Chapter 19
Kurt helped Blaine out of the car and into the house again. They made their way up to Kurt's room with some struggle and Blaine could finally relax when his body hit the bed. Blaine was allowed to stay the night since he was too hurt and tried for anything other option.
When the doctor had come back to them he had said that nothing was broken, but he was very hurt and Blaine needed to be in bed for a few weeks. He had received some painkillers to make the pain manageable.
"I'm just going to call Cooper to tell him what's going on and that you'll stay here" Kurt told Blaine as he fixed the pillow behind Blaine's head so it was more comfortable.
Blaine sighed but nodded and gave Kurt his phone. "Don't take too long, I don't want to be alone…"
Kurt nodded and kissed Blaine's forehead softly.
Finding Cooper's number, Kurt stepped out of the room and pressed 'call'.
"What's up baby brother? Did his parents kick you out of the house already" Cooper teased with a laugh through the phone.
Kurt shook his head with a little smile at Blaine's brother. He really was a great brother for Blaine. Kurt was happy Blaine still had some good family left.
"Cooper, it's me, Kurt"
"Oh, hey, Kurt… is everything okay?"
Kurt paused for a moment, "No… I mean Blaine is okay, but… he's hurt. Well, he hasn't recovered after what happened with his dad..." Well maybe that wasn't the best way to start…
"What? Kurt what happened? Did our father hurt him again?" he heard Cooper's worried voice say.
Nope, not the best way!
"No! No he didn't! But… he's still in pain after what happened with his dad and he had a little accident so we went to the doctor. But he's going to be okay. He just needs to rest for a few weeks…"
"He's still in pain? But it's been a long time since it happened. I thought he was getting better."
Kurt could hear the palpable confusion and worry in Cooper's voice.
"Yeah he was…" Kurt sighed softly, "Me too, but he had been working out a lot and that made his bruises worse…"
Cooper echoed his sigh too, "Where are you guys? Let me pick you up."
"No it's fine, we are at my place and I think it is best if he just stays here for the night and I can drive him to you tomorrow. He really is tired now"
"Okay that sounds good. But he will be okay, right?"
"The doctor said he just needs to relax, so I'm sure he'll be fine."
Kurt heard Blaine coughing behind the door, "I should go, but we'll see you tomorrow."
"Okay good, I'll see you guys then. Bye Kurt"
"Bye Cooper."
Kurt walked into the room again and saw Blaine trying to getting up from the bed.
"What are you doing? You are supposed to rest!" Kurt carefully tried to make Blaine lay back down again, but Blaine had other plans.
"Relax! I just need to go to the bathroom."
Appeased, Kurt stepped out of the way so he could walk to the bathroom, but placing his hand carefully around him for support "Oh sorry. Here let me help you."
Blaine smiled, "I'm fine Kurt, don't worry."
Kurt sighed but nodded, let go and watched Blaine walk into the bathroom.
He lay down on the bed with a sigh. This had been a crazy day. And how couldn't he of noticed? It still bothered him that he couldn't see how much pain Blaine really was in. He really wasn't a good boyfriend…
Suddenly the bed moved and Kurt looked to the side to see Blaine lying down again beside him. He hadn't heard him come back.
"What are you thinking so hard about?" Blaine asked once he had found a good position on the bed, trying to hide the hurt he was feeling on his face. Kurt noticed though.
Kurt shook his head, "I'm just thinking" he replied, trying to avoid worrying Blaine.
With a bit of struggle, Blaine moved closer to Kurt and lay on his side to look at him better. Kurt mirrored the action.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you, I just didn't want you to worry." Blaine mumbled, looking into Kurt's blue green eyes.
Kurt just stared back, not sure what to say. He could understand that. It was what he did to Blaine. Lie so he didn't get worried.
Kurt nodded eventually.
"Come here" Blaine whispered softly, pulling Kurt closer.
Kurt couldn't help but to kiss him back when he felt the soft, pink lips that he loved so much touch his.
"I'm sorry" Blaine whispered against his lips, before pressing them back to where they were.
"It's okay… Blaine…" Kurt whispered back as he tangled his fingers into Blaine's hair.
Kurt really loved Blaine's hair without any gel.
