"Kurt!" Blaine called from the couch in their living room, a brown leather book resting in his lap.
"Yes, honey?" Kurt asked as he walked into the doorway. He paused when he noticed the album that held countless memories between the two.
"I found our book," Blaine announced, smiling warmly at the bound case. His fingers gently grazed the indentation on the cover, and Kurt strutted over to sit next to him.
"Can we look through it again?" Blaine questioned, putting on his best puppydog eyes he could muster at this age.
Kurt rolled his eyes, crossing his legs. "Blaine, we just looked at it last night when we said goodnight to Allison!"
"Yes, but Kurt..it's our book." Blaine announced, pouting at Kurt's resistance.
"I know it is, and I know exactly what you're going to say next. Oh, it's 'tradition, Kurt!' and 'You can't jinx it, Kurt! We swore to always look inside when one of us wanted too!' I've heard it every single time, Blaine. I've seen this book more than I've seen myself naked." He deadpanned, getting up briskly.
Blaine rose an eyebrow, smiling warmly. "Oh?" He winked.
Kurt nudged his shoulder playfully, turning to walk back into the kitchen. "Now's not the time, dear. What do you want for dinner?"
Not answering, Blaine stared back down at their special book. It was symbolic of their relationship, a diary that both of the men had started right after their wedding, 8 years ago. Together, they jotted down every memory they encountered thoughout their teenage years and stretching to the birth of Allison. Mainly so they would have tons of stories to tell their childen, in case either of them ever forgot. It was like their own storybook. From first date to first kiss, all the way up to their marriage, they placed pictures and little captions on every page. The book was filled a little less than 5 years ago, and that is when they decided to end it. Luckily, it was right before their daughter was born, the last entry was the news of Allison's birth. It included a picture of Blaine and Kurt's reaction when they heard news that Rachel, their best family friend, had gone into labor. In the back of the book was a tiny little baby photo of Allison, right after she was cleaned up from birth, resting in the middle of the hardback page.. It was almost like destiny, the perfect timing of ending and new beginning of their daughter's life. 400 pages long, Blaine and Kurt would retell the stories of their past to their young daughter, showing her every wonderful journey they had experienced. It was an odd tradition, but it stuck right away. Allison had instantly become enamored with the book, fascinated at her fathers younger lives. In fact, she had prefered the stories more than traditional fairytales. Fairytales were pure fiction, flooded by imagination that could never possibly exist and designed to make you smarter and better people, pointless morals that would be common sense. Even though every member of the Hummel-Anderson family adored fairytales and their cute storylines, they believed that the real happy endings occured in this World. Each life was carefully spotted with hard times to make up for the greater, fantastic memoies you would encounter later on.
And that is what Allison Hummel-Anderson grew up learning, that sometimes, happy endings aren't always a concept of imagination. They chose to surround Allison with the harsh truth of the World, refusing to hide her with fake movies and false bedtime stories. And throughout this life, she would be pained with tragedy many times, only to be fixed with gorgeous rays of sunshine.
Because happy endings are very possible. Just ask two men: Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson. The couple that pushed through the worst of pasts, treacherous points of life that seemed worthless, and depressing states. But always, no matter how severe the case may be, if you want something or someone bad enough...you must never stop fighting.
"And that's the end to our story," Blaine finished, smiling down from the chair placed in Allison's pink, fluffy bedroom.
The absolutely stunning 12 year old girl sat up, appreciatively grinning at her father. "It was a great story, indeed." She smiled, running over to sit in her dad's lap.
"Wasn't it? I don't think I'll ever forget how lucky we were-, are." Blaine said, wrapping his arms tightly around his daughters waist.
"Do you think daddy is watching over us right now?" She wondered, staring up at the ceiling. Tears pained to drip from her eyelids, but she refused them to fall down he cheeks.
"I think so, baby." Blaine whispered, smiling up at the ceiling toward 'Heaven'.
