Author's Notes: So it is with a heavy heart that I post this today. These past few days have been filled with anger, grief, and unwaviering sorrow. Between the tragedy which occured so close to me on Friday, to the vigils that I have attended, to that evil person starting with Chris AGAIN I just needed to write something positive. And to help brighten this note, how about that interview with Chris where in insinuated that Klaine will be a thing again! HA!PS. I do not own Glee. That land of mayhem and madness is a product of RIB. This madness is just my take on theirs.

The room was silent, except for the occasional crack from debris hitting their windows from the storm raging outside.  Marley was staring at Rachel’s face, which was lightly illuminated by the lone Virgin Mary candle sitting on the table.  They all found in hilarious that they were the only candles left in the city, now the humor was lost.  Rachel’s jaw open and shut silently as she struggled to find words to speak.  Kurt was angry, very angry.  He could not believe that she would be so absent minded as to out Blaine on Facebook.  Well, wait.  Yes he could, he hasn’t known her for long, but he was starting to realize that it was a very Rachel Berry thing to do.  Kurt looked down at Blaine, whose face was only visible by the flickering candle light, desperately trying to read his emotions.  Blaine’s face was blank; the only emotion he showed was a furrowed brow indicating that he was deep in thought.  Kurt held his boyfriend tighter.

“I- I’m so sorry Blaine, I didn’t even realize it.  Oh my God. I am so, so, so sorry.”  Rachel stammered out, earning a glare from Kurt.  Blaine still maintained his silence and turned to glare at her.

After thirty long, awkward seconds Blaine finally spoke.  “I need a minute.”  He got up and went to his room, shutting his door a little harder than he actually intended to.

“I can’t believe you did that.” Kurt hissed in a whisper at Rachel.  “I would think you, of all people, would be sensitive to what he is going through right now.”

“I know.  I don’t know it’s just so fluid now, everyone was so happy, it just seemed right.  I didn’t mean to.  I should have just said friend, but I didn’t.  Now he’s going to hate me.  Oh God, what did I do?”

“Rachel, he is not going to hate you.  And what is done is done, all you can do now is watch you words better the next time.  Also I would recommend you NOT answer any of those notifications on your phone.  Turn off your phone, conserve your battery.  I am going to go talk to Blaine.”  Kurt got up to leave Marley to try and sort out the, now freaking out, Rachel.  Kurt did not even feel the least bit sorry for his cousin, Rachel was her friend first.

Kurt first went into the kitchen and looked around in the cabinets with aid of the world’s smallest flashlight.  He laughed at how ridiculous he must look with the tiny funsized light.  He quickly found was he was looking for a grabbed a bottle of water quickly out of the fridge.  He quickly shut the door to conserve the temperature, which would soon begin to quickly drop.

Kurt shuffled his way across the floor in attempts to avoid walking into something or stubbing his toes on the random toy spread across the floor.  He let his hands guide across the door looking for the handle.  When he found it he slowly opened it, sticking his head in the room before fully opening the door.  The room was pitch black besides the tiny tea light on the bureau, which only lite enough to see outlines of figures in the room.  He could see Blaine, lying face down on his bed, arm draped on the side.  It was almost like he was asleep, but Kurt knew better.  He knew Blaine was lost in thought, his back raised as he sighed deeply.

Kurt walked into the room and quietly closed the door behind him.  He tiptoed to the bed and crawled in next to Blaine.  He lay silently on the bed, his body flush with Blaine’s.  Blaine was staring the other way off into what appeared to be nothing.  He put down what he had in his hand at the head of the bed and used his right hand to rub circles into his boyfriend’s back.  Blaine sighed again and turned his head to look at Kurt.

“Hey.” Kurt whispered with a slight smile on his lips.

“Hey.”  Blaine breathily replied.

“Are you okay?”

“Yea, I mean, I guess.”

“Do you want to talk about it?”

Blaine sighed, yet again and began his attempts to sort out his emotions out loud to his boyfriend.  “I mean, I am not upset that it’s out there, you know?” Kurt nodded in understanding, staying silent to allow Blaine to continue.  “It’s just that I wanted to do it.  It’s not like I knew exactly how I was going to do it; I just wanted to be able to be the one to do it.  I guess I am more so trying to figure out what I am going to say to everyone now.  What do I say to them?”

“You don’t have to explain yourself to anyone Blaine.  If they are truly your friends they will be there for you and accept it for what it is.  I bet, if they are anywhere near as amazing as you say they are, they will be just like Marley.  Welcome who you are and your truth with open arms.”

“Yea, your right, it’s just sudden.  I guess I am just trying to process it all.”

“I understand.”

“Well, at least I get to show off my gorgeous boyfriend off to everyone now.  Thank you for being so patient with me.”

