held him rubbing his back. “Shh, it’s okay Blaine.” he cooed. After a while Blaine had cried himself out and fell asleep. He looked at him he was clutching Margaret Thatcher dog, sleeping not peacefully, but sleeping. He spots Blaine’s cell and grabs it, getting Kurt’s number and calls him, knowing Blaine’s a heavy sleeper.”
“Blaine, using Cooper’s phone won’t make me talk to you.” answered Kurt.”
“It’s Cooper, Kurt.”
“Oh.” Kurt said. “Did he make you call me?” Kurt asked.
“No, he doesn’t know I’m talking to you. He’s asleep actually.” he said “He had me come from LA.”
Kurt sighed “At least one of us is.”
“You okay?” he asked.
“I kinda feel like I’m gonna die.” Kurt said softly. “Not sure why you care though.”
“Yeah, Blaine’s my brother but that doesn’t mean I approve of what he did. He was raised better than that.” he said “So how are you?”
“I’m um, I’ve been better. H-how is he?”
He sighed “Worse than than the Chandler incident. He hates himself Kurt.”
Kurt knew how bad he took the Chandler thing last year, so Blaine was really bad off. “R-really?”
“Yeah, he turned down cheesecake, cheesecake Kurt.”
Kurt sighed “Coop, what do you want from me here?”
“Nothing.” he sighed “Look, I know what he did was wrong. Believe me I get it. But honestly, I think you’re it for each other, the way you two look at each other, that’s true love.”
“I-I thought so too. But I never thought he’d hurt me like this.” Kurt paused. “I love him, I do. I love him so much. I-I can’t, I think of him and I see him with that other guy. I need more time.” Kurt sobbed.
“I know you do, I get that and I told him that. I love my brother, but what he did was stupid. Take some time, I know you’re hurt.” he said “But just know he loves you.”
“I-I know he does.”
“Kurt, if you need anything or want to talk give me a call.”
“S-sure.” Kurt replied. “C-can you do something for me?”
“Sure, what is it?”
Kurt sighed “L-let him know I do love him and I need t-time.” Kurt said shakily. “I-I don’t know when, b-but I promise I will c-call him.” Kurt said crying.
“I will Kurt.” he replied. “I’ll talk to you soon.”
“Okay, bye Cooper. Thanks.”
“You’re welcome.” he said before hanging up.
Blaine woke a little while later. “Hey sleepy head.” he said.
“H-hey.”
He smiled “I talked to Kurt.”
Blaine’s eyes widened. “What? Why didn’t you wake me up? What did he say?”
He smiled “Because I called him.”
“What did he say?”
He smiled “That he loves you, and he needs time but he promises that he’ll call when he’s ready.”
Blaine nodded, tears falling. “S-so th-there’s a chance?”
He nodded “Yeah Blaine, there’s a chance.”
Blaine buried his head in the crook of his brother’s neck and cried. “There’s a chance.” he repeated. Coop knew they had issues to sort out but he had a feeling in time, they’d be okay. True love always wins out in the end.
Comments
This was really good. It would be awesome if Coop would come back and help Blaine realize that he did do something wrong but that there is always hope because what Kurt and Blaine have is strong enough to make it through anything. I liked how you had Coop not only talk to Blaine but also talk to Kurt and make sure that he knew that he could call him if he needed anything. I think they both need someone that will help them to realize that their love is real and that they both need to grow and mature so that they can come back stronger. It was fun to see Coop as the voice of reason.
Thank you :) I don't know I had a feeling that Blaine would call Cooper or he did and got some advice from him. I might do another one I'm not sure though. Thanks for taking the time to review <3 Lizzie