Blaine deepened the kiss and held Kurt closer, running his tongue over Kurt's bottom lip before Kurt opened his mouth to let him in.
Blaine moved his lips down to Kurt's neck and started to suck softly. Kurt moaned at that and stammered to tell Blaine that they should calm down and that he didn't want Blaine to get hurt. Blaine said that it was fine like he always did and continued to caress Kurt's neck for a bit, before his lips finds Kurt's again.
A knock on the door made Kurt pull away quickly and Blaine lie carefully back on the bed.
Carole came in with a smile and some brownies.
"Sorry if I'm interrupting something" she said with a knowing smile, "but I thought maybe you boys wanted some cake. We didn't have a chance to eat dessert…" she stopped before she said more, but never stops smiling, probably assuring Blaine that it was okay.
Both boys smiled and the two others could see Blaine wanted some cake.
Kurt chuckled lightly and smiled at Carole as she puts them on the bed, "Thanks Carole, it looks great."
Carole nodded with a smile and said goodnight before walking out again.
Outside of the door the boys could hear Burt whisper to Carole, "Carole! The door has to be open!"
"Burt, he is hurt, they aren't going to do anything" she laughed slightly, "now come to bed and leave them alone."
Burt mumbled something the boys couldn't make out and walked away.
The boys looked at each other and started to laugh a little.
"You want some cake?" Kurt asked, even though he knew the answer and grabbed the plates to place them between them.
"Yeah it looks so good…sucks that I messed up dessert" He picked up one of the plates and took a bite, moaning when he tasted it, "Wow that's so good."
That sound was not okay!
Kurt smiled and took one for him; "You don't need to apologize, Blaine. It's not your fault."
Blaine didn't look convinced but looked like he didn't want to talk about it anymore.
Kurt took a bite for himself and understands why Blaine made that sound (that he definitely was not going to think about right now) Wow this was so good.
"Carole is a good cook" He agreed.
After the cake was gone, mostly eaten by Blaine, they lay down close on the bed again, smiling at each other.
Kurt looked down at Blaine's mouth and chuckled, "You're a mess!"
Blaine had chocolate on his lips and some down his jaw which Kurt couldn't help but laugh at.
Blaine looked at Kurt confused, before Kurt moved closer, "I'll fix it…"
And then Kurt is kissing Blaine again. Blaine kissed back, still confused before he could taste all the chocolate on their mouths.
Kurt is not sure where he got his sudden confidence from, but he really didn't care at the moment. This was too good.
When Blaine's mouth was deemed clean enough, he moved his tongue over the chocolate that was on his jaw, receiving a gasp and a moan from the other boy.
Kurt was not sure what made him do it and had surprised him since this was not like him at all. The sounds Blaine was making… god what was happening to him? He used to blush just at the thought of kissing. He still blushed at times, but he had never done anything like this. But he liked it a lot though, too much.
"Kurt…" Blaine moaned out and Kurt pulled back, not wanting to go too far. Blaine was hurt after all.
Blaine whined slightly at the loss before looking at Kurt with a look Kurt had never seen before.
Kurt looked away, "Sorry, you had some chocolate…" Oh, welcome back blush!
Blaine smiled lazily, "Don't apologize about that. It was good"
Kurt looked at Blaine and smiled.
"We should get some sleep, you need to rest, remember?"
Blaine sighed, "Yeah, we should"
They found a good position again and looked at each other for while without saying anything. It was good just laying here, not having to speak.
"What are your plans for the weekend?" Blaine asked softly after a while, running his hand up and down Kurt's back.
"Well I had some plans with the guys from New Directions, but I don't ha-"
"No, please don't let me stop you." Blaine interrupted, "You should go see them, I know you miss them and I don't need a babysitter. And besides, Cooper will be there, and you know he will be glued to my hip the whole time."
Kurt laughed and agreed, "Okay, if you're sure?"
Blaine nodded and kissed Kurt softly on the lips, "Positive."
Kurt smiled and cuddled into Blaine's neck as they fell asleep.
Xx
Blaine's soft breath tingled Kurt's neck as he woke up. His head was resting on Blaine's chest and Blaine's arms were loosely around him. It felt too good to lie there and he wished he could just do that all day, but he had plans… and Blaine was right, he did miss his friends.
