Author's Notes: new chapter! read away :D
Kurt spent a lot of his spare time with Blaine. They went out for coffee and had long discussions about the fashion world while reading vogue. Kurt was happy, Blaine was the first person he felt he could be himself around, Mercede’s and Rachel and the whole Glee club were his friends and they were always there for him, but he knew they couldn’t truly understand him. Not like Blaine did. But even through their wonderfully platonic relationship there was one thing that Kurt couldn’t avoid; no matter how much he was trying to push it from his mind. He was falling in love with Blaine. He couldn’t help it and thought he probably wasn’t the only one considering how amazing he was. All he had to do was listen to Blaine sing or look into his hazel eyes or hear him say his name and he was floating helplessly through daydreams of hand holding and cuddling and..

“Kurt! We need to talk” Rachel’s high voice cut violently through his daydream. He looked up to see her storming towards him, arms folded and eye’s wide with worry.

“What is it now Rachel?” Kurt sighed, closing his locker with a small snap and turning around to give her his full attention.

“It’s time I spoke to you about the huge gay elephant in the room. I need to know what your feelings are for my brother” she whispered, her eyes widening at the last sentence.

Kurt’s heart raced as he tried to keep his emotions under control, his facial features arranged into a look of boredom.
“Rachel, your over dramatization of a situation is again showing your overly insane side.” Kurt sighed and walked off past her.

“No Kurt! I know what I’ve seen, you two have been spending a lot of time together okay and I know my brother. every time he comes home from seeing you he can’t stop smiling and he shuts himself in his room listening to sappy songs, he won’t even come downstairs to sing with me and it’s starting to affect the whole household equilibrium.” she rushed, pulling Kurt around. He just stared at her while his mind tried to keep up with the abundance of information submitted in such a short amount of time.

“Wait, he can’t stop smiling?” Kurt asked before he could stop himself.

“I KNEW IT! You like him!” Kurt huffed and continued to walk away as Rachel followed after him skipping along. “I mean I’m not surprised, he is like a male version of me and I am incredible, I’m sure if you were straight we would be quite compatible, don’t you? He does lack some of my rather impeccable qualities, and he isn’t quite as talented as me but I can see-“

“RACHEL!” Kurt stopped in the middle of the corridor and whirled around staring the short girl down, she stopped mid sentence and eyed Kurt warily. “Listen, I’m not saying I like Blaine, well I do, BUT not in the romantic way, and I am definitely not saying that if I were straight I would ever be interested in you,” he shook his head incredulously, but when Rachel’s eyes seemed slightly hurt he adjusted his attack. “I’m just saying that, you’re my best friend and he’s your brother and it would just be way too weird, he’s just a really good friend, like you are.” Kurt smiled reassuringly, squeezing Rachel’s shoulder, breathing a small sigh of relief when she smiled up at him.

“Well Kurt, be that as it may, just imagine if you got married!? We would be brother and sister in-law!” She squeaked grabbing his arm as they walked down the hallway. Kurt’s mind flew a million miles an hour through images of rings and suits and Blaine saying “I Do”. He shook his head slightly as though this would get rid of the images and simply laughed it off with Rachel, pretending that those words didn’t mean the entire world to him.

Kurt might as well throw himself in front of a car. He was mortified. He entered Glee Club early that day, a slight skip in his step since talking to Rachel had put him in quite a good mood. However as he turned into the corridor glee club was situated on, he heard an all too familiar song and a set of very familiar laughs. He sped up his pace and stepped through the door, in his full view was Blaine, Santana and Brittany all sat in front of a laptop, “Single Ladies” being blasted through the speakers.

He stood still, and tried to arrange his features into something other than pure embarrassment and rage as he took in Blaine’s face. He was watching the video intently a look on his eyes Kurt hadn’t seen before, his eyes were dark and a slight smile was playing on his lips. Finally, when no one had paid him any attention still, Kurt cleared his throat loudly. Three sets of eyes shot up to look at him, widening instantly as Blaine hastily made to shut the laptop shut, a dark blush reaching his cheeks.

