Author's Notes: Sorry for the delay - it has been a choatic week! I am also emotionally distressed from 4.03 andddd I am trying to mentally prepare myself for Oct 4. So I made this happy KLAINE! YAY! As usual - I own nothing

The next two weeks flew by for Kurt.  Every morning he would leave a little earlier in the morning to talk to Rachel in the morning.  Yes, even though he was starting to see that she is probably clinically insane, it was as if they were cut from the same mold.  Kurt was starting to embrace her crazy, just not her interior design.

“So Rachel,”  Kurt started, adjusted his scarf.  Yes first scarf of the season, it was getting cold quickly in NYC. “there is one thing that we need to discuss that we haven’t had the joy to talk about.”

“You and Blaine?” Kurt’s eyes popped open at the remark.

“Wh – No.”  He said shaking his head.  “We need to talk about your, um, taste in interior design.”

“What do you mean?”

“I saw your room.”

“Isn’t it beautiful?”  Rachel asked in all seriousness.

“No.” Rachel feigned a look of offense.

“Hey!”

“Well it would be great if it were just the baby’s room Rachel, but you are an adult.  It’s time to grow up.”  Rachel just frowned at him.  “What are you doing tomorrow?”

“Uh, nothing much, just hanging out with Blaine and Bee before Blaine goes to work.”

“Well, Miss Rachel Berry, you and are I going shopping.  We are going to give your room a makeover.”

“But I like my room.”

“Bernadette is going to start having nightmares.”  Rachel heard one of her coworkers start laughing in the background.

“Uh, okay fine.  Only because I want to get to know you better.”

Kurt got excited. “Great.  I’ll be at your apartment at nine sharp.”

“Okay. Before you go Kurt.”

“Yea?”

“So what’s up with you and Blaine?”

*x*x*

Blaine spent the better part of the last two weeks really thinking about his conversation with Kurt.  Half of him wanted to scream everything from the rooftops and just be done with it, but the other half was still worried about what the reaction might be.  He felt horrible about lying to everyone for so long.  But, he felt it had to be done.   He slowly started to prepare himself for at least a break up announcement between the two.  He made his relationship status on Facebook private and turned it to single.  He changed his profile picture from a picture of the two of them to one that Kurt took of him during one of his performances.

Kurt was right, both he and Rachel deserved to be able to live their lives to make themselves happy.  They are in a new state with a new life.  He cut his father out of his life so he could honestly care less about how he felt about anything.  He would tell his mother when he was ready, he would let her figure everything out on her own.  Yes, he loved her, but she never really played the mothering role when it came to Blaine’s relationship with his father and he kind of resented her for it.

Today was a new day, the beginning of a new life, and he was ready to at least live that life here and be happy for once.  To start living the life he wanted to live, he needed to be honest.  He needed to tell one of his closest friends the truth.

To Marley (3:07 PM): Are you home?

From Marley (3:08 PM): Yea, of course.  The baby and I are watching Mickey Mouse.

To Marley (3:10 PM): Do you mind if I come by.  I want to talk to you.

From Marley (3:11 PM): Of course.

Twenty minutes later Blaine was being buzzed into Marley and Kurt’s building.  Unlike most days, when he practically ran up the stairs, today he walked slowly and reserved. He was trying to figure out how exactly to tell Marley about everything. He bit the insides of his cheeks and he pushed open the door that Marley left cracked for him.

“Hey Blaine, come on in.  What’s up?”  Blaine slowly made his way to the couch where Marley and Bernadette were sitting.

Bernadette saw him come and so she slid of the couch and ran/wobbled her way over yelling “Da-deee Da-dee!”  Blaine could help but smile and relax.  If there was anything in this world that could make all of his troubles go away it was that little girl right there.  He picked her up and gave her a kiss and went to sit next to Marley.

“Uh, I really don’t know how to tell you this.”

“What’s wrong Blaine?”  Marley was genuinely concerned and Blaine could tell.

“You asked before what was wrong.  I wasn’t ready to tell anyone then, but I’m ready to tell you now.” She nodded knowingly and Blaine continued.  “You are only going to be the third person I told this to.  And it’s really important to me that you don’t tell anyone else.  I will tell everyone back home on at my own time, when I’m ready.  Right now I just want to be able to be me, at least here.  Marley… I – I’m gay.”

Blaine spent the next thirty minutes explaining to her the whole situation and what and how everything happened.  By the end of the conversation Blaine was overwhelmed by his emotions and a few tears trickled down his face.  Marley hugged him tightly helping him compose himself again.

“Blaine, you know you could have been honest with us. None of us would have judged you or Rachel.”

