It was a lovely open room with high beamed ceilings, with a central circle of chairs and seats around with further rows of seats behind them on tiers.  This then was the inner sanctum of the Order of light, which indeed held a full height window to allow the sunshine in to the room.

The inner council members sat at the central table looking at the Four that had just materialised in the hall and the Chamberlain said “Welcome Maria, Kurt, Blaine and … Mercedes” as they nodded their heads looking nervous, the Chamberlain smiled at them and beckoned the youngsters to take the three seats left for them at the table.  The Chamberlain turned to Maria saying “Thank you Maria you may wait outside we won’t keep them long” smiling at her as she nodded and looked at Blaine smiling encouragingly, then left the hall leaving the three in the company of the council.  Just then another person materialised within the hall and Clarice said “Ah, did my invite get lost Chamberlain?” as she made her way to her seat at the table.

The Chamberlain looked slightly annoyed at her presence but looked back at the three youngsters “Well, I for one am glad you are all in one piece” smiling and then turned to Kurt asking him a few questions first, then back to Mercedes then lastly at Blaine.

When he had finished he asked the other council members if they had any further questions to ask and when none answered he turned back to the three and just as he was about to tell them they were free to go back Clarice said “Kurt why did you disappear?”  the other council members looked shocked that she would ask a thing that personal to one of the prophesised two.

Kurt looked over to Clarice and said “I was angry and frustrated no-one was listening to us and I wanted Blaine.  But his Dad took him and they vanished before we could say goodbye that is why I was angry…. Sorry I didn’t think” he added “I went to Mercedes who I knew would be at home, but I didn’t realise they would be looking for me too until they attacked us in Mercedes bedroom”.

Clarice looked at them and then smiled “Thank you Kurt and may I say I am sorry that you felt you had to do what you did.  But in the manner of how you achieved that, then may I be the first to add my congratulations, what you did many older DG’s cannot do easily as that is the domain of Angel-types.  You really are an anomaly aren’t you and we are so lucky to have found you, both of you.”

Then she looked at Mercedes and asked “Why haven’t you told them yet?” Mercedes looked confused at the question directed at her. “Um, tell them what exactly?” Mercedes replied. Clarice smiled again and thought ‘Yes, we have found our songstress’ but smiled then said “Mercedes my dear one you are not what you appear.” This brought a shocked response from those around the table thinking that she may be from the ‘Void’ until Clarice continued “Mercedes you are our missing Angel – songstress”

This brought uproar around the table at that statement much to the amusement of Clarice and the confused expressions from the youngsters.  Then Mercedes said “I’m a what now?” then fainted in her chair, Kurt caught her and held her tightly, as he remembered how he found out about himself.  Clarice came around and put her hand over Mercedes forehead and watched her come around from her faint.  “K-Kurt what happened?” Mercedes asked looking at him, then around at everyone feeling a little frightened, then Kurt said “ENOUGH! Back off all of you NOW!” everyone sat stunned when Kurt said that, some mumbling how rude and ungrateful even if they were the two.  Clarice silenced them with a look and the Chamberlain said “Yes I agree Kurt that was uncalled for, sorry about that my dear” as he spoke to Mercedes he got up and said “This meeting is now ended please ask Maria to re-join us here”

The other council members quickly left and Maria came back in looking anxious as she took in the scene before her with the added member of Clarice talking quietly to the Chamberlain.  Maria made her way over to her son Blaine and his companions. 

Blaine smiled  “Mom, guess what?” he beamed looking at her in excitement. Maria went along with her youngest and replied “What Blaine?”; he beamed one of her smiles at her and stated “Mom meet our newest member to our team the ‘Angel-songstress’ Mercedes” Maria gaped at them, as they smiled then recovered walking over to Mercedes and embraced her fellow Angel.

“I had no idea I had this power I knew my voice was fantastic, but I am like a Super-Diva now” laughing as Maria, Blaine and Kurt laughed with her.  Maria said then “Mercedes do your parents know anything?” Mercedes shook her head saying “No they had no idea about any of this”

Suddenly, a scream was echoing off the walls as everyone left in the hall turned around and Mercedes said “Mom what, how, I’m confused….”, “Mercedes Get your butt over here NOW! Move it young lady” as Mercedes Mom stopped near the doors, Maria and the boys followed behind quickly as Mercedes all but ran to her Mom’s side. Cherrie looked at Maria and said “I expected more from you Maria”, but Maria just looked at her old friend saying “I thought I knew Mercedes, how are you doing Cherrie” Mercedes and the Boys looked between the Moms’ wondering how they knew each other.

