As Kurt walked down the deserted hallway of William McKinley High School he was shoved face first into the lockers, his nose colliding with the combination lock and landing on the floor with a thud. He looked up to see 2 guys with letterman jackets glaring at him.

"Watch it, queer! Or next time I'll give you more than a bloody nose!"

They walked off laughing. It took a second for Kurt to realise what they had just said, he put his hand to his nose and he felt a hot liquid pouring onto his hand. He wearily got to his feet and went to the bathrooms to clean up.

Kurt was proud of who he was and what he was but it was times like these that he could be someone else….someone normal….someone straight. Kurt was gay; he had known it since he was 7. His friends in Glee club were supportive, along with his family but then there was everyone else. He was always being shoved into lockers or thrown into dumpsters. But the worst part was that nobody seemed to care. They all just watched as his life was being turned into a living hell.

Kurt's nose was very red and slightly swollen when he went to class. His friends gave him a questioning look but he just ignored them. It was the last lesson of the day and he was exhausted, he really couldn't take having to give a long explanation as to why his nose looked as it did. Kurt didn't know, or care, what the teacher was saying and when the final bell went Kurt couldn't get out of there quick enough. He didn't go to his locker, he just went straight out the gates, hopped into his car and drove straight home.

When Kurt got home he found it empty, he presumed that his dad was at work, Finn at football practice and Carole out shopping. He went to the kitchen to get ice for his nose and went to his room. This was the first time that Kurt had seen his nose and, man, did it look bad. Kurt started freaking out not only about what his friends and family would say but more importantly this would not go well with any of his outfits! Suddenly he heard doors slamming and the front door opening.

"Kurt?" his dads' voice shouted up to him. Kurt got off his bed reluctantly and went downstairs.

"Hey dad" Kurt avoided meeting his dads eyes but it still didn't hide his nose. "What the hell happened to your nose?" Burt demanded, striding quickly over to Kurt and put his hand delicately on Kurt's nose. "OUCH!" Kurt flinched at the slightest touch from his father's hand.

"Sorry! Kurt what happened?" Burt looked really worried so Kurt tried to act casual. "I just fell" Kurt shrugged and started walking away but Burt grabbed his arm and blocked his path.

"I'm not stupid Kurt, who did that to you?" Burt loosened his grip but still stood firmly in his place. Kurt could see that he had no other option but to tell his dad the truth.

"It's just these guys in school, they shoved me into the lockers and I hit my nose on the combination lock, it's no big deal, it happens all the time!" these were the wrong choice of words because Burt became instantly horrified at what his son was saying.

"They shove you into lockers every day? Why didn't you tell me?" Kurt suddenly broke down. He really didn't know what to do and he didn't tell his father because, if he was being honest with himself, he thought that his dada wouldn't care just like the rest of them. Kurt couldn't bring himself to say this to his dad so he choked out,

"I was scared" Burt pulled him into a hug because he felt so sorry for his son. He shouldn't have to go through this just because he was gay. "This stops right now" Burt thought to himself. "No one has the right to make my son cry just because of who he is!"

Burt pulled away from his son, "We are going to the principle in the morning" Kurt was so taken aback by this comment that he almost fell backwards. "Wha…what?" Kurt managed to splutter out before catching his dad before he fell on the floor. "We are going to the principle in the morning and report that you're being bullied."

Burt's' face was hard and unreadable. "No, we can't! They can just say it was an accident! Please dad, don't do this! I'll handle it!" the desperation in Kurt's voice made Burt feel so bad, he really wanted to help his son but agreed with him on this occasion.

"Ok Kurt, but if you come home ever again with another part of you bruised I will be going to that school, I love you too much to see anyone hurt you, ever"

Kurt sighed in relief and hugged his dad again. "I love you, dad" Burt pulled him closer "I love you to, kiddo" Kurt pulled away before he started to cry again. So, swallowing the lump in his throat and said "I'm going to my room" turned from his dad "and thanks again" and left.

In the morning Kurt was scared encase his dad had changed his mind over night but when he went down Burt wasn't even there. Kurt asked Carole where he was. She said he went to work early. Kurt was disappointed because he wanted to say to his dad how he truly felt but on second thoughts maybe that wasn't such a good idea. It would lead to the school getting involved and he certainly didn't want that! No, Kurt decided he would just ignore them; they would get tired soon enough. Wouldn't they?

As Kurt turned the corner of his street, he then saw him, the huge guy with the broad shoulders and letterman jacket, Dave Karofsky. Kurt tried to make his presence unknown but it was too late, he was coming towards him with anger and purpose on his face. "Oh God" thought Kurt. should he run for it? Who was he kidding? This guy was on the football team, he couldn't out run him! Too late, Karofsky was now looking down at him with such fury that he wondered if he was going to pop a blood vessel.

"What are you doing here?" this growl made Kurt shudder in fear. He couldn't move his body or even speak "don't let me see you around here ever again! You got that? Or else" at that moment Kurt was shoved to the curb with such force that he was surprised his shoulder hadn't smashed into a million pieces.

Kurt was dazed for a few seconds before he realized someone was offering their hand to help him up. Kurt muttered a quick "thanks" but then looked at the Samaritan. This guy was the hottest guy he had ever seen! His gorgeous eyes, his black curly hair, his lips were curling into a smile…. Kurt had lost all train of thought for a minute but the hot guy just put out his hand and said, "I'm Blaine"
