"You were with Sebastian?" Kurt asked in a sweet but hurt voice. Blaine could see more tears forming in Kurt's eyes and it broke his heart. He gently let go of Adam's shirt, keeping his eye's on Kurt, he knew what he's done was bad.
"Kurt, I- I know this sounds bad but-" Blaine didn't get to finish his explanation before he was cut off
"After everything we went through because of him, you were just out with him?" Kurt tried not to cry in front of Adam. "Was it a date?" He didn't take his eyes off the ground when he asked, he sent a quick glance to Adam who was standing open mouthed not sure why Kurt was so bothered by this.
"Yes, but Kurt-" Blaine was getting frustrated he knew this was upsetting Kurt but he didn't want to be ganged up on. But before he could finish his sentence his phone started to ring, Kurt inhaled a sharp breath as did Rachel. He looked down to see who was calling and as soon as he saw Liza's name flash on the screen he nearly dropped his phone in eagerness to answer.
"Liza are you okay? Where are you?" he said In one massive rush not even sure if his daughter had heard him he said it so fast. He looked at Kurt who was now crying and everyone was staring at him waiting for his next response.
"Yes Dad I'm fine." She answered simply. Why was she acting like this?
"Where are you? Can you come home?"
"When you say home, where do you mean?" That's why. Blaine exhaled a breath of relief, he knew she was safe now.
"Wherever you want. Please just come home and let us know you're safe." Blaine was so mad right now that she had made him, Kurt, Rachel and Finn worried like that, but he couldn't shout at her, not now, if he did she might not come back.
"Us?"
"Yeah me and your Dad." Kurt had managed to get closer to him without him realising, he was now clinging onto Blaine's arm like something dangerous would happen if he let go. He was still crying with worry, he still didn't know what was going on.
"Can you come and get me?"
"Yeah of-"
"Just the two of you, nobody else." He realised she was crying too. To anyone else this would have seemed really childish and pathetic of her, but Blaine knew she had her reasons.
"Sure, where are you?" He was desperate just to hold onto his daughter, just to know that she was there and she was safe.
"On the hill, by the church? But seriously Dad if you come with anyone else I'll-"
"We won't just me and your Dad I promise, you can trust me."
"Oh and Dad, can you hurry, I'm really cold." He hung up and as soon as he did he grabbed Kurt and held him in a tight embrace which he reciprocated, neither of them wanted to let go, I didn't matter what the feelings were towards Blaine's date right now were, they just needed their family. They heard Adam huff in annoyance but Blaine couldn't bothered to care, and also heard Rachel cry in relief as she hugged Finn, but what mattered most was that his daughter was safe and he had his Husband in his arms.
"She's fine, she's on the hill by the church, she wants us to go and meet her. Just the two of us." He said directly to Kurt as they parted, ignoring everyone else. Rachel and Kurt cried a little more, now with the confirmation that she was okay. They heard a rumble of the stairs and a boy, far too tall for his age, was leaning over the banister.
"Mom, I called everyone of my fiends who know her friends and no one has heard from her also he facebook says nothing. Hi Uncle Blaine." The tall boy announced as he spotted Blaine
"Hey Chris, no it's cool, she's fine, we know where she is now." He sent a watery smile up at the boy.
"Great, and all that time I could have been sleeping." He mumbled to himself as he dragged himself up the stairs. He really was just like Finn.
"Come on lets go!" Kurt exclaimed tugging on Blaine's sleeve dragging him to the door.
As soon as Blaine reached the church he stopped the car and he and Kurt both jumped out of the vehicle, they could see a figure sitting down at the top of the hill. They didn't waste any time in climbing up, they had to get to her, they had to get to their daughter and hold her and never let go. By the time they had reached the top she was standing looking at them, Kurt was the first one there as soon as he saw her, they ran to each other, Kurt didn't want to let go he just stood there holding the most precious thing in life, tears streaming from both of their eyes. Soon Blaine was there too he embraced the two most precious things in his life, also crying. They stood there for the next ten minutes just all holding each other. Soon Liza started to break free from them, but Kurt kept her hand he didn't want to let go.
"Please don't ever do anything like that again." Kurt cried at her.
"I won't I promise."
"Why? Why did you leave? Why did you come here?" Blaine may have sort of understood but he forgot Kurt was in the dark, he knew nothing as to why she behaved like this.
"Can we sit?" They both just nodded, Blaine quickly ran down to the car to get a blanket remembering what Liza said about being cold, and left the two of them to talk, he had always been able to talk to his daughter, but this was Kurt's chance.
"So?"
"I wanted to get you two alone. Alone in an environment where you wouldn't fight, because that's all there has been. We are never alone just the three of us and whenever we are you guys just argue all the time. And I just miss it."
"Miss what?"
"Us. Being a family. Why can't it just be like it used to be?" Blaine had reached near the top of the hill so he was out of sight but he could still hear everything they were saying.
"Because me and your Dad aren't together any more sweetie." Blaine had to admit, hearing Kurt say that stung a bit.
"But why? It's obvious you don't love Hugh Grant, and it's obvious Dad is still crazy about you. You didn't need to split up." Blaine could feel blush rising up his neck, but he had to smile with the way Liza always had to change Adam's name.
"Sweetie, me and your Dad had been arguing for a long time, and I couldn't deal with it any more and he couldn't either."
"But why? Why were you arguing that's what I don't understand?" Was Kurt going to tell her everything, he wasn't sure if he wanted him too. He knew this wasn't a good thing to tell their daughter, but maybe it would stop her running away again.
"I got really paranoid that your Dad was seeing someone behind my back. I knew he wasn't but I felt like he's rather be with him than with me. And so I used that to my advantage when we argued. Also I worked a lot. I was barely home and we never saw each other and soon it just got to much for us both. And I think me nagging at him all day every day didn't help matters either." Wow so Kurt was very very honest. Blaine took this quick to make his entrance, but neither of them acknowledged him.
"Dad can I be honest about something, since you were so honest with me?"
"Sure, what is it?"
"Well I'm not sure if it's obvious but I really don't like Adam" Kurt just looked at his daughter with pure sympathy in his eye's.
"Yeah I kind of got that. But you were right, I don't love him. I only moved things along fast with him was to make your Dad jealous, but after that I didn't know how to let it go." Blaine coughed to get their attention. Kurt just blushed and turned his head away from Blaine.
"Awkward." Liza let out in a hushed high pitched voice. She still had a smile that showed, she was just about ready to burst out laughing. Blaine gave her a warning look, so she didn't embarrass Kurt further, before he continued to drape the blanket over the two of them.
"So I had an idea." Blaine decided to break the silence. Both Kurt and Liza looked up at him expectedly. "I was thinking, what if we went camping this weekend?"
"Camping? You want to go camping? We were together 18 years, did you not learn anything?" Kurt looked at him with a sort of shocked confusion of his face.
"Look, I thought it would be fun, just the three of us, no interruptions? It could be some quality bonding time." Kurt sighed in defeat, he gave Blaine a quick smile which made the smaller man's heart jump. They both turned to Liza, about to ask what she thought but the giant grin on her face, told them what they needed to know.
They were going camping.