So it would be really great to meet them all again. Apparently Puck had invited everyone over to his house tonight and Kurt had a big feeling he knew what that meant. Before he was going to Puck's, Mercedes and Rachel had insisted that he came with them to the mall. They needed new clothes for tonight. And Kurt never said no to shopping.
Suddenly, Blaine started moving a lot under him and Kurt lifted his head up to look at him. His eyes were closed and it looked like he was still sleeping. Maybe he was just dreaming, but it didn't look like a good dream.
"Blaine…?" Kurt asked softly and moved away from Blaine, looking at him in concern.
He didn't answer, just groaned slightly and moved like he was in pain.
"Blaine, wake up." Kurt said, shaking Blaine awake.
Blaine's eyes opened and he quickly sat up in the bed, groaning loudly when the pain of his actions became apparent, falling back down on the bed.
"Are you okay?" Kurt asked, concerned.
Blaine jumped slightly when he realized he wasn't alone.
"Oh sorry, I forgot I was here… I'm fine… just a bad dream…"
Kurt hugged Blaine from the side, "Do you want to talk about it?"
Blaine shook his head no, "No it's nothing, and it's just my dad. But let's forget about this okay?"
Kurt was sad Blaine didn't feel safe enough to talk to Kurt about it, but he could understand that Blaine wanted to forget. He just didn't want Blaine to deal with it himself.
Kurt nodded, "If you're sure… but you know you can talk to me about anything, right?"
Kurt looked at Blaine and watches him agree, "Yeah I know. Thanks for being here."
Blaine gave Kurt a little kiss before lying more comfortably on the bed. Kurt smiled at the kiss, it felt so natural and it was like they'd done it a million times. It wasn't like kissing Ben. Kurt thought that felt normal, but nothing was more normal than to kiss Blaine.
"When are you going out today?" Blaine asked after a few minutes in comfortable silence.
"Oh, it's not for a few hours, so we can just relax here for a while."
Blaine smiles, "Sounds good. I'm really happy I have you. I don't deserve you, but I've never been happier than when I am with you."
Kurt smiled and shook his head, "I'm the one who doesn't deserve you; you're amazing. And I'm really happy too."
Both smile a big happy smile before they lean in for a kiss.
Blaine leant his forehead against Kurt's, "What exactly are you doing today?"
Kurt chuckled lightly, but didn't move, "Shopping with Mercedes and Rachel, then Puck is having a little party. Just the New Directions and me I hope."
Blaine nodded with a smile and pulled back to look at Kurt, "Should I be worried? I mean, I've never seen any of the guys in New Direction, so…" Blaine smirked teasingly.
Kurt laughed, "You have nothing to worry about" Kurt gave him a kiss, "I'm the only gay one there."
Blaine still had that teasing look about him when he responded, "They could still be good looking and if there are coming more people, you never know…"
Kurt rolled his eyes, but grinned, "You have nothing to worry about" he repeated.
"Maybe I should come so everyone knows you're with me."
"You can't go out, you are supposed to rest!" Kurt laughed at his cute boyfriend.
Blaine sighed overdramatically, "Fine…"
Both laughed at each other. It was nice seeing Blaine laugh; he hadn't seen that much of it lately.
"You think there will be alcohol there?" Blaine asked when they calm down.
"Puck's party? Defiantly, but I don't drink."
"Why not? I mean, you don't have to, but it's good sometimes."
Kurt frowned slightly, "I don't know, I just never had the urge to do it. And my dad would kill me if he found out."
Why did Blaine ask so much about this?
Blaine nodded, "But if you do, it's okay you know. I don't have a problem with people drinking and I've done it sometimes too. I know I'm not going to be like him and I know you won't either."
That's what all this is about.
Kurt nods, "Okay, but it's okay if you don't like it. And that is not the reason why I don't drink, I just don't I guess, but I might do it later. I don't know why this is so important"
Blaine looked at Kurt, "Oh sorry, I just didn't want you to not drink because you thought I had a problem with it, which I don't. You do what you want of course, Kurt."
Blaine's phone rang and both boys looked at the phone, before Blaine took it.
"Hey, Coop" he said into the phone and Kurt could hear Cooper's voice talking.
