Author's Notes: Hello thatnk you for reading I hoped you enjoyed it! Let me know if anyone has any feedback

All magic comes with a price. Blaine Andersonhad had that phrase pounded into his head all his life. Sometimes by his parents and other times by the other villagers who feared and hated him. Being born with magic, anywhere else, would have been celebrated. Being born in his village where the people hated magic of all sorts caused young Blaine nothing but trouble. His parents avoided spending time with him at all costs and the few times when the did acknowledge his presence would be filled with nervous glances and warnings about being careful. None of the other children spent time around him, mostly due to their parents not allowing them to. The few friends he did make over his early years had to be seen in secret for fear of their parents or a random adult storming by and rampaging about the unholiness of magic.

Life did not seem to want to play in his favor. This was further proven around his fifthteenth year when he found himself staring at the son of the blacksmith. When he came out to his parents, whatever emotional ties they had that made them feel obligated to protect Blaine were severed. They ordered him out of their house and told him never to return. With no family and no one who would take him in, Blaine left his village. That was three years ago. Three years of wandering.

Kurt Hummel was the first and only son to the kind King Burt. His childhood was sheltered beyond anything. He lived out his early year nearly completly within the confines of the Castle. His only friend was one of the maids, a girl named Santana. A reoccuring event for Kurt was being letured by his father about what it means to rule and the responsibilities of a king. Kurt honestly took no interest in being made king. To please his father, however, he would always nod his head and and try to sound happy about his future. At a young age Kurt learned that sometimes duty meant more than personal emotions. Kurt knew that one day he would need to be wed. If there was anything that made his most uncomfortable about his future it was this fact. The thought of being forced to marry someone he didn't love bothered him lioke nothing else. Santana would sometimes joke about them marrying each other which Kurt always hated joking about. Whenever the subject came up Kurt would ask to excuse himself to his room so he could think about why the idea of being married to a woman made his stomach so uneasy.

Kurt all but hated his life and future in the castle. The only freedom he found was in singing. Sometimes he would sneak out of the castle, originally by himself and then later with santana, and go to the taverns and sing with the drunken peasants. Other times he would leave the castle in the middle of the night, always by himself, and wander into the forest and hum to himself as he strolled. Who knew that waking in the woods and doing what he loved to do most would change his life forever.
