Kurt had been freaking out all day, today was his Birthday, not only was it his Birthday but it was his first date with Blaine....sort of.

They had been getting closer all week, Blaine stayed over a couple nights and one night Kurt and Liza even went over to Blaine's apartment had take-out and slept there. They hadn't done anything that you could class as sexual yet, so when they slept together, they literally slept together. But last night Blaine stayed at his own apartment so he could come and pick Kurt up for their date like a gentleman. Kurt had reminded him he could have stayed over and then left around lunch time but Blaine wanted to do everything right.

Right now he found him self surrounded by his clothes on the brick of tears after finding nothing to wear, he may also be stressed and a little exhausted after Liza woke him up at 7am to remind him he's a year older, the little shit got him a card with 'You're 50!' on too, and his present was that she loved him, it was sweet, but frankly she should love him anyway and he had been hinting at a new hat for months. She soon backed out of the room in fear as he pulled out his bitch glare. She had made it up to him with pancakes.

"Liza! Get your ass up here right now!" Kurt shouted down the stairs.

"What did I do now?" Liza asked with a huff as she waltzed into his bedroom.

"You didn't do anything. I have nothing to wear!"

"Nothing to wear? Seriously? Wow okay, lets see..." She mumbled as she rummaged through his clothes. "Okay so those silvery grey pants with a long sleeved black button up and the blazer that matches the pants."

"Okay yeah that looks good but it's not enough I have to look great! What if I added feathers?" Kurt tapped his chin in thought

"No. No. You'll look fine, simple is good, we all know Dad is going to show up in a polo and bow tie and maybe a hat if you're lucky."

He decided to go with what she suggested. She was right maybe simple is good he'll just have to take extra long getting ready to make his hair and face perfect. It must have worked as Blaine showed up at 6 and was rendered speechless with how amazing Kurt looked. Blaine was wearing a short sleeved baby blue button up with a black vest over the top with of course a bow tie.

"Did I get any of it right?" Liza shouted from the living room.

"Just the bow tie." he shouted back while Blaine just looked confused

"Knew it!" They heard before they said their good bye's made sure she was going to be okay by herself and left.

When they got to the restaurant Kurt couldn't shake the feeling that he'd been there before, Blaine pulled his chair out and went to at his own place.

"This is so nice. I haven't been out on a date in forever! Oh my God I'm sixteen all over again!" Blaine laughed at his husband.

"I'm glad I really hope you enjoy your self tonight, you deserve it. Do you recognise this place at all?"

"I knew I remembered it from somewhere! Give me a second I do know..." Blaine just sat back in he just watched the realisation hit Kurt. "Oh my God! Blaine this is where you had your first singing job when we moved to New York! I remember while you were on stage all the girls in the audience would argue over who was going to talk to you when you finished and I'd just smile knowingly. Then you'd come off stage and kiss me right in front of them and the look of disappointment on their faces made me so happy."

"So it was their disappointed looks that made you happy and not my kisses?" Blaine teased.

"They were okay I guess." Kurt teased back.

"Just okay?"

"Meh."

"Well maybe I should just remind you of what my after show kisses are like."

"What do you mean?"

Blaine just stood and left the table and walked over to where there was a band in the corner and commandeered the piano. Kurt knew what was coming. Blaine spoke into the microphone before he sang.

"Hi everyone, I am about to ruin all of your nights by making this all about me, so I apologise in advance. I just really want to sing this song for the love of my life." He turned to face Kurt who was looking up at him proudly. "Kurt, I love you with everything that I am. I know recently stuff has gone down, but I want you to know that in that time I never stopped loving you, you are so beautiful Kurt and I can't believe that I am the lucky guy that gets to be with you again. Happy Birthday baby."

Blaine started the opening tune on the piano, never taking his eyes off of Kurt.

Blaine looked back to Kurt, he had to hold back a laugh as Kurt, attempted to shadily wipe away his tears so no one would know he was crying, he was failing miserably.

Kurt was moved by the song and how it related to them and their relation ship so well.

As soon as the song finished Blaine jumped up from the piano stool and walked over to Kurt who was standing applauding with the rest of the restaurants customers and pulled him into a tight hug which Kurt happily reciprocated, Blaine pulled back and kissed his square on the lips.

"Yeah it was definitely their disappointed looks." Kurt said with a smirk.

