Kurt suddenly sits up and looks over to the clock. It's about four a.m. and he knows he's having contractions.
"Ahh." Kurt tries to breathe quietly, but apperently it doesn't work as Blaine rolls over and takes in the sight of Kurt. His pursed lips, squinted eyes, and huddled over his knees breathing.
"Baby, are you ok?" Blaine asks, suddenly awake.
"Umm, I think this baby wants out. I'm having contractions." Kurt says.
"I think we need to wake up Burt and Carole and call Shayna." Blaine says, grabbing his phone and pressing the lock button to check the time.
"Ok, sit here and I'll be right back, I promise. Just breathe and squeeze this pillow if you need to." Blaine says, handing him a pillow and running out of the room.
"Burt, Carole." Blaine says, sneaking into their room.
"Mmph. Oh, Blaine, what is it?" Carole asks, rolling over.
"Kurt's having contractions. I told him that I would come wake you guys up." Blaine says.
Carole sits up in bed quickly, knowing exactly what she just heard and begins to shake awake Burt.
"Burt, Kurt's going into labour." Carole says.
"Woah, wait, WHAT?" Burt says, sitting up.
"Kurt's having contractions." Carole says.
"I think I'm going to call Shayna and then Kurt and I are going to go down to the basement and sit down there for a bit and get Kurt relaxed." Blaine says.
"Ok, We'll just stay up here." Carole says.
"Ok, I just wanted to let you know." Blaine says, running back up to Kurt's room, where Kurt was huddled over the pillow again.
"Oh, baby, I'm here." Blaine says, closing the door and wrapping his arms around his labouring boyfriend.
"Ohh, this hurts." Kurt whines, leaning his head into Blaine's chest.
"I know baby, you're doing great breathing. I'm gonna go ahead and call Shayna and then we can head down to the basement if you want." Blaine says.
Kurt doesn't say anything, but nods his head.
Blaine quickly dials the number for Shayna on his speed dial, and calls.
"M-Hello, Blaine?" Shayna answers.
"Umm, Kurt's having contractions." Blaine says.
"Oh, ok. Ask him about how long apart they are, or did he time them?" Shayna says.
"Baby, How long apart are you contractions?" Blaine asks.
"I don't know, maybe ten minutes." Kurt says, laying on his side in the bed, cuddled into the pillow.
"He said he didn't know, about ten minutes maybe." Blaine repeats.
"Alright, start to time the contractions. When they get to five minutes, call me back and I'll come over." Shayna says.
"Alright, talk to you later. Bye." Blaine says, hanging up the phone.
"Alright baby, let's head down to the basment." Blaine says, helping Kurt up off the bed and down the stairs into the basement.
Kurt immedietly feels a strong pain of a contraction, and drops onto the bed in the basment, breathing and squeezing the sheets in his hands.
Blaine drops down behind him and massages his lower back.
"Ohh, that one was worse." Kurt says, writing down and recording the contraction times.
About a half an hour later, things had started to pick up quickly and Blaine called Shayna telling her she needed to come.
At this point, Kurt was in terrible pain. Kurt had ended up in boxers and a baggy t-shirt.
"OHH, Shit, that hurt." Kurt breathed into Blaine's chest, as Blaine rocked him back and forth.
"Do you want to try some of the different positions?" asks Blaine.
"Yeah." breathes Kurt.
Kurt approaches the large birthing ball, and sits down, legs spread and wide on the ball.
Kurt starts to rock back and forth as Blaine holds him and rocks with him.
"OWWW." Kurt whines, giving a small cry.
"It freaking hurts." Kurt says, rocking back and forth on the ball.
"I know, baby, you're doing amazing!" Blaine says, encouraging Kurt.
Suddenly, the boys hear someone walking down the stairs.
"Hello, boys. How are you, Kurt?" Shayna asks, walking into the room.
"Been better. I'm in a lot of pain. The contractions are about two to three minutes apart and are very very painful." Kurt says, getting off the ball and onto the bed for Shyana to check him.
"Ok, Kurt, can I have you take your boxers off, I need to check you." Shayna says.
Kurt archs his back, and slids his boxers down, throwing them off the bed, and quickly resuming the position breathing with another contraction.
Shayna looks down, feeling for the baby.
"Ok, you are about six centemeters. If your water doesn't break soon, we'll have to break it. But no worries, you are just fine." Shayna assures, seeing Kurt's worried face.
"AHH, OWW." Kurt starts, with another contraction.
"Uh-"
Kurt feels a liquid running down the insides of his legs and looks to Shayna.
"Right on time, huh?" Kurt jokes, but suddenly doubles over with the power of the contraction.
"You okay, baby?" Blaine asks, rocking with Kurt.
"Not really, just in labour here." Kurt snips at Blaine.
"Sorry baby, you're doing amazing!" enoucrages Blaine.
"Can I squat with Blaine behind me? I want to get this baby to start moving down some more." Kurt says.
"Sure, whatever is good with your body." Shayan says.
Blaine helps Kurt get into a good squatting position, and begins to rub Kurt's legs.
"You are doing incredible, baby. Only a little more until we can meet our baby." Blaine encourages.
"Ahh, pressure. I have a ton of pressure on my bottom. I think I need to ahh, yeah, I need to push, Blaine!!" Kurt says, bearing down, the urge to push overwhelming Kurt's body.
"Here, let me check you first Kurt. Don't push." Shayna says, checking Kurt's bottom.
"You are ten centermenters. Ready to push, Kurt?" Shayan asks.
"All day." Kurt says.
"Ok, when you feel pressure on your bottom, bear down and push." Shayna says.
Kurt suddebly begins to push, gripping Blaines' hands hard for support.
"Come on baby, push hard!" Blaine says to Kurt.
"UGGHH, I am. Shit, here comes the head." Kurt says, pushing down.
"Ok, this is what people in birth call the ring of fire on the head. It will burn, but continue pushing." Shayna says.
"OH SHIT! IT BURNS, PAIN, OWWWWWW!" Kurt screams, continuing to bear down on his bottom and push.
"OK! Kurt, the head is out, stop pushing." Shayna says, checking the baby's head. "It's got dark hair." Shayan smiles.
"Aww, Blaine, it's got your hair-"
"SHIT! Shoulders, DAMN IT! OWWW." Kurt says, contiuing to bear down and push as the shoulders slide out.
"The baby is almost here, Kurt. Only one or a few more pushes." Shayna says.
Kurt bears down one more time as the body of their little baby girl slides out of his body and into the world.
They get Kurt layed on the bed quickly, placing a sheet over his legs, and wiping off the baby, wrapping it in a blanket.
Blaine sits beside Kurt on the bed, telling him he did a great job.
No more than five minutes later, Shayna comes over with a small baby girl, whining in her arms.
"She is very healthy. Six Pounds, Eight Ounces, Nineteen inches long." Shayna smiles, handing Kurt he little squirming baby in the blankets.
Kurt takes the baby and slides her up against his chest.
"Blaine, it's our little baby." Kurt cries, tears of happiness rolliing down his cheeks.
"I know baby." Blaine says, beginning to cry his own tears,
"So what's her name?" Shayna asks.
"Danielle. Danielle Trinity soon to be Hummel-Anderson." Kurt smiles at Blaine.
"I love it." Shayna says, with a smile at the new parents.
