"I bet you three red jellybeans he has blonde hair." Amelia pushed three of her red jelly beans toward her cousin, Rose, who narrowed her eyes.
"Okay, then I bet he is taller than Blaine." Rose tilted her head and smiled deviously.
"Not fair! Everyone is taller than Blaine!" They both laughed and Rose nodded.
"Okay, fine, fine. You're right. I bet he has brown eyes. If I'm right then I get three jelly beans and that ten dollars you owe me from last time." They girls shook on it and eyed the jelly beans.
"You know, I miss Jett from Christmas. He was nice." Amelia sighed. Rose laughed and shook her head.
"It was Jeff and he was from Nana Matilda's birthday party. But yeah, he was nice. I just can't wait to see who he brings this time." Rose corrected.
The tradition of making bets was a fairly new one. It started last Thanksgiving when Amelia decided to have a little fun with her brother. Well, fun that he didn't know about, and Rose was the best person to bet with.
It all started two years earlier when Blaine transferred to NYU to finish his two degrees in Music Theory and Psychology. Something about Greenwich Village had turned him into somewhat of a man-whore. From then on, Blaine had brought a new date to every family party thrown by the Anderson's. New party, new guy. He was famous for it. And with a family the size of the Andersons, that's a lot of guys.
Now, they were there at their younger cousins' Alice and Kieran's sixth birthday party placing their bets.
The loud high-pitched nasally shriek of cousin Angie announced Blaine's arrival: the moment of truth.
"Here we go." Rose remarked as she took off toward the foyer. Amelia followed behind her and pushed her out of the way so that she would be the first to see Blaine's new arm candy.
Next to Blaine was a pale-skinned, rosy-cheeked boy with a smile that seemed to light up the room. He was taller than Blaine, as usual, with a good five inches on him and perfectly coiffed chestnut brown hair. Amelia had lost her end of the bet. He wore a navy blue blazer-sweater thing and black jeans so tight Amelia knew Blaine must have been using all his self-restraint from peeking at his legs and ass.
"Meil Worm!" Blaine called out, pulling his younger sister into a hug. "How's my favorite sister?"
"I'm your only sister. And I'm good Bumble Blaine!" She ruffles his curls then leaned to his ear and whispered. "Who's this one?"
Blaine huffed and led Kurt forward. "Amelia, Rose, I'd like you to meet Kurt." He shook hands with Rose then pulled Amelia into a hug. God he smells good, Amelia thought. She caught a glimpse of his eyes. Blue-green. Yes! Rose had lost too!
"It's so great to meet you! Blaine never shuts up about his little sister!" Kurt chirped. Sweet talking isn't gonna get you anywhere honey, Amelia thought.
The night continued on as most parties do. Aunt Bridget had gone above and beyond with the circus theme, hiring a clown, renting a bouncy slide, cotton candy and popcorn makers, a fire-eater, a tight-rope walker and a petting zoo.
Children were scattered everywhere, the thirteen younger Anderson cousins and the twins' friends included. It was hard to take a step without tripping over a tiny body or stepping on various toys. The adults stayed in their own ground ousted on lawn chairs, around table and throughout the house; they had staked their territory in the living room, with the woman on one couch, the men on the other.
Kurt had been taken in by the Anderson mothers and fit in very well. They talked fashion and Broadway musicals, (Kurt was a musical theatre major), though he did talk with the men for a little while. They discussed city life and Uncle Shane told a couple embarrassing stories about Blaine as a baby.
Kurt Hummel had one of those infectious smiles and Amelia could tell exactly why Blaine picked this one. His laugh was contagious and he was so easy to talk to. There was never an awkward silence or remark that made stuck-up Aunt Holly roll her eyes. This guy was perfect, basically. Amelia knew she'd remember him. He was even given the coveted role of presenting Alice and Kieran with their cake while everyone sang happy birthday, which Kurt sang beautifully.
Amelia actually found herself dreading their goodbyes at the end of the night.
He pulled her into a tight hug, kissed her cheek and said "It was great meeting you! I'll see you again soon!"
Amelia just replied with a goodbye, knowing she would never see Kurt Hummel again. What a shame.
As Blaine and Kurt drove away, Amelia waved until they turned the corner and were no longer visible.
He was one she'd remember.

The church ceremony for Collin's communion was the most insipid ceremony Amelia had ever gone through. She sat there thinking of how jealous she was of Blaine, who didn't have to sit through this show of impatient second graders in ill-fitting suits and gaudy, puffy white dresses. But since Mom was Collin's godmother and Amelia still lived under her roof, she had to go.
The second it ended, Amelia rushed outside for some fresh air that hopefully wouldn't be contaminated by the stench of hyperactive children. She was suddenly surrounded by dozens of eight year olds who, although they were dressed like angels, bounded out shrieking like miniature Satans. Collin was one of the last out and was just as out-of-control as all of the other children. Trying to get pictures was an impossible task and Aunt Holly had just given up. They headed down the street to the restaurant where Collin's party was to be held and Amelia couldn't wait to finally see her cousin again for the first time since the twins' birthday.
They lived only an hour away from each other, Amelia's family in Brooklyn and Rose's in Long Island. Though the distance was a factor, they continued to be best friends their whole lives. With the amount of family events, they saw each other often and texted nearly every day. Neither had a sister (Rose was an only child and Amelia had only Blaine and Cooper) so they became almost like sisters.
They arrived and Rose was the first one at the front door of the restaurant, which was rented out for the whole family. She was followed by Alice and their cousins Danny, Lily and Nicole. The restaurant was already filled with people and everyone 'Ahhh-ed' when Collin entered in his suit.
Blaine, of course arrived late. Amelia watched out for the familiar sight of his navy blue Mini-Cooper. The second it pulled in, Layla and Rose ran outside to find out who would win the bet. This time it was whether he wore glasses or not.
Blaine got out of the car and flashed them a smile and wave. He ran around the other side of the car and, like a gentleman, opened the door for this party's arm candy. The boy hopped out of the car and waved at Rose. Amelia had turned around to swat a fly when she felt Rose grab her arm.
"Amelia, I'm not wearing my glasses, is that...?" But Rose didn't have to finish. Amelia gasped.
It was Kurt.

Please, please update asap! This is so good! It'd be so cool if this time the game turned around and it's Blaine who is going to have a hard time trying to not be swept in the tide of Kurt's boyfriends. But maybe you already have a better idea, so idk, I'l just take gladly whatever you offer :)
Thanks so much for the response! I'll keep that idea in mind, although I already have most of the fic written! Thank you for reading too!
PS: I would never have guessed this is your first fic if you hadn't said so!
Oh, that's even better , we can get updates quicker!
