Kurt shrieked as soon as he saw Blaine fall to the floor with a knife lodged into his thigh. Cooper was rushing to Blaine's side, shouting words at Kurt that he couldn't make out. The World was almost frozen, like moving at the slow pace of a turtle. The sounds of the fast-pacing action around him was slurred to a loud beeping noise he didn't understand.
In a few short seconds he understood everything that was going on. Blaine snuck up on Kurt, Kurt used his knife-throwing skills to attack Blaine. Why was he so stupid? Why did he throw the knife?
He panicked. It wasn't on purpose. Not at all, he loved Blaine already.
"KURT WHAT THE HELL!? CALL 911!" Cooper's frantic scream rang in his ears as Kurt moved his way to his pocket, shaking violently. He felt like a murderer. Like a criminal, a convicted felon. He hurt Blaine.
One of the newest person's in Kurt's life, but suddenly one of the most important.
"911 what's your emergency?" The operator asked.
Kurt hesitated, he couldn't find his voice. He started tearing up and every single ounce of tears he had bundled up inside, fell from his eyelids.
"I-I I NEED AN AMBULENCE, P-Please.. Get an ambulence.." Kurt managed to squeak out between sobs, his heart pounding in his ears and his body fighting to stay upright as he spoke.
"Right away, sir." The operator hung up immediately.
Kurt felt the panic boiling in his veins as he saw Blaine clumped on the floor, a large pool of blood coming out of his leg. He was still awake though, slowly trying to ease the knife out of his leg without damaging himself any further. He could hear Blaine trying to speak to him.
Kurt's head started spinning violently. He couldn't figure out where he was or what was going on around him, but he knew it was dangerous. His breath was slowly declining and he felt like his head was melting. As soon as Kurt's vision started to blur, he fell to the ground, fainting with a loud Clang! as he knocked his head against the table behind him.
**1 Day Ahead**
"Mr. Hummel? Wake up, Kurt hummel. I need to take your goddamn blood pressure and I can't if you just lay there limp like a log." The nurse rattled Kurt in his hospital bed, shaking his body gently as he awoke from a deep sleep.
Instantly, Kurt felt the huge ache on the back of his skull.
"W-What? Where am I? Where's Blaine?" Kurt immediately felt worried again. What if he's dead? Kurt Hummel, you fucking murderer.
NoNoNo, don't think like that. He's fine.
"Mr. Hummel, could you just relax for a second so I can finish this and go on my break? Thanks." The nurse essentially growled at him as he eased back into his pillows, giving the nurse access to his arm.
He tried to breathe in and out slowly, letting his heart-rate settle.
"Your friend, Mr. Blaine Anderson I assume? Yes, he's fine. He can't walk for a few days, but he'll be released in a bit. You can visit him after we're done your examination."
As soon as the news was shared with Kurt, he felt relieved. A huge weight was lifted from his shoulders. Obviously he still felt incredibly guilty about hurting Blaine.
In just one night, Kurt had slept with someone who meant so much to him in such a little amount of time, and then almost killed him the next morning.
So much for breakfast in bed, right?
Kurt had suffered a minor concussion and had to recieve some stitches in the back of his head. Luckily they didn't shave his hair (Blaine apparently told them they better not, thank god for him.) so Kurt felt at ease. He was given a prescription for some pain killers in the midtime and was to return in a few weeks to have his stitches pulled out.
He wondered just what the Hell had happened to him, he was pretty sure he was the one who caused the destruction to Blaine.
"Thank you." Kurt said as he let the nurse finish up, taking his temperature and handing him his jacket and other belongings. Kurt sighed as he braced himself to go visit Blaine across the hall.
He knocked on the door and waited patiently to gain access to enter.
"Come in." He heard Blaine say with a firm tone. He could hear Cooper murmuring to him in the background.
"Blaine?" Kurt stammered as he saw the beautiful boy wrapped in bandages, his leg elevated just slightly.
"Kurt, thank god you're okay!" Blaine looked up to him with sparkling eyes, glimmering in the dim hospital room light.
"Me? I'm just glad you're alright. Listen.. I.I- That wasn't on purpose. I had no intentions whatsoever of hurting you, Blaine.." Kurt took a seat on the other side of the room, making sure to keep his distance.
"Coop, do you mind giving us a minute?" Blaine nodded in Cooper's direction, putting his hands patiently in his lap.
"Yeah, of course. Nice seeing you, Kurt." Cooper smiled at Kurt on his way out, patting Blaine's good leg as he exited.
"Blaine, honestly. I couldn't see anyone...I-It-It was so dark. I thought with my animal instincts and not my reasonable side. I guess my history of bullying kind of taught me to think about my protection. I'm so sorry Blaine." Kurt started to tear up as he told the story, refusing to even look in Blaine's direction. He nervously played with his jacket, trying to keep his head still.
"Kurt. I know, it's okay. I'm not crippled, I have a leg. I understand, really. We shouldn't have been so stupid to leave you alone like that. When I saw you hit your head.. I thought you were gone. I know I've only known you for about a week and a half, but you really.. really mean a lot to me." Blaine tried not to ramble and kept his eyes directed toward Kurt. He meant every single word he said. He believed Kurt, because he wanted to know that Kurt would never do something like that.
Kurt was an amazing person. They made such beautiful love last night, he knew it was real. The spark they shared was true and kind, and he knew that Kurt could feel it too.
"You mean a lot to me too, Blaine." Kurt smiled as wide as he could as he felt his eyes rising toward Blaine's. They made eye contact, and the rush was amazing.
Kurt got butterflies for the first time in his entire life.
