Chapter 4: 3 Glee Club Is Not Lame!

Blaine

"...Today I'll be audition with the song 'Defying Gravity' from my favorite musical  Wicked." Kurt said

Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by the rules
Of someone else's game

Blaine was standing behind the door to the Choir room. He didn't want anyone to see him; he was there just to hear Kurt sing. The first word Kurt sung Blaine was sold; Kurt was amazing! He couldn't help think about how he was acting toward Kurt that whole week.  

-Flashback-

"I talked to Mr. Schuester. I have an audition on Thursday!" Kurt said smiling ear to ear

"You're still going through with this? That club is so lame..." Blaine replied

"Of course I'm still going through with it! Singing is just about HALF my life. And the club is NOT lam-"

"It's not the Warblers Hummel! Those kids have slushy facials daily. They are in the basement of high school food chain." Blaine interrupted

"Well I don't care where they are in the ‘food chain'. I want to join if you don't like it to bad!" he said turning and storming off

-End of Flashback-

WHY am I such an Ass Hole! He sings beautifully. DAMN! Blaine thought to himself. He hated feeling guilty to him it was on of the worst things to feel next to sad and feeling sorry for people. He was now sitting on the ground leaning against the door.

Kurt hit those high notes perfectly! How?! Blaine thought again. He just felt bad for acting like he had. Kurt clearly was right on his part.

This week had been frustrating with Blaine being a jerk, but he had to focus on his audition for the glee club. He had got the audition on tuesday and he found the perfect song to sing once he had gotten home that night. He was going to sing 'Defying Gravity' from Wicked. The song was in his range and was his favorite song from the musical. He had the audition was being held on Thursday.

When Thursday came he was nervous but ready. Kurt was singing in front of the whole Glee Club today, he had to be nervous, but he knew this song inside out and backwards. he was in Global Studies (his last class of the day). Blaine was sitting next to him; they haven't talked since Kurt had told him about the audition. He didn't see the problem with Glee Club? But then again he also didnt understand  Blaine.

He has seen Blaine be mean and rude to other students. Pushing, shoving, name calling, and the fight with Karofsky. He wasn't rude or mean or did any of those to him, Kurt just wonders why? Does he feel bad? Does he want to be my friend? Kurt would shake his head when a thought like that came up. Blaine doesn't have any friends as far as he knew, why would he want to be Kurts?

RING

As he school bell rang people started to shuffle out of class and through the door way of the school. All except Kurt and a couple people who were in fron of him. Oh! They're in Glee Club? There was that kid that was in Language with him. The one with the moehawk. Also, that brown haired cheer leader. This made him a bit more nervous but he still kept walking to the choir room.

When we walked in, it seemed like the whole room was long at him. Oh there is A LOT more kids in here then I expected! That when he saw Mr. Shuster and the older man started talking to the group more then Kurt in his welcome.

"Oh Kurt! You made it!" Kurt smiled and nodded his head. "Guys, this is Kurt Hummel, you might have him in some of your classes? He came from WesterVille and is going to audition for the New Directions isn't that right, Kurt?"

"Yes I am, thank you Mr. Shuster. Um, well yea I am from WesterVille i went to Dalton Academy and was apart of their a capella group called the Warblers. I am going to audition today with the song 'Defying Gravity' from my favorite musical Wicked." Kur took a deep breathe and began to sing.

"Something has changed within me

Kurt didn't look at the group of teens listening to him sing- he looked past them. He didn't know if they were enjoying the song or not. He didn't even know if any of them knew what he was singing beyond what he told them. All he knew was that he had to finish and that he thought he was doing good.

That was it. The song was over. It felt like I just started though. Is time suppose to fly when your nervous? Oh Mr. Schuester's talk I should probably listen.

"Wow Kurt! That was Amazing! You blew that song out of the water for sure! I think we can all agree," The older man look across the smile or shocked faces "Welcome to Glee Club Kurt!"

The group of teenagers cheered. A short brunet in a some-what cute white and beige dress, got up and walked towards him with her hand extended

"Hi, I'm Rachel Berry! I wanted to formally welcome you to the New Directions. I am one of the co-captains with my boyfriend over there, Finn. I just really want to tell you, you did an amazing job on 'Defying Gravity'; I love Wicked too! So are you a soprano because you can hit those high notes very well?"

Wow this girl, Rachel, talks a lot! But she seems nice. "I am actually a counter-tenor. I can hit low alto notes as well"

"Really! Wow, I've never met a countertenor before. You'll have to sing me your range some time..." Rachel just continued talking. Kurt nodded and  laughed when he thought was the right times till 4:30- the time Glee Club was out. He and Rachel had exchanged numbers so the can text each other. Rachel said she had a feeling they were going to be good friends.

When everyone started walking out the door he decided he would just thank Mr. Shuster again.

"Mr. Schuester I want to thank you again for letting me audition today, and also welcoming me into the New Directions."

"Oh Kurt it's no problem not when you have a voice like your own I couldn't have said no." He said putting a hand on Kurt's shoulder. Kurt nodded and turned to walk out when Mr. Schuester called his name.

"Yes Sir?" Kurt asked

"You can call me Mr. Shue its much easier then my whole last name." Mr. Shue said with a slight chuckle

"Okay. Bye Mr. Shue!" Kurt turned and walked out the door with none other  Blaine.

Blaine

He was amazing! Better then amazing! Blaine had been sitting there for just about an hour just thinking to himself how good Kurt did on his song. He forgot he needed to leave. How did he do that? He then looked down at his phone, it read 4:27pm. Oh my god I have to leave what if someone see's me?! They'll no somethings up! He still had his feet rooted to the ground. What if Kurt see's you? Huh? You can use the detention excuse the boys in every class with you! Blaine started to move around the corner. You're not even going towards a door! But it was too late he heard the kids start shuffling out of the room. He just stayed there until he didn't hear any more.

Blaine thought it was clear for him to start walking, when he bumped into Kurt. Well Shit! Kurt was confused and he didn't know what to do.

"Blaine? What are you doing here, school ended an hour ago?" Kurt asked still confused

"I had detention Hummel." Blaine replies. He's going to know your lying stupid! Again you have EVERY class together!

"But I haven't seen you get in trouble since I met you?" Kurt wondered out loud "How did you get a detention?"

"Because I did Hummel! God! You don't know me! You don't know what I do!" Blaine yelled, Why are you yelling at him?! He didn't do ANYTHING! He just wanted to know why you were here? Stop being a douchebag!

"Why are you yelling at me?" Kurt asked in a small voice that just made Blaine's heart squeeze.

Blaine huffed out in frustration and just walked towards the exit and left. Why did I do that?
