November 12 2012 was the day that changed Kurt Hummel's life forever...It was a cold snowy night. He was desperately trying to Get home before nine o'clock so he wouldn't be out past curfew. The roads were pretty bad for a person who'd been driving for 2 years. A deer ran out in front of him making him slam the breaks but, the breaks did squat. He fastly slid and slammed right into a enormous tree.
Kurt survived the accident, but that didn't stop him from having brain damage and becoming slightly mute, then developing the thinking skills of a young child. Kurt's dreams and hopes were now shattered all because of one stupid night.
Blaine loved Kurt despite the brain damage. Him and Burt had a serious talk the night of the accident. He told Blaine it would be ok if he didn't want to be with Kurt anymore. He would understand. But, Blaine was so blinded by love he didn't care.
Kurt always smiled when Blaine was around.
"Rain," said Kurt one night, sitting on the bay window seat ledge as he watched his boyfriend do homework. He looked at Blaine with a big smile, and tapped his finger against the rain splattered glass.
Blaine had looked at him and smiled softly. "Yes, Kurt, rain. Good job, honey. You are so smart." Kurt gave him a cute little smile.
"I like rain, Blaine," Kurt had said, as he averted his Blue eyes back to look out the window, hugging his knees to his chest.
"That's wonderful, sweetheart," said Blaine sincerely. Kurt, the strong person just a few months ago, was now awed over rain. It broke Blaine's heart to see his boyfriend like this, but he loved him nonetheless.
"Do you ever wonder if the sky is crying, Blaine?" asked Kurt, looking over to his boyfriend. "If the sky is crying, I feel bad, Blaine. I want the sky to be happy. Sometimes I feel like the sky, crying."
Blaine tried to hold back tears at Kurt's statement. "The sky can cry, honey. When the sky is happy, the sun comes out. But today I guess something really upset the sky."
"Maybe the ground said something and hurt its feelings," said Kurt. "That isn't very nice."
"You're right, love. Apparently the ground wasn't being very nice to the sky," Blaine had replied as he flipped a page in his text book.
"I want to be happy, Blaine," said Kurt so softly. Blaine stopped reading and looked at Kurt, who was still looking out the window at the rain.
"You're not happy?" asked Blaine. Kurt sighed and a few tears escaped his eyes. "Well, you make me happy. That's all that makes me happy now, Blaine. My eyes are raining."
Blaine knew better than to go over and cuddle Kurt into his arms. He used to do it, but after The accident, Kurt had told him not to do it anymore because it would make him feel more like a little boy, because he knew his thinking was bad.
"Don't be sad, love," said Blaine, on the verge of tears himself. "I promise everything will get better, that you will be happy."
"Pinky promise?" Kurt looked to Blaine hopefully and held up his hand, his pinky outstretched.
Blaine got up and smiled and linked his pinky with Kurt's and squeezed."Pinky promise."
