It was unbelievable. Kurt knew he was being ridiculous, but he just couldn’t help himself. How was it that it had taken less than a week for every person in McKinley to fall in love with his boyfriend while he’d had to work for two years to gain mere respect?

He was fine with everyone singing to Blaine to welcome him to the club.

(because even though no one else had had that kind of treatment and it was Rachel’s idea, everyone took Kurt’s song suggestions more seriously than hers and it was nice to see Blaine smile so wonderfully)

He was ok with everyone from glee kids to Cheerios inviting Blaine to sit with them at lunch.

(because Kurt remembered how cold the cafeteria had been during his first year at McKinley when he had no friends, and Blaine ended up politely declining each offer to eat with Kurt)

But why was Blaine the only one to have an entourage- more like fan club of swooning girls- accompany him to each and every class? And why was Mr. Schuester giving Blaine solos that he’d had to fight tooth and nail just to audition for?

He was being unreasonable. He was being selfish. He was happy Blaine was fitting in so well, he really was. They’d both been so worried the bullies would go crazy over the two of them being together that this was a real shock. Kurt loved Blaine and was happy Blaine was happy…but he loved his spotlight too, and sharing it in this way was going to take some getting used to.

“Kurt, what’s wrong?”

Blaine’s question brought Kurt out of his thoughts. Just because they now went to the same school didn’t mean their Lima Bean dates had stopped, and it had been Blaine’s turn to order as Kurt grabbed their table. Blaine was passing Kurt his usual with a concerned look on his face. “Everything ok, babe?”

Kurt smiled. “Yeah, just thinking about the week. It’s been a long one.”

“No kidding. Not as bad as we thought though, right?”

It could have been horrible. They could have been thrown into lockers. They could have been slushied. Or worse. Kurt had nothing to complain about.

“Definitely,” he replied.

“I can’t believe Mr. Schuester gave me the male lead in Killer Queen!”

Kurt knew how much this meant to Blaine. He was being accepted when he could have been shunned, and that was a big deal. He was happy for him, really.

“I can- you’re amazing, Blaine,” Kurt said as he took his boyfriend’s hand.

(it was just going to take some getting used to)

End Notes: I hope I'm conveying this side of Kurt without making him OOC. Yes, he's madly in love with Blaine; at the same time, however, I'm not sure how he would react if everyone just fell in love with Blaine as well. This drabble was almost called ‘Jealousy,' to put it another way. I ended up titling it based on the fact that Kurt sees the whole situation as unbelievable and Kurt is acting a bit selfish and unbelievable.
