Author's Notes: Sorry it took a little longer than I anticipated. Took a trip, jet lag is a bitch and had an amazing trip at that. ANNDDD one of my favorite Kurt/Bernadette scenes is in this chapter. I squeed writing it. As usual... I own nothing but a bottle of Jack

“Shit. Shit. Shit.”  Blaine mumbled on his way up to pick up Bernadette.  He just took a look at the weather and there was a hurricane headed up the east coast.  It was looking bad and it was definitely going to be raining on their Halloween parade.  The governors’ of the tri-state area were already having a tizzy as the announced possible evacuations.  It was the first time the Blaine had actually sat to watch the news in a long time.

Blaine ran up the stairs and hastily knocked on his boyfriend/Marley’s door.  Marley answered the door stepping out of Blaine’s way.

“Hey Blaine, Kurt is in his room with Bee.  He is putting the final touches on her costume.”

“It looks like the only Halloween she is going to get is tomorrow at Central Park with that storm coming.”

“Yea, everyone is freaking out.  I hope that they are just over playing it.  I can’t lie though, I’m scared Blaine.”

“Why?”

“Blaine, we are from Ohio, we don’t get hurricanes.  It’s a little terrifying. Have you seen the size of that storm?  Whether it hits us or not we are going to get slammed with rain.”

“It will be okay babe.  Let me see what trouble those two are making.”

Marley laughed and walked back over to the couch.  Blaine tip toed to his boyfriend’s door to see him brushing the little girl’s curls out of his face with the softest, girliest brush he had ever seen (classic, soft bristled, silver plated and bejeweled), before putting on her custom bedazzled crown.  The dress was stunning.  It was a miniature ball gown, full of lace, sparkle and body.  It had long sleeves, enough to keep her warm in the semi-cool fall weather.  He silently pulled out his phone and pressed record, while hiding in the doorway as Kurt started talking to Bee.

“Well my fair lady, you look like you are ready to be the belle of the ball.  And might I add the purple tones to the dress make your eyes absolutely pop.  You are going to be the most beautiful baby girl of them all.  May I have this dance?”  Kurt held out his hand to the baby that was standing on his bed giggling in delight.  He playfully bowed before her and she grabbed his long fingers with his tiny, chubby hand.  Blaine smiled and watched Kurt swooped Bernadette into is arms and began waltzing with her as he sang.

A dream is a wish your heart makes
When you're fast asleep.
In dreams you lose your heartaches
Whatever you wish for, you keep
Have faith in your dreams and someday
Your rainbow will come smiling through
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
the dream that you wish will come true

Blaine felt tears come to his eyes out of pure joy as he watched Kurt stop dancing with the laughing baby and her begin to rest his head on his shoulder.  Blaine snapped a quick picture as they both closed their eyes contently and sighed.  This was a Kodak moment if there ever was one.

“Excuse me,” Blaine spoke up causing Kurt to jump.  He had been so engrossed with the baby he hadn’t even noticed Blaine come in.  “But, may I have this dance?”

Kurt laughed and walked over to Blaine and kissed him.  “Dada!  Feegaro!”

Kurt and Blaine looked quizzically at each other and then back at the baby.  “Blaine, did she just say Figaro?”

“I think she did.”  Blaine said laughing.

“Feegaro!  Feegaro!”  Bernadette shrieked gleefully.

“Well, it wouldn’t surprise me.  Bohemian Rhapsody is almost a daily song in our house. She is Rachel’s daughter.”

Kurt couldn’t help but to roll his eyes and smile.  He felt a buzz in his pocket and took out his phone.  It was an alert from the national weather service.

“Crap Blaine, they said this storm is heading straight for Jersey and us.”

“When is it supposed to start?”

“Sunday.  They already announced that they are closing the MTA Sunday evening.”

“Wow, it must be serious then.”  Just then it was like a bulb went off in his head.  “You know, I have to go shopping to get all the necessities.  Why don’t you come ride the storm out with us?  I don’t think I would be able to rest without knowing that you were safe.”  Blaine added as he gave Kurt his best puppy face.  “Annnnnndddd, it would give us some alone time.”