"I'm fine; I'll tell you everything when I get home."
There was silence for a bit before Blaine looked at the clock, "I'll be there in an hour, okay?"
Kurt looked at the clock too. Wow they really had been sleeping for a long time, it was already 11.30am.
Blaine hung up, "I should get going soon, don't want Cooper to be too worried."
Kurt got out of the bed, "Of course, let me just get dressed and I'll drive you." Kurt looked at Blaine and saw that he had been sleeping in his clothes, "do you… eh want to borrow some clothes?"
Blaine looked down at himself and shook his head, "No I don't need that, and I'll change when I get home." He smiled a little at Kurt.
When did this get awkward?
Kurt nodded, "Okay, just give me a sec."
Kurt quickly took a shower only realizing that he had forgotten to bring clothes with him inside after he had finished.
With a sigh, he wrapped the towel firmly around his waist and opened the door. Blushing, he walked out.
"Sorry I forgot about clothes…"
Blaine turned to Kurt from where he is still lying in bed and his mouth dropped slightly. His eyes grew slightly bigger and he quickly forced his eyes up to Kurt's eyes, "T-that's fine."
Kurt quickly found some clothes and walked to the bathroom again, his cheeks completely red.
Kurt walked out again after his face turned to his normal pale color and his clothes were on.
Blaine looked up again when he heard Kurt walk out and smiled.
"Sorry about that…" Kurt said, feeling himself blush again.
"No need to apologize" Blaine chuckled and got out of the bed with some struggle.
Kurt quickly walked over to help him up, "You okay?"
"Kurt stop, I'm fine. It's not good, but I can deal with it. I've done it for a while now."
Kurt looked down at that. The thought about him not noticing came to his mind again and it felt worse every time.
"Kurt, I'm sorry." Blaine moved Kurt's head up with a finger under his chin and kissed him softly, "I'm sorry."
"Let's just get some breakfast okay?"
Blaine nodded and Kurt kissed him again before helping Blaine down the stairs. Blaine tried to tell Kurt he could walk down himself, but Kurt wasn't risking it so he just pretended not to hear. After a sigh, Blaine gave up.
Xx
Kurt helped Blaine out of the car and both of them walked up to the house.
Cooper came out when he had seen them arrive and quickly made his way over to his brother and his boyfriend.
"Hey Cooper" Blaine smiled at him.
"Hey little brother… how are you feeling?"
The three of them walked into the house and Blaine sat down on the couch, "I'm fine."
Cooper sighed, "Blaine why didn't you tell me? I could have helped."
Blaine shook his head, "There was nothing I needed help with. I just had a little accident and I'm going to be fine. You guys have to stop worrying so much."
Cooper rolled his eyes, "Clearly you needed help since this happened."
Blaine frowned at Cooper, "What? That our father beat me up? Are you saying it was my fault? That I had what was coming?"
"What? Of course not! It was all that assholes fault! I wasn't talking about that!"
Kurt wasn't sure what to do. He just looked at the brother from the corner of the room.
"Maybe I should go…"
Blaine looked up at Kurt, "No, please don't go. I'm sorry about this."
Kurt sighed and walks over, "It's fine, I need to get ready anyways. You two have a lot to talk about too."
Kurt kissed Blaine on the forehead and with a bye, he walks out.
Xx
"Kurt!"
Kurt turned around to where the sound came from and saw Rachel and Mercedes running towards him. He smiled at them and laughed when they attack him in a hug.
"Oh my god, we've missed you so much!" Rachel squealed and hugged him tighter.
"Missed you too" Kurt said when they finally let go.
The girls smiled at him and linked their arms with Kurt's arms. They started to walk around the mall.
"So do you have any news?" Mercedes asked with a smile.
Oh crap, he hadn't told them what was going on. There was so much going on that he had forgotten to tell them.
Kurt bit his lip and blushed slightly, looking down while they walked, "Eh… actually-"
Both girls stopped and gasped, "Oh my god, you and Ben did it?" Rachel asked excitedly.
Kurt looked at Rachel with big eyes, "What? No!"
They both raised an eyebrow and looked at Kurt.