"Fine then." Blaine when to pull away playfully.

"I'm kidding. That was amazing, thank you."

"No need to thank me, your worth it."

"Can we eat now?" Blaine laughed.

"Of course we can."

The rest of the dinner went by perfectly, they had forgotten how easy it was just to be together, when there was silence it wasn't uncomfortable at all they we just content with being with each other.

"Have you had a good Birthday?" Blaine said as they walked back to the car.

"I have actually, thank you again for tonight it was amazing." Kurt smiled at his husband as they both got into their designated seats.

"I actually have something for you." Blaine leaned over and got out a familiar small red box from the glove box. "After that final argument just before I left you gave me this back, I was wondering if you would like it back? You don't have to I don't want to push you but it's just I don't feel comfortable having it because its yours. I made it for you." Kurt exhaled a shaky breath.

"Do you remember what that argument was about?" Kurt asked.

"I ignored your call." Blaine looked down not wanting eye contact with Kurt.

"I had no idea where you were and you weren't answering and I had this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that you were-"

"With Sebastian." Blaine finished for him.

"Yeah. And one of the promises you made that day was that you would answer my calls no matter what you were doing. I knew that you weren't with Sebastian that night, but its what I told my self to spare me from the thought that you just didn't want to talk to me because that hurt the most." Blaine was trying everything in his power to hold back the tears that were threatening to spill from his eyes. "One of my greatest regrets was giving you that ring back, because if I was in your shoes with me nagging all the time and-"

"No Kurt it wasn't like that-"

"Let me finish, I wouldn't have picked up either and you kept all of your promises and that one time I got upset because I knew you just didn't want to talk to me and that killed me because we've always been able to talk to each other. I know I over reacted but honestly I was just scared. So if its okay with you I would love the ring back." Blaine looked up and smiled at him in shock.

"You want it back?"

"Yeah, honestly its the best gift I have ever gotten."

"Then I will be happy to give it to you, and this time I promise to keep my promises and to always love you." He handed the ring back to Kurt and leaned in and placed a soft kiss on his lips. "And now good sir your Birthday isn't over yet."

"What do you mean?"

"Wait and see." Blaine smiled and started the engine making his way back to Kurt's house.

As they got to the front door Kurt turned to Blaine and give him a soft kiss.

"What was that for?"

"For being the best husband in the world."

"Well come on lets go inside its freezing out here."

Kurt turned around to unlock the door and-

"SURPRISE!"

"Oh my God." he turned around to Blaine who was grinning for ear to ear and whispered. "I think I just crapped myself." Blaine just laughed at him.

"Come on lets go say hi and get a drink."

Kurt looked around the room to see everyone he loved looking at him or mingling with each other. His Dad and Carol were there, Finn, Rachel and very bored looking Christopher, Santana and Brittany, All his friends from work and even-

"Oh my God! Mercedes? Sam? What are you doing here?" He smiled as he gave them both hugs.

"Your boy here invited us." Mercedes answered. Kurt turned back to Blaine his eyes misty with tears.

"You did all of this for me?"

"No actually, she did." He pointed over at Liza who was now standing on a makeshift stage.

"Hey everyone can I have your attention?" No one heard her only Kurt and Blaine were looking at her and if no one was paying her attention, they knew what was coming next. "SHUT UP!" she shouted through the microphone, this however did get peoples attention. "Thank you. So today Is my Dad's Birthday." A few people started cheering at that. "Okay be quiet this is my time. Anyway and I would just like to say I love you. Over the past few months I have had to watch you and Dad break as not only a couple but as people and I had to be strong for not only myself but for you both too. It wasn't until the day you told Adam to go and suck it that I saw just how strong you really are, I've been told the story's about when you were bullied by a guy who was actually gay and you never told anyone about him because you are full of compassion, and I know I was harder on you than I was Dad during the break up and for that I'm sorry but now I know I'm the luckiest girl in the world because you're my Dad. So I am in fact going to sing you a song, and yes before you ask it is Miley, why would I sing anything else."

The music started up behind her and she looked straight into Kurt's eyes and smiled at him.

She didn't need to move off the stage as her Dads jumped up on to the 'stage' and wrapped her up in a big hug. Blaine grabbed them both and gave them both a kiss on the forehead. The rest of the people at the party just watched the family embrace. It was a loving family. It was a complete family.