“Of course babe, I understand what it’s like preparing yourself to come out.  I would never expect anyone to do it before they were ready.”

“They are going to love you.”

“Well I would hope so, I am pretty loveable.”  Kurt replied with a wink.

“Of course you are.”  Blaine replied back with a kiss.

“So Rachel thinks you’re going to hate her now.”

“No, I’m not even remotely mad at her, I was more shocked.  But, I think I’d rather make her sweat for a little while and spend some time with you.”

“I approve.”

“So what did you bring me? I saw you came in with something.”

“Oh I got you water and,” he grabbed the items just above his head “gummy bears.”

“Gummy bears?  You know my go-to snack when I’m stressed out?”

“Of course, red and whites are the only ones worth eating.”

“How are you even real?”

“I try.”

The boys ate gummy bears and partook in playful banter until sleep slowly came over the two.  A lot needed to be said between the members of the tiny family, but it could wait until morning.  Right now Blaine just needed to be held by his boyfriend.  They peacefully slept, Blaine’s back flush with Kurt as Kurt held him tight.  For the first time Kurt was so content in the moment that he honestly didn’t care that he was sleeping in his very expensive clothes.

*x*x*

The peaceful surrender didn’t last long because around four am Kurt was awoken by a frantic Blaine who was throwing his arms around the best in desperation.

“Blaine! Blaine what’s wrong?”  Kurt jumped up in panic.

“The baby, where’s the baby?  She was right here, where is she?”  Blaine was in a sleepy panic.

“Blaine, Bee is with Rachel and Marley in Rachel’s room.  It’s okay.”  Kurt replied calmly as he took Blaine’s hand into his own.

“Oh thank God.  I just- I just panicked.  I got so used to her sleeping in my arms that when she wasn’t here I thought something happened to her.”  Blaine’s breathing slowly returned to a normal rate as Kurt curled up next to him and took the shaken man into his arms.

“Do you want me to go get her?”

“No, no.  Let her sleep.  I think I would like to cuddle with the sexy man in my bed right now.”

“Hmmm, as wonderful as that sounds it’s going to have to wait a few minutes, we are still in our clothes babe.”

“It’s too dark to find pajamas right now.”

“Well looks like we’ll have to just sleep in our under clothes.”

“Hmmmm, looks like we shall.”  Blaine flirtatiously replied as the both stood in the pitch black room and stripped to their t-shirts and boxers.

As the two snuggled into the bed and pulled the covers over their body Blaine’s heart started to race.  This is the most intimate he had ever been with anyone.  No he doesn’t count Rachel.  That was a night full of alcohol fueled hormones and bad decisions.  Now this, on the other hand, was with someone he was falling in love with; another man who, unbeknownst to him, feels the same exact way about him.  They were almost naked, in his bed, bodies touching.

The two men lay facing each other, Blaine resting his head on Kurt’s arm as they tangled their legs together and intertwined their free hands.  The foreheads met with such tenderness, it made them both gasp.  The two leaned in for a chaste peck to the lips and an Eskimo kiss before slightly pulling away.  The room was pitch black, the two could barely make out the outlines of each other’s features.  But somehow it seemed to be that their bodies joined as one, and even in the blackness they could look into each other’s eyes and see their souls.

The emotions overwhelmed both men, both too shocked to move, or to even care.  They smiled at one another and closed their eyes, allowing sleep to overcome them once again.

*x*x*

Even though it seemed to be impossible the couple woke up in even more of a tangled mess then they fell asleep in.  Kurt woke up just before Blaine their legs intertwined in such a way that shouldn’t be humanly possible. Before Kurt can really begin to fully function he heard a muffled moan and felt Blaine pull him tighter.

Ooooohh.’  Kurt thought as he felt what exactly was rubbing against his hip.

“Mmm, so hot-“ Blaine mumbled in his sleep, causing Kurt to audibly giggle.  Blaine woke up at the sound of Kurt’s giggle.  “Morning.”  He muttered and began to stretch.  In doing so he realized that there was more than one part of him that was awake.  “Oh my God!  I am so sorry, I didn’t mean-, it’s just-“ Blaine rambled out as he pulled his hips away from Kurt.

“Blaine,” Kurt began pulling Blaine in for a kiss.  “It’s okay.  It happens.”  Blaine just looked at Kurt, his cheeks flushed from embarrassment.  “Besides, I kinda liked it.”

If Blaine’s face wasn’t red before; it would have definitely been after that comment.  “Wait, what?”

“I definitely like what I felt.  I must say, I am pleasantly surprised.”

“You just can’t say things like that.”

“And why not?”

“I dunno, cuz reasons.”  Blaine attempted to rationalize, only to earn more laughs from the peanut gallery.