"Okay you need to tell us everything boy!" Mercedes said seriously, but with a small smile
"Didn't we come here to shop?" Kurt asked, trying in vain to change the subject, but he knew there was no point in trying.
"We have plenty of time after you tell us." Rachel said and suggests that they go for a coffee at the café and talk there.
Kurt sighed but follows them anyway. They sat down at a table after ordering their coffee.
Kurt took a sip and tried to ignore the two girls sitting over the table, just looking at him.
"Fine!" Kurt sighed, "I'll tell you."
Both girls squealed and Rachel clapped, before bringing her hair back over her shoulders so it was resting on her back, ready to hear what Kurt has to say.
Kurt rolled his eyes. He was a little scared of what they would say about this. He did dump Ben to be with Blaine. He knew he did the right thing, but he did move on fast…
"I…I broke up with Ben."
"Did he hurt you? You know I can always talk to him. No one messes with my boy." Mercedes looked at Kurt seriously.
"No, he didn't hurt me. It was the right thing to do. It wasn't right to be with him when I liked someone else. So I told him that and he said he understood."
Both girls nodded, "But what are you going to do now? Isn't Blaine with someone else?"
Kurt shook his head at Rachel and bit his lip slightly, feeling himself blush again, "No, he isn't with him anymore."
Kurt smiled at the girls, maybe a little too much since both of them dropped their jaws.
"Is there something else you aren't telling us boy?"
Kurt looked down at his coffee and mumbled, "Maybe"
"Well?" Rachel asked excitingly, jumping in her seat.
"Blaine and I are together now."
Everyone in the café looked at their table when they could hear the two girls squeal, wondering what was going on. Kurt blushed when he saw everyone looking at them and he tried to make the girls be quiet.
"Please be quiet! It's not such a big deal that you have to tell everyone in the café!"
They all laugh at that and thankfully they got a bit quieter and everyone stopped their staring.
"We are just so happy for you!" Rachel said, Mercedes nodding.
"Thanks" Kurt smiles, shaking his head at his stupid two best friends.
Xx
"What do you think about this one?" Rachel asked Kurt when she came out of the changing room.
Rachel had found a pink summer dress that reminded Kurt of a little five year old girl who wanted to be a princess.
Kurt shook his head, "Rachel, I don't even know why you ask me. You know I'm not a big fan of your style." Rachel sighed and looked in the mirror, "If that is even what you can call it." Kurt mumbled to himself.
"Kurt, I really need your help!"
An idea came into his head and he smiled at Rachel, "Okay fine, you want my help?"
Rachel nodded.
"Okay I'll help you, but you have to promise me that you agree with everything I find for you. Because we both know, I'm the better dresser here."
Rachel seemed a little skeptical at first, but agreed.
Kurt clapped his hands in excitement as Mercedes came out of her changing room. She wore a really nice purple top with some pants Kurt had found for her that looked amazing.
"Mercedes you look beautiful! And guess what, we are having a makeover!" Kurt said to Mercedes.
Mercedes thanked Kurt and walked into the changing room again to change back into her clothes, Rachel doing the same.
When the two girls came out again and Mercedes had paid for the clothes, Kurt took their hands and brought them to the next shop.
After looking for a while, Kurt thought that he had found the perfect outfit for Rachel, "This is going to look amazing on you!"
Rachel didn't seem to be sure but agreed to try it on all the same.
Mercedes and Kurt waited eagerly and when Rachel came out they both smile.
"Wow, you look amazing!" Mercedes said.
"Really?" Rachel asked, clearly not believing it.
Both nodded and Rachel looked in the mirror. Kurt had found her a really nice, simple, dark red crop top and white and black textured pin-up shorts that went up to her waist so there wasn't a gap between the top and shorts. It looked really good.
Rachel smiled and nodded, "It's not bad. I mean I still like my old clothes better, but this isn't bad."
Kurt rolled his eyes, "This is so much better, Rachel. It shows of your figure and it looks more mature."
Mercedes agreed with Kurt and it looked like Rachel started to like it more after looking at herself for a bit.
She even liked it so much that she bought it and Kurt was so happy she did. Maybe one day he could get rid of all her old clothes.
"Okay, your turn." Mercedes said when they walk out of the store.
