Blaine was the type of guy that went unnoticed. His shy demeanor called for it. Today would be different, today he would go out and get noticed.
He sighed as he adjusted his tie. Maybe he was a tad bit over dressed for what was only a casual meeting with an old flame. He shrugged the thought away and threw his blazer on while grabbing his keys and messenger bag from the kitchen counter. Overdressed was better than underdressed, at least when it came to Sebastian.
"Sebastian Smythe." the tall, slim man turned in his seat at the mention of his name. His eyes were met with the sight of a woman maybe a few years older than him. Her long legs accentuated by a pair of nude pumps and a navy blue pencil skirt and her hair falling flawlessly onto her fitted blazer clad shoulders.
Straightening up his posture he up on his best 'hey beautiful' smile and extended his hand. "At your service." The woman eyed his hand and, instead of taking it in her own, checked her watch.
"I understand you're meeting with a Blaine Anderson in a few moments." Sebastian frowned and let his hand fall. "Sure. Why do you need to know?"
The question was ignored as she sat down and slid an envelope across the table checking her watch once more. "It's also understood that your relationship with him comes with a few low expectations." Sebastian snorted and took a sip of his coffee while opening the envelope with his other hand.
"If you are willing to listen and act I will be willing to give." Sebastian raised an eyebrow at that comment. "You're going to pay me to ditch my ex?" She checked her watch again. "Times being wasted. Accept my offer now or I'll find another way to gain the much needed access to Mr. Anderson."
Sebastian nodded and took the envelope placing it in his inner jacket pocket. "I wish Blaine didn't hold your interest so much. We could've definitely had some fun."
Blaine's brows furrowed as he saw Sebastian walking away from the outdoor cafe leaving an attractive woman behind. What was he supposed to do? He wasn't in the mood to cause a scene, not when Sebastian would take pleasure in seeing he still cared. His only other option was to..."You can sit down you know."
Blaine did as he was told confused as to how he had made it across the street and in front of who he assumed was Sebastian's new play thing. She smiled. "Rachel Berry, Mr. Anderson. I'm here as a representative of Hummel Corporations, a name I am sure you are extremely familiar with."
He nodded. Yes, he was familiar with the name. Hummel Corporations was how he had met Sebastian, how he had found himself. Shifting uncomfortably in his seat he answered.
"Of course. What's this about?" Rachel, once again (but unknown to him) pulled out a yellow envelope from her bag and presented it to the man sitting in front of her. "Any information you need will be found there. If you plan on agreeing to the terms then Mr. Hummel himself shall be expecting you in his offices tomorrow morning. Again, all information needed is amongst the envelopes' content." she left without another word.
Blaine debated opening the envelope immediately, deciding against it when he remembered that whatever it was had caused Senastian to remove himself from the equation. "He didn't even call to cancel." Blaine sighed making his way back home after paying for a chocolate biscotti and his usual cup of coffee.
Rachel, unlike Blaine or Sebastian who were both very confused, was feeling good about her day. Her boss had sent her out on a mission, she had done her research and she knew that once Blaine Anderson had gone through every detail he wouldn't disappoint. Recruiting was her job after all and damn it all to Hell if she wasn't the best.