“Kurt! I, um, well Santana and Brittany here, they uh. You, that video, it’s..” Blaine rambled as he got up from his seat knocking it over in the process.

“What Frodo is trying to say Pretty Pink Pony is that we showed him what your fine ass looked like in that sparkly uni-tard. Although we did tell him, you’ve loosened up a lot more and you can shake your hips like you need a dollar.” Santana drawled lazily looking Kurt up and down. He blushed under her stare but simply turned his nose up with an air of confidence he didn’t know he had.

“I can shake mine better than you ever could Santana” he gripped the strap of his bag tightly for assurance and walked past a open mouthed Blaine and took a seat at the back of the room. He braced himself for an awkward silence, but was appropriately rescued when Rachel and Finn walked in and the bell rang.

“Blaine what’s wrong? You look pale, you know that if you get sick that puts me in a very vulnerable position for getting sick too and I just cannot afford it. Maybe you should go see the nurse” she reached a hand up and delicately felt his forehead but he pushed it away gently, coming back from staring at the spot where Kurt had been standing moments earlier.

“No, Rach I’m fine, just a bit stressed I think, getting used to a new school and other stuff” Blaine mumbled off as he went and gathered his things; he then tentatively sank into the chair next to Kurt, staring straight ahead. After a few minutes he turned to Kurt and open and closed his mouth a few times, finally he stopped and sighed, returning to staring straight ahead, resulting in tapping his finger impatiently on his leg instead.

“Now Sam and Quinn? You wanted to do your duet today?” Mr Schuester broke into Kurt’s train of thought as he watched Sam and Quinn make their way out the front, cute as ever.

Kurt lost his focus on them as their soft voices washed over him, barely registering what they were singing but very aware of Blaine sitting just next to him. He could sense Blaine still wanted to talk to him, he didn’t however, know what he would say to him in return. He was embarrassed about the video to an extent, he was wearing a sequined uni-tard after all, but he wasn’t ashamed about it because even though he didn’t think he had any sex appeal at all, he had to admit even to himself that he didn’t look that bad shaking his hips. And the way Blaine had reacted when he’d seen Kurt in the flesh was, interesting.

So when Sam and Quinn had finished their cute duet about their suppressed feelings for one another or something, Kurt had taken a deep breath and turned to Blaine as everyone gathered their stuff together around them.

“What do you want to say to me Blaine?” he asked, crossing his arms and raising one eyebrow quizzically. Blaine stared at him for a few moments, mouth open in shock.

“I just, I didn’t know you could dance like, that?” he finally got out, he smiled weakly at Kurt, his eye contact breaking when Kurt raised his eyebrow at him once more.

“Well Blaine, we’ve only known each other a short while, I’m sure there’s a lot you don’t know that I can do” Kurt realised what he’d said was laced with flirty undertones as he was saying it but didn’t stop himself, he simply blushed lightly and remained his eye contact with Blaine, smiling slightly when the younger boy’s eye’s faltered under his own and he looked down, his neck flushing a deep red.

“I’m interested to get to know you a lot more then” he murmured under his breath.

Kurt’s heart quickened instantly and his palm started to sweat as he leant back in his seat and stared straight ahead, he felt Blaine’s eyes on him again and wondered why he’d gotten the upper hand again. He was just forming an appropriate rebuttal when Blaine was dragged away by Rachel.

“Dada and Pappy are taking us out for dinner to celebrate your transition, we can’t be late. See you later Kurt.” she waved frantically over her shoulder, stopping only to press a swift kiss to Finn’s cheek with a promise of “I’ll call you later” and she was gone, Blaine being pulled alone behind her, sparing a fleeting look at Kurt as he rounder the door. It was only a second’s glance but it was all Kurt needed.

He packed his bag up with a faint smile playing on his lips as he thought about the smile Blaine had shot at him and was even blissfully unaware when Santana made a sexual gay joke, something Kurt would have usually been hot on the heels of. It was only when he’d gotten his car into the driveway and gotten inside that he’d even realised he’d driven home at all. Everything just felt like a dream.