“It wasn’t our friends we were worried about, it was everyone else.”

“I understand.  Blaine, I want you to know that I am so happy that you finally told me your truth.  I love you just the same as I did thirty minutes ago.  I consider you one of my best friends and nothing can change that.”

“Thanks Marley, that means a lot to me.”

Marley smiled, and after a silent minute she decided to break the tension.  “So, you said that you like Kurt, huh?”

Kurt sat at his desk waiting for the minutes to count down until Isabelle left for the day so that he could take off, he just couldn’t get his mind off Blaine.  Isabelle spent the day with his gushing over her (and his – with credit of course) latest idea that had Anna Wintour exclaiming praises to then.  To be honest he was completely overwhelmed with emotions just at the fact that THE Anna Wintour liked an idea of his – add Blaine to that mix and it was a deadly concoction of being overwhelmed.  Usually he would call his best friend Mercedes and gush over all of the details of his day; but all he wanted to do was call Blaine and talk to him about his day.  He wanted to talk into the wee hours of the morning about every second and every detail of their lives.  He knew that Blaine liked him too, but he didn’t know if he was ready.  Blaine has only come out to a few people and he doesn’t want to rush him into a situation that he may not be comfortable yet.

Even keeping that in mind, Kurt could only find his mind drifting towards Blaine.  He wanted to hold him and love him and be the man who he calls whenever he needs anything.  More than anything Kurt wanted to be Blaine’s boyfriend.   He just hoped that Blaine would want him the same way.

“Kurt!”  Isabelle called through his door.  “There is a panel in the meeting room in five, bring the portfolios and I want you on your top game!”

“I’ll be right there.”

“Kurt, I couldn’t help but notice that you have been distracted these last few weeks.”

“Oh, I’m sorry it’s just –“

“New guy?”  Kurt looked at her with an expression mixed with shock and confusion.  He and his boss we’re pretty close, but not this close.  Isabelle just smiled at him, waiting for an answer.

“Uh, yea.” Kurt looked down at his hands as Isabelle stood in the door way smiling.

“Oh, Kurt.  You are adorable.  Come on, you can tell me all about him on the way to the panel.” Kurt told Isabelle all about Blaine – and he meant all as they walked to the meeting room.  They were the first ones in the room.

“I am not going to lie to you Kurt, it is going to be difficult at first.  But from the way you talk about him I can tell that he is something special.  I expect to see him – and his little girl – on your arm at the gala party next month.  I also want him wearing your designs.  That is an assignment that you will be paid for.  Now after this meeting I expect you to go right home and get your man.”  Isabelle was nothing if not forward.  Immediately following the meeting Kurt hopped on the first subway back to Brooklyn.

Blaine and Rachel sat in their living room watching Bernadette as she ate her dinner. “Hey Rach,”

“Yea, Blaine? “ Rachel asked as she put more chicken on Bernadette’s plate.

“I told Marley today.”

“Oh hunny that’s awesome!  I’m so glad you are finally ready.”

“Yea, and I think… I think I’m ready to tell your dads.”

“Okay.  But what should we tell them?”

“We need to tell them the truth.  I am so sick and tired of lying to them.”

“Yea, you’re right so am I.  I had never lied to them before all of this and it sucks.”

“I really wish it could be face to face, but I don’t want to wait another two months until Thanksgiving.  I want to tell them soon.”

“Yea, you’re right.  I’ll text them and see if they are both up to Skype tonight.  Is that okay?”

“Yea, I just want to get this over with.”

“But Blaine?”

“Yea?”

“What about your parents?”

“How they feel doesn’t matter to me.  What matters to me are you and your dads’ opinions.”  Rachel just smiled and pulled out her phone to text her dads.

To Kurt (7:38 PM): I’m nervous.

From Kurt (7:40 PM): Why?  What’s wrong?

To Kurt (7:41 PM): I told Marley today.

From Kurt (7:41 PM): Why are you nervous about that?

From Kurt (7:42 PM): And PS that’s awesome.

To Kurt (7:43 PM): No, she’s not why I’m nervous.  We are going to tell Rachel’s dads.

From Kurt (7:44 PM): Dads as in plural?

To Kurt (7:45 PM): She didn’t tell you about her ‘two gay dads’.  I thought that’s how she began every conversation with someone who might possibly be the slightest bit homosexual.

From Kurt (7:47 PM):  OMG haha!  I can so see her doing that.  But they will obviously support you, why are you so nervous?

To Kurt (7:49 PM): It’s a long story.

From Kurt (7:50 PM): I’m a good listener.  Do you want some company?