“Oh Blaine, you are incredibly attractive, and I can’t wait until the day that you let me show you how amazing you are.”

“I- I don’t think I am ready for all that yet.”

“Thanks okay, neither am I.  But when we are I know it’s going to be amazing.”  Blaine just smiled and rested his head on his boyfriend’s chest.  Minutes later they heard a faint pitter patter and a tiny, chubby palm hitting the door.

“Welcoming committee.”  Blaine acknowledged and got up to go let in the baby girl.

While Bernadette attempted to dance around the bedroom in her pajamas that were just a tad too small to cover her belly, the two men threw on some sweatpants so they could join Rachel and Marley in the kitchen.

“So, do you think you’ve made her suffer enough Blaine?”

“Yea, I’ll talk to her.  First I want to see what’s going on outside, I see we still have no power.  What time is it even?  How are we supposed to tell?”

“Blaine, it’s called a watch.  You know people do wear them, they can be a fabulous accessory to any ensemble.”

“Of course, so what time is it?”

“Wow it’s already ten.  It’s a good thing that my job notified us Saturday that we were going to be closed.”

“Come here you.”

“Can I help you Mr. Anderson?”

“I’d say you can, how about you kiss me before we have to face the hens.”

“Anytime.”  Kurt replied as he leaned in for a kiss.

After a few seconds they were interrupted by little hands pulling on their pants and a not so tiny voice coming from below.  “DA-DEE! DA-DEE!  Eee”

“Welp, that was fun while it lasted, let’s get this little diva something to eat.”

“Let’s.”

The trio walked in to the kitchen where Blaine got a banana for the baby and Kurt prepared them some instant coffee.  God, the stuff was horrid, but it was coffee none the less.  Thank whatever may be out there that they had cooking gas so they could at least still have it hot.

After coffee was distributed between the two and the curly hair baby had her snack they went into the living room to join Rachel and Marley.  Blaine and Kurt first went to the front window and looked out at the storm that was still raging.  Their neighborhood was silent except for the battering of the storm.  There was no traffic, no children running about, no hustle and bustle, and just barren streets.  For some reason that was unsettling to all of them.  It was eerie.

A chill went down Blaine’s spine as he pulled up the blinds and tied the cord in place.  It wasn’t exactly bright outside, but they needed as much light as they could muster in the apartment.  They didn’t have a lot of windows in their small apartment.

Rachel picked up Bernadette and walked over to where Blaine was standing.  Adjusting the baby on her hips she finally broke the silence. “Hey Blaine?  I am so sorry about yesterday.  I wasn’t thinking and it was completely inconsiderate of me.”  Bernadette started fighting to get out of her mother’s arms when she saw that her daddy was there.

Blaine reached over and took the excited baby from Rachel’s arms, who immediately started playing the drums on his head.  “It’s like I’m that dad from Dinosaurs.”  Blaine chuckled.

“Not the mama! Not the mama!” He heard Kurt shout from the couch.  At that point, he couldn’t have been serious even if he wanted to be.

“Rach, I’m not mad at you.  I know that it was a mistake.  I mean, I wish it hadn’t happened.  That is something that I wanted to do myself; but, it’s done and it’s over with and we can all move on with our lives.”

Before Rachel could answer a loud CRACK sounded against the window.  Bernadette started crying and Kurt ran to look what had made the sound.

“Debris is hitting the window.  It’s still really bad out there.  Looks like we’re in for the long haul.”  He paused and took out his cell phone to try and call his dad.  “Shit, there is no service and it looks like the internet’s gone out too.”

“Whoa.”  Was all Blaine could reply as he bounced the frightened little girl in his arms.  Kurt excused himself from the room to allow Blaine and Rachel to finish their conversation in private and headed to the bathroom to wash up.

As Kurt washed up with the cold water the realization that they had no power, and the storm was still raging hit him like a ton of bricks.  They were essentially cut off from the outside world.  In 2012 everyone depended on the internet and electronics devices to manage throughout life and now they had none.  How very Little House on The Prairie.  While the thought scared him, he welcomed it at the same time.  He fully planned on taking advantage of the solitude that no electronics would give them.  Who knows what the days coming would bring them, he looked forward to the adventure.

End Notes: This may not be updated again until after the holidays. Mainly due to the craziness that are the holidays, but also to the horrific fact that the Westboro Baptist church are planning on coming and protesting the funerals. I will be protesting them protesting. I will also be updating FILWL after the holidays, I am already writing it up.So until next time - I hope you all have a WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDERFUL holiday season and know that you are all freaking amazing. Also please, while you are lighting candles, saying prayers, and good wishes - please light one, and say one for the victims of the shooting. They were just babies, and the adults heros. They deserve to be forever honored.