Maria then said “Well, how is my protégé Guardian Angel doing these days?” Mercedes gasped as she saw her Mom fidget under the scrutiny of her friend Maria. “Find Maria but you shouldn’t have done this” but Maria said “I didn’t Clarice did it.  I was asked to bring the kids to the council by the Chamberlain after they were attacked and Blaine, my youngest, and myself went to Mercedes and Kurt’s aid.”

“What do you mean aid?” as Cherrie looked to her daughter and Kurt for an explanation, “Well, umm, I called on Mercedes after teleporting to your house from Dalton Academy Mrs Jones.  Then when we were talking in her room we were attacked by Karofsky” Cherrie interrupted “David Karofsky? What has he got to do with this?” Mercedes continued where Kurt let off “Mom let Kurt finish” Kurt said “Karofsky is a Dread Lord Mrs Jones, but he was being controlled by and entity from the ‘Void’ and didn’t really know what he was doing”

Blaine snorted his disbelief and Kurt turned to him asking an unspoken question, but Blaine just raised his eyebrows, rolled his eyes and sighed “Go on with the story Kurt”.  Kurt looked at Blaine but then continued, “We were transported by the entity to an empty warehouse and Karofsky tried to attack us after the initial attack, which caused Mercedes to be hurt badly, but I held my protection bubble around us and hit back destroying the entity causing Karofsky to lose consciousness.  I then called to Blaine telepathically for help and he and his Mom came to our aid.

Maria healed Mercedes, but she is still weak from the blood loss, so Blaine and I transported her back home while Maria took Karofsky and brought him somewhere here”.  Looking for confirmation of the last fact, Maria nodded and Kurt carried on with his explanation “As we explained to Mercedes what we were and Blaine cleaned the room magically, Maria came back telling us all we were requested to appear before the council where they asked us questions and then Clarice discovered Mercedes power. That’s it Mrs Jones that is the story of how we discovered a new member of our ‘Special’ team as Blaine and I are the so called prophesied two.”

Cherrie looked at Kurt and Blaine shocked then and bowed her head in their direction and then hugged her daughter saying “Sorry Cedes I wasn’t angry but I felt the magic and followed you all here, I was just so worried something bad had happened to you baby”. Mercedes just hugged her Mom back and smiled at her saying “Love you too Mom”.

Then they all heard footsteps walking towards them and saw Clarice smiling at the scene then at Cherrie.  “Cherrie how are you, and Frank? I believe I just out-ted your daughter to our life and what a find you must be so proud of Mercedes being the fabled Angel-songstress” Cherrie stared at her daughter with awe clearing written upon her features and hugged her again, tears now streaming down her face.  Clarice said “I think we could all do with some refreshment come back to my offices they are just down the hallway from here.” Clarice led the small group out of the council chambers and along the corridor to a large well lit office where comfortable seats were situated. “Gabriel” Clarice called and he materialised in front of them and said “Yes Clarice how can I help”.  Clarice looked at the group and answered “Refreshments for all I think Gab, join us once you have finished”

Gabriel nodded but spoke “I still need to teach Nick and John the last part then I can join you” Clarice replied “Don’t worry but just the refreshments then go back to Dalton” smiling at her assistant and own Son. With the others finding seats and waiting for their drinks Clarice started some small talk between the women, while the youngsters were talking excitedly with one another.  Gabriel came back in with enough drinks for everyone and then departed back to Dalton and his teaching.

When everyone had settled back down into comfortable comaderie Clarice said “Okay now we have all gotten over our frights, Kurt you can teleport what else can you do?” the others were looking at him in expectation and he replied “Well okay first I didn’t know what I did but I think with more practice I can master teleporting anywhere.  I think I can mentally blast foes into smithereens with a controlled burst, I am able I think to distinguish friend from foe and my counter-tenor can go higher than the human hearing can take and even make people fall unconscious.  Apart from that I think I am really still learning my abilities but I think more are coming out, there is one in particular that is puzzling me….” Clarice encouraged him to continue “Go on Kurt”, “Well I can take others abilities and use them as my own”

The others all gasped as they realised the implications of that announcement, Clarice asked “How do you mean Kurt, taking others abilities using them as if they were yours?” Kurt got up and walked over to Maria “May I” he said Maria looked confused but allowed Kurt to continue.  Kurt placed his hand on top of Maria’s and then she felt a warmth from Kurt’s hand and that was it she felt as if something had been taken away but was suddenly back at the same time. “Kurt what… did you just take something from me and return it or is that yours too now?” Maria asked Kurt.