To Kurt (7:52 PM): Sure, that’d be great.  See you in a few?

From Kurt (7:53 PM):  Be there in a few.

“My dads said that they will both be home tomorrow at 3 our time.  Kurt and I should be home from shopping by then.”

“You’re going shopping with Kurt tomorrow?”

“Yea, he said that my taste in anterior design is basically horrendous so he is taking me out shopping.” Blaine couldn’t help but laugh at his best friend.  “It’s not funny.”

“Oh yes it is.  That room is horrible.  How do you expect to ever get a man to sleep in there if a gay man won’t even be caught dead in it.”

“Shut up.”

“Well speaking of Kurt, he’s stopping by and we are going to talk in my room.  Do you mind hanging out with Bee?”

“Awwww sookie sookie.”

“Now it’s your turn to shut up.”  Blaine remarked as he heard the buzzer signaling that someone was at the door.  Rachel buzzed him in and picked Bee up and went to their room.  Blaine walked over to the door and arrived just as Kurt knocked.

“Hey Kurt, come on in.”  Kurt walked in and kicked off his shoes at the door.  Blaine looked up at his new friend and even though he was rather disheveled that night, he was still absolutely gorgeous.  His eyes sparkled in the light and they seemed to change colors right before your eyes.  He had to snap out of his gaze before Kurt caught on.  “Can I get you something to drink?”

“No that’s okay.”  Kurt replied.  Not only did Kurt catch Blaine’s looks he was looking at Blaine the exact same way.  He was going to ask him to the gala tonight and he was ridiculously nervous.  He hadn’t been this nervous since before he stepped on the plane to JFK last year.  He was never this nervous about a guy before.  There was something about Blaine; something almost magical.

“So Kurt, let’s go to my room. We will be more comfortable.”

“Sure.”

“I like the whole disheveled look you are sporting tonight.”

“Well don’t get used to it.  I thought I was in for the night and you seemed like you needed a friend, so I decided to spare you the hour it would have taken me to doll myself back up and come quite over.”

“Well that is quite appreciated.”  God, he is hot no matter what he wears.  Blaine smirked to himself as he lead Kurt to his bedroom.  They sat on the bed facing each other.

“So Blaine, what’s going on in that head of yours?”

Without even thinking Blaine started pouring out his soul, all of his emotions that he had been bottling up for years. He told Kurt about his parents, all of the horrible things his father said, how he ended up living with the Berries.  He continued to tell Kurt about emotions that he never even shared with Rachel.  The self-loathing for denying who he was and living that lie.  He told him how incredibly guilty he was about what happened that night and causing all of the unnecessary pain.  Without even realizing it he had tears streaming down his face.  He had spent an hour divulging everything he had carrying around in his heart.

Kurt reached over and pulled Blaine into his arms.  The taller man held Blaine tightly and let his finish crying.  Within a minute of being held by Kurt his tears began to dry and his breath began to even out.  Kurt had an overwhelmingly calming effect on Blaine.

“I’m sorry Kurt.”

“Why are you sorry?”

“I didn’t mean to unload on you like that.  Ugh I must seem like a total loser right now.”

“Blaine, look at me.”  Blaine lifted his tear stained face for his eyes to meet Kurt’s.  “You are not a loser and you have nothing to be sorry for.”

“But –“

“But nothing, you have been holding a lot of emotions inside and you do not have the easiest life.  Never apologize for talking to me.  I am your friend and I will always be a shoulder if you need one, okay?”

“Thanks.”  Blaine sniffed and weakly smiled.

“Now, I just want to let you know that you did not ruin your lives.  You and Rachel, both, may have made them more difficult; but they are in no way ruined.  Rachel is still following her dreams.  You may have diverted your dreams to make sure that you are able to support your family, but that just shows what you are quite a man and an amazing father.  Is your life ideal? No.  But you have an amazing best friend who loves you more than life, a beautiful daughter – who looks just like you by the way, and you have me.  Maybe one day you’ll let me have you too.”

“Really?”

“Absolutely. When you’re ready.”

“Thanks Kurt, for everything.”  Blaine leaned in and let his lips hit Kurt’s in a chaste kiss.  Boom. Fireworks.  Everything, for both of the men, felt right.  They pulled apart and looked each other in the eyes smiling wide.

“So Blaine, Isabelle is demanding your attendance at our Gala in two weeks.  She wants you to bring Bernadette as well.  What do you say, will you accompany me as my date Mr. Anderson?”

“Absolutely.”  Kurt wrapped his arms around Blaine and this time it was his lips to meet Blaine’s.

End Notes: I also may have been slightly tipsy when I wrote some of this. Just sayin...
