“What happened?” Kurt was frantic. The police did get Dave, but before they got him he attacked Blaine and hit him over the head. Blaine was bleeding and was unconscious. The ambulance was already there and the emergency workers were working on him. “He had a serious concussion and his brainwaves are unsteady, but he’s in a fair condition,” The doctor said once he got out of the medical room. Kurt felt sick in his stomach. “What if Blaine never woke up?” He thought back at the time his dad was in a coma. He got through that, but somehow he felt that he wouldn’t get through it this time. He did not have his friends, supporting him. Then it hit him. ‘I must let my dad know, and Blaine’s parents. No, they won’t care if he is busy... No, I can’t think like that! Blaine will survive.’ He picked up his phone and called Burt. Burt took the news quite well, but was stressed about Kurt and offered to take out a loan to fly up to New York to support him. Kurt wanted it so bad, but he knew his father couldn’t do that. He told his father that he will be okay and that he doesn’t need to worry and hung up.

That night he slept in the uncomfortable chair of the hospital, not able to see Blaine yet. The following morning Kurt was waked up by his phone vibrating in his pocket. He didn’t respond immediately, but when he finally was awake he checked his phone. It was a text from the sergeant to say that Kurt must phone him as soon as possible. Kurt did not want to deal with him right now and looked up from his phone. The nurse came closer and had a sad look in her eyes. He started sobbing, because that look only meant one thing. Blaine was dead! She sat down next to him, and gave him a hug and held him. She rubbed the small of his back and she even tear up a bit. He looked up to her within 2 minutes and with red eyes he asked, “Is he dead?” Then she realised, he didn’t know yet. She had to tell him... She breathed and opened her mouth to talk. “...”