Kurt looked down at Maria and tried his best to explain what he had done “I think how it works is that I can take a power copy it and return it or not, but I can then use that new power as my own.  Does that explain it clearly enough?”

Clarice looked at Kurt stunned “Kurt what you have done is beyond anyone else’s ability or comprehension” Kurt sat back down near Blaine and he looked a bit scared then. Blaine put his hand on top of Kurt’s to give him support but found that he could feel his Mom’s copied power and he copied it from Kurt.  Kurt looked up at Blaine quickly and started at Blaine’s actions; Clarice didn’t miss it and asked them “What happened then?” Blaine looked awed at what he had done but said “I just copied what Kurt had done… I didn’t know I could do that”

“Oh my, this is just too good to be true…. the writings said something about this ability between you two but I thought we would have to teach you this ability.” Clarice smiled and then got up and rushed to the door asking one of the acolytes to ask that the Chamberlain to come to her offices immediately please. Then came back in sitting back down and staring in awe at Kurt and Blaine, Maria and Cherrie looked just as awed, with Maria looking at her youngest Son with unbridled pride.

Kurt and Blaine talked amongst themselves telepathically saying ‘Blaine how, why, what happens now to us I mean’ Blaine’s eyes darted across at Kurt but he then looked back smiling at everyone although said ‘I don’t know Kurt except WE must be strong, courage babe, courage.  I think we are going to be alright and I think we have a chance against seemingly overwhelming odds.’

Then the Chamberlain arrived looking a bit put out at being commanded to come to Clarice’s office but his expression changed when he was greeted by smiling faces and slightly guilty looks from Kurt and Blaine. He asked “What is it Clarice?” at the smiling face of his next in command, she answered “Angus, we are truly blessed with these two young people.  They have the ‘Gift’ Kurt first showed us what he could do and then by accident Blaine copied his imprint from Kurt.” Angus looked over to the two boys and beamed saying “Clarice we now really do have a chance of surviving this. I think we need to keep this on the quiet so nobody else is to learn of this turn of events.  We have been on the back foot for so long now maybe we have a chance of turning this around to our advantage.”

Clarice nodded and said to the boys “Blaine and Kurt these new abilities must remain secret okay” they nodded their understanding and then she turned to Maria, Cherrie and Mercedes asking them, “From you three we need a formal vow of silence over this”, as Cherrie was about to argue Clarice put up her hands and said “I’m sorry Cherrie but secrecy is our only weapon now after the attack upon the Order of Darkness yesterday” Cherrie was shocked that things had gone so far as she hadn’t heard anything about that but reluctantly agreed to the vow.

Maria and Mercedes had already nodded their consent to the vow of secrecy and then Angus asked them to stand, he then stood in front of the women and used his own powers to implement the ‘vow of secrecy’ over the boys unexpected new powers.  Once this was completed Cherrie said “I must return home do you need Mercedes for anything else?” when they shook their heads Cherrie held her daughters hand and they disappeared.

Maria said to Angus and Clarice “I must return home too, but I must take Blaine back with me Richard has demanded that” Clarice nodded her head in defeat but angus said to Maria “I need to talk to Richard about what had happened today, so could you ask your husband to come see me today privately” Maria nodded and held her hand open for Blaine to take.  Blaine looked at his Mom and then over to Kurt he was divided on what to do.  Kurt saw his problem and said “Blaine go with your Mom, if it is alright I shall follow you later if I am welcome to?” Maria smiled at him and Blaine gently kissed his cheek saying “You are always welcome Kurt, not even my father can stop to that” looking at his mom for confirmation as she confirmed her agreement. Blaine went to his mom and held her hand looking lastly at Kurt before he too disappeared.  Kurt was left alone with Clarice and Angus, then Clarice looked over and said “Are you okay Kurt this is all so much for someone so young to take on”  he smiled and replied “Well that must be the understatement of the century” laughing at the circumstance he found himself in.

