“Blaine, you ready for your seventeenth birthday tomorrow?” Brad asked Blaine as they set the table for another morning at the Anderson residence.

            “More than you know dad,” Blaine answered. The crew sat down at the table, ready to indulge in a great breakfast…of cereal.

            “Dad, don’t you think one of us should learn how to actually cook something?” Maggie asked as she sneered at the usual cereal.

            “Well, considering I work most of the day,” Brad started, “and your brother has prep club after school most days.” Blaine playfully punched his dad in the arm. “Ouch. Anyways, I think you should. It’d be good for you! Surely one of your friends’ parents could give you some pointers,” Brad said chuckling.

            “Cereal’s good with me,” Maggie said immediately.