Kurt was more than intrigued.  “I suppose we could do that.  But where would Marley and I sleep?”

“Well you can stay with me, obviously, and the baby and Marley can stay with Rachel.”  Kurt shot him a curious look.  “Yea, ever since our fight I have been sleeping with the baby so I don’t have to hear her complain about having to wake up with her. I’m just trying to keep the peace.”

Kurt just nodded in agreement.  “Sure, we can do that.  We will come by on Sunday with our disaster relief supplies, that I am about to go out and buy.”

“You should come with me.  We can get a cab from the store.”

“Sure let’s get the baby out of her costume and get out of here, you still have a show to do tonight.”

Kurt honestly felt like he was in high school again, spending the night with his boyfriend, he couldn’t help but feel giddy.  For a second he couldn’t help but to laugh at himself, he felt like a kid again, but it’s not like he is old. He’s barely twenty.

“Hey babe, you know I got that on video.  It’s soooo going on YouTube.”  Kurt just smiled, he honestly didn’t care.

**

Sunday afternoon found Blaine, Kurt, Rachel, Marley and Bernadette huddled together on the couch watching the news.  This storm was going to be bad and it was coming quickly.  They were prepared, of course, candles, lots of water, canned food, canned milk for the baby, instant coffee, fully charged electronics and flashlights.

Yesterday they thought it might just be for a night, now they are fearful it will be for a lot longer.  Kurt sends off a text to his father and aunt telling them where they will be and that they will update them as often and they could and Rachel did the same.

They spent the afternoon laughing and joking with each other, reliving high school memories and creating new ones.  Blaine spent the entire afternoon huddled in Kurt’s embrace, far too comfortable and far too secure to even want to move.

By the time evening fell the winds were strong and the lights were already flickering.  Blaine only got out of Kurt’s arms long enough to put Bernadette to bed and make a quick trip to the bathroom.  He looked out the window in the living room before he headed back to the couch.  He stared out at the quickly blackening sky and watched the wind blow the birds sideways as they attempted to take hold to whatever perch they could find.  He found solace that he was in his home, safe, no need to hold on for life.  He had his little family and he had Kurt.  At the end of the day if the winds would hit him hard, he knew he had a few amazing people to hold on to.  He smiled as he closed the curtains and went back to Kurt.

“How’s it looking out there babe?”  Kurt asked as Blaine curled back into his lap.

“It’s getting bad out there.  I’m so glad to be in here; in here with you.”

Kurt smiled down at Blaine and kissed his forehead.  “Me too, babe.  Me too.”

Rachel pulled out her phone and absentmindedly updated her Facebook.  We’re doing okay so far!  Lights have been flickering but we are safe and warm in the house.  We have Marley and Blaine’s boyfriend Kurt with us! It’s like one big sleepover :) Maybe I can make it a sing-a-long.’  She put her phone back on the coffee table and the four continued to watch the movie that was on.

It took about ten minutes for Rachel’s phone to start buzzing from the notifications and the same amount of time for Blaine’s phone to start chirping with text messages.  Blaine picks his phone off the charger and unlocks the screen.  “Who the hell is blowing my phone up right now?”  He mumbled to himself.  Twenty new texts? What the fuck?  It only took him reading two or three to figure out what happened.  “Dude, boyfriend?  What’s with Berry’s FB? I thought u n her were 2gether.”  “Wait, ur gay?  That’s cool I mean. U could hv told me.”  “I always knew Berry turned men gay.”

His eyes wide he opened Facebook and scrolled his feed to see Rachel’s post.

“Baby what’s wrong?”  Kurt asked quietly as he felt Blaine’s body tense up against his.  He pulled his grip on the shorter man tighter.

“Rachel, you just outed me.”  The two remaining sets of eyes darted across the room at Rachel.

Just then, with a pop, their world went dark.