"Me? I have bought some stuff." Kurt said and lifted up his two bags he was holding in his hand, "I bought a fables hat and scarf. I also bought a scarf for Blaine. Oh and the shoes."
"Yes, but you need an outfit for tonight too." Rachel said and forced him into a new store.
Kurt wanted to argue, but he couldn't say no to a new outfit. So they started to look around.
"What about this?" Rachel asked and Kurt looks up.
She had picked a purple simple t-shirt and Kurt just needed to wrinkle his nose before she put it back into place.
He had found a pair of black trousers and now he just needed a shirt. He knew he wanted a shirt, so he wasn't sure why Rachel was finding everything but.
After a few more minutes, Kurt found what he was looking for. He also found a vest that would be perfect, so he went to pay for it, not even bothering to try the clothes on. He knew what fitted the best for him.
Kurt looked at the clock, "Maybe we should get going. We should all go to my place to get ready before we go to Puck's."
The girls agreed as they walked out of the mall and to their cars. Mercedes and Rachel had come here together, but Kurt had his own car.
When they got to Kurt's place they quickly said hello to Burt and went up to Kurt's room. After they had changed they sat down on Kurt's bed to talk. They still had some time before they needed to get going.
Kurt's phone rang when Rachel was talking about something and Kurt looked at the ID.
He smiled and looked up at the girls, who just grin at him.
"Sorry, just one sec" Kurt answered, "Hey."
"Hey, I'm sorry if I'm disturbing" Blaine said into the phone and Kurt can't help but too smile.
"No it's fine, is everything okay?"
Rachel and Mercedes were moving a little closer to hear what Blaine is saying, but Kurt pushed them away with a grin.
"No, I'm so bored. Cooper is a pain in the ass and-"Suddenly it sounded like he dropped the phone and Cooper's voice could be heard. Kurt couldn't hear everything, but he can hear a 'shut up' and 'I'm the best'. Blaine responded with 'Ouch, I'm hurt' and laughter.
Kurt laughed and the girls beside him grinned even more, "What is he saying? Put on speaker!" Rachel whispered to Kurt.
Kurt shook his head but Mercedes grabbed his phone and puts it on speaker, before Kurt could do anything about it.
"Mercedes!" Kurt whispered, annoyed, but then Blaine started to talk again.
"Kurt? I'm sorry, it was just Cooper." He said with a little laugh, but trying to sound annoyed, "Cooper stop! Go make me some food."
They can hear Cooper just laugh.
"Who's Cooper?" Rachel whispered.
Mercedes was still holding the phone between them all and whenever Kurt tried to get it she quickly moved it out of his reach.
"Kurt, you still there?" Blaine asked.
Kurt glared at the two girls who were just grinning, "Sorry, I'm here. And it's okay."
"Oh okay good. It's just Cooper trying to be funny."
Kurt laughed a little and can here Cooper scoff in the background, "Well it doesn't sound like you are bored."
"Believe me I am, you are much more fun to be with."
Kurt blushed slightly when he saw the looks on his friends, "You too" he got out.
"So I was really just calling to ask if you were busy tomorrow. And since you are so mean to not let me come with you tonight, I would love to see you tomorrow." Kurt can hear the teasing in his voice, but it doesn't look like Rachel and Mercedes does, with the 'why can't he come? You have to invite him' look.
Kurt rolled his eyes, "You need to rest Blaine, I don't want you to get worse." He said, but it was more for his friends, "But I can come tomorrow, I'll text you."
"I know, I know. Okay sounds good. Have a great time. Bye"
Kurt smiled, "Thanks, see you tomorrow. Bye"
Mercedes ended the call and handed it to Kurt again.
"Why are you guys so stupid?" Kurt said, trying to be annoyed.
Mercedes shrugged, "We are angels, but what is going on with Blaine? Why couldn't he come?"
"Oh…he is hurt so he needs to be in bed for a few weeks."
"Is he okay?" Rachel asked, worried.
Kurt nodded, not wanting to talk much about it, "He will be, I hope. Okay we should get going! Who is driving?"
Mercedes and Rachel look at each other like they are trying to think about what to say, but luckily they don't say anything more about it.
"I'll drive" Mercedes said and they walked out of the room.