Kurt got up and stretch saying he was going back to the apartment then going to see Blaine if that was alright with the adults.  They agreed that may be the for the best, as Angus said he was expecting Mr Anderson very soon, and that he would clarify the situation to Blaine’s father over what he was now allowed to do.

Kurt didn’t want to stick around for that so he said his goodbyes and he too disappeared to the apartment’s bedroom. He materialised to find Nick waiting for him in the apartment, “Blaine … Kurt is that you?” Nick asked from the lounge Kurt answered “It’s me Nick, Kurt, Blaine is at his home his Father insisted.., for now” he muttered the last before walking into the lounge and seeing Nick there.  “What’s up Nick you look concerned?” Kurt asked as he sat in a chair opposite to Nick, Nick looked over to Kurt and said “Where did you both go we were all worried” stopping as Coop appeared in the room “Kurt, buddy” as he came over and embraced Kurt, then said “Don’t EVER do that to me again okay”

Kurt looked guilty and nodded that he would try not to keep them all on their toes, but wouldn’t agree to let them dictate to him anymore he warned.  Coop looked at Kurt and hesitated in his agreement but capitulated as Kurt raised his eyebrow and Coop could see the inner Diva about to come out again.

Nick then asked them a question “umm, guys I think I am in over my head… maybe I need to go home myself to digest everything that I’ve learnt today”.  Just then Jeff came bursting in shouting “Where the hell did you disappear to” looking directly at Nick “After what had occurred today with Blaine and Kurt, you pull a stunt on me like that! I was Really Worried Nick!” coming over and embracing his boyfriend in a hug and nearly breaking down into tears.  Nick looked at the other two guiltily saying “umm, Jeff can we talk about this later I need to talk to Kurt here for the moment that’s why I came here”

Jeff looked at Nick with unshed tears but nodded before sitting next to Nick, as Nick regarded Kurt again “what Gabriel has told me and taught me to do is somewhat frightening experience for me and I need to get my head around all of this in peace and quiet, so I am asking you as one of the TWO to allow me to go home for a few days” he slyly looked at Jeff’s stunned incomprehension and said to him “Babe later okay I’ll explain please” Jeff looked at Nick and could see something that concerned him and all he wanted was to wrap Nick in his arms saying everything was going to be alright.

Kurt replied “Nick why do I need to give you permission for you to leave, doesn’t the Dean have that power and not Blaine or me?” Nick looked back at Kurt and said “Normally yes, but as he said to me to ask you formally, as the now head of two religious orders of combative magic’s, you need to give your consent to it.”

Kurt looked at Nick, then at Coop who shrugged his shoulders and smiled “Well you and Blaine are now the Heads of formerly two orders. Your actions speak volumes now so you better get used to it” he said.

Kurt shook his own head and said “Nick will you be safe at home I mean is it protected with spells, if not Blaine or I can do this for you first?” Nick replied “No it’s okay both my parents are members of the OOL, so the house and grounds had to be protected so that won’t be a problem.” Kurt nodded his head and looked over at Jeff who said “I think it is up to you Kurt, but Nick and I do have to talk things out first before he goes”  Kurt said “So you think he should go what with everything that has been happening around us?” Jeff nodded his agreement to let Nick work things out himself at home.  Kurt then looked back at Nick who sat waiting and Kurt replied “Nick you have mine and Blaine’s agreement for you to go back to your own home for a few days but keep in contact with Jeff to let us know if you need us okay” Nick smiled his thanks and he and Jeff left to have their talk.

Coop looked over to Kurt and said “First leadership command order?” Kurt laughed at that and then said “I need to shower, change clothes Coop, then we are going back to your parents’ house okay” Coop looked a bit surprised at that then thought ‘oh boy this is going to be good with Dad but I can’t argue with one of the two’ so he replied “Okay Kurt how long will you be?”  Kurt said “Give me half an hour okay” Coop nodded then got up to go back to his apartment leaving Kurt to shower in peace.

Kurt locked the door and went to the bedroom to choose his clean outfit for that evening, then went onto the bathroom to shower remembering what he and Blaine got up to in there.  He shook his head and thought later, shower first and ready your-self Kurt Elizabeth Hummel, you have a date with your boyfriend and his family for dinner.
