Title: Bandaged Wings Fly Higher
Rated: M
Pairing: Klaine
Summary: [Note: Blaine is the same age as Kurt, Finn, Puck, etc. in this fic.] **Sequel to Flying on Broken Wings** Blaine Anderson grew a lot in one year. He became an out and confident man rather than a scared and closeted boy. He met and fell in love with Kurt Hummel. Everything was going great beside the usual bullying that hed gotten pretty well used to. So why does one prep school flirt seem to have the potential to ruin everything? And what is it about the future that Blaine is so afraid of?
[and heres a little sneak peek from chapter one]
...
"Of course, Blainers. Where else would boys of our standing go? I already have a note in to the dean to request that we room together. After all, I need a good friend to help me get caught back up to the happenings of dear old Dalton." The smugness on his face seemed to be affecting Kurt, as Blaine felt fingers tightening and digging into his shoulder. "I imagine youre probably on the council with the Warblers by now as well? Im going to need back in, of course. Its only natural that I would be one of the lead soloists. Id say lead, but of course, youll have some songs as well. No one can deny your voice, Blainers."
Before Blaine could even respond, Kurt was opening his mouth, stepping closer to hover over Sebastian. "Im sorry, Meerkat, but my boyfriend Blaine is actually not going to be able to help you with your little mission at your private school. See, he goes to McKinley with me now. And hes in my Glee club. And we will be crushing you and your Warblers. If, of course, you make it back into them, that is." Blaine gulped audibly at the menace in Kurts voice.
"Now, kindly get out of my seat, Meerkat. And do stop calling my boyfriend such a ridiculous name. Its Blaine. And you might want to figure out who else you can rely on to… catch you up." Kurt looked the boy up and down, then sniffed. "Obviously your time away has left you quite out of touch. Your fashion alone is ages behind."
Blaine gaped at his boyfriend, then looked to Sebastian to judge the boys reaction, only to see him seething. Oh, no. There was about to be even more of a scene, and they were already being gawked at by at least three of the closest tables. "Good thing I dont even need to know your name to know you are worthless, Gay-face. Poor Blainers has obviously missed me being here and has fallen from grace to those lesser peons of the public school variety." The smug look on his face made Blaine shiver. "Not to worry, though. I can easily remind him of just what type of man he deserves."
...
Blaine could hardly believe a whole school year had passed since he re-entered the public school system. A whole nine months of proving himself to himself, and hed come out alive. He wasnt unscathed, but he was a better person for it all, and he could honestly say he was happy. Truly and utterly and completely happy. Sure, he still had shitty parents and he still got bullied and he still had to worry about normal teenage things like awkward erections thanks to his amazingly hot boyfriend wearing ridiculously tight pants every damn day… but he was happy.
The morning of the last day of his junior year, Blaine strode into the building without fear in his hazel eyes. He was holding hands with Kurt, bumping their hips together every now and then as they walked with the other members of the Glee club. Puck snuck up behind him and ruffled his hair, which made Kurt grumble at him while Blaine just laughed.
Rachel was prattling on about a plan to clench Nationals next year, since theyd done relatively well and come in third this year. Considering McKinley hadnt even placed in the top ten the year before, that was pretty fantastic improvement. Santana and Brittany were throwing in ideas for choreography along with an enthusiastic Mike, while Tina and Artie discussed edgier song ideas. It was all exciting and encouraging and the whole time, no slushies found their way to any of the New Directions members.
Even if there had been a surprise attack, it wouldnt have really bothered them. They were a united group of friends, and theyd done great things that year, and they were destined for greatness the next year if any of them had anything to say about it.
The future was bright for one Blaine Anderson, who no longer hid who he really was. He proudly wore his bow ties and boat shoes. He held his boyfriends hand and played the piano and stayed in shape using the bag in the locker room. He still watched football with Burt and Finn, but he also watched musicals with Kurt and Rachel. No matter how confusing he might be to some people, he was exactly who he needed to be in order to be true to himself, and that was all that mattered.
Blaine Andersons wings were finally unbroken.
