Blaine pulled over outside his old two story house, he climbed out of the car, walked over to the front door and knocked. It was like routine now for Blaine, this was a journey he has had to make every other Friday for the last five months. He didn't realise how long he had been standing out there until a tall blonde man answered the door.
"Blaine." The man addressed him and let him in.
"Hi Adam is she ready?" Blaine replied not giving the man eye contact. He didn't like Adam and his annoyingly charming English accent but he knew he had to be civil. That's when he walked in the room. Kurt. As much as Blaine tried to stop himself he couldn't help but love Kurt. He had loved Kurt ever since they met on that stair case at Dalton and he found himself loving him more and more each day. He proved his love by marrying Kurt when they were just 20 years old. And they had their first child when they were 22. After Kurt got a full time Job at Vogue and Blaine getting a Job as a teacher straight after leaving college they could afford it. They never wanted to find out who the biological father was out of the two of them it had always been obvious she was Kurt's but Blaine didn't care it just meant she was as beautiful Kurt was.
"Hey Blaine" Kurt said as he walked into the room. Adam automatically putting an arm around his waist, he did it every time, like he was showing off to Blaine that Kurt was now his. In Blaine's mind Kurt wasn't a possession. He was his soul mate.
"Hey" Was all Blaine could say without blushing like a schoolboy.
"Liza! Your Dad's here!" Kurt called up the stairs. Suddenly a young girl, 14 years of age, came running down the stairs, with her backpack. She had natural dirty blonde hair, and was wearing jeans and a pink hoody. "Sweetie do you have your-" Kurt asked but didn't get to finish his question, as his daughter walked straight passed him and out the front door. She was now leaning against Blaine's car with her headphones in her ears, waiting for Blaine to come back out.
"Is she okay?"
"Yeah, just a moody teenager you know?" Adam replied.
"No I don't, she's never like that with me" Blaine answered, he really did not like the way Adam was being fatherly towards his daughter. The atmosphere became suddenly awkward. "I'm going to go, I don't want to keep her waiting"
"Listen, I had another call from her principle, maybe we can grab coffee in the week and talk about it?" Kurt asked suddenly feeling the grip around he his waist tighten.
"Yeah sure, I'll text you or something."
"Okay, see you."
"Bye" And with that Blaine left and walked to his car, as soon as he unlocked it, Liza threw her bag in the back seat, then jumped in the front passenger seat. Blaine started the engine, as he started the 20 minute drive to his own apartment. He looked over at his daughter who had removed her headphones but was just staring at her feet. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing"
"I'm not an idiot. Your Dad isn't here, you can talk to me you know?" She finally looked up and her Father and he looked back just for a second as he had to keep his eyes on the road. But for that second he saw Kurt. She had the same face Kurt had whenever he was upset but was trying to hide it. Even if he didn't get to see the love of his life everyday at least he got to see him through the other love of his life.
"I hate him!"
"Who? Kurt?"
"No Adam!" Blaine wasn't sure whether to feel happy she felt the same, sad because she was miserable or angry that he had made her feel like this
"Why? What did he do?"
"He's just an asshole! He thinks he can talk to me like he's my Dad"
"Have you spoken to Kurt about it?"
"Yeah right! He thinks James Bond is the best thing since sliced bread! And its like as soon as you moved out he just slipped his way in there and I didn't even get a chance to adjust to you not being at home." Blaine was not happy to hear that.
"Look sweetie I know you don't like him, I don't either, but if I have to try then I think you should too. And just think? You have a whole week with me now. Why don't we listen to some music?" Blaine suggested as he turned on the radio. Suddenly a Pop song that Liza seemed to love filled the car and she was singing along with her beautiful voice. Blaine just smiled at her. "I love it when you do that"
"What?"
"Sing, you're voice is like your Dad's." She suddenly stopped singing and looked back at her feet.
"Stop it."
"What?"
"Stop speaking about Dad like that. I know you still love him but when you rub it in like that it gives me hope that you'll get back together but I know you won't."
"I'm sorry sweetie."
"No I should have learned by now."
"You shouldn't have to learn, me and Kurt, as parents should make this as easy as we can for you."
"I love you Dad"
"I love you too sweetie" he took her hand and kissed it gently.
