"Blaine?" Rachel asked attentively as she leaned over the Warbler covered in a thick but not thick enough blanket on a simple cot that the shelter was providing them with. "He feels feverish," she muttered. She was surrounded by most of the glee club except for Puck and Artie who went to get them food. Even Mr Schue was there and he too looked concerned by Blaine's condition even though he didn't know the kid. The glee club didn't know this but the shelter had been going on for 2 days now. The storm said to last 48 hours or more.

They also didn't realise that this was Blaine's second night here. The nurses were particularly worried about him since he didn't eat, or even respond when someone tried to communicate and ask how sick he was. The first day he had been fine, chatting, and talking about some kid named ‘Kurt' and mentioning his show choir group but then when it came to sleeping and they tried to wake him up for some food, they noticed he was very hot and not very responsive. He managed to drink some water and have a tablet but refused to eat, saying weakly he didn't feel well.

Everybody that had been hanging around the streets, were evacuated into a shelter. It was crowded. The Government had requested more staff out in the shelters and on duty in hospitals. There was one Television in the shelter which people were hovering about to hear further news of the weather and concerns of their loved ones. There was a section for the kids so that their mothers could let them play with other children for a while as the adults stood nearby discussing their current situation in hushed voices. People sometimes sang to try and cheer up those for the Christmas Spirit.

Cots were lined up all over the place. Hot food and sandwiches were being served in one corner which is where Puck and Artie had gone to get the group some supplies upon entering the metal like building.

Blaine was not looking good.  He was shivering unconsciously in his slee. "Hang on....isnt that Kurts boyfriend?" Mercedes asked as Rachel nodded. She had spotted him from the moment they walked in as the shelter co-operator allocated them inside. He was not far from the entrance. The New Directions had been practising their songs out in a Christmas concert that had welcomed them to sing for them for the homeless when they too got told to move on into the shelter to at least stay out of the weather.

"He vomited 10 times in the last few hours, he won't eat anything… do you know this boy?"

“N-” Mr Schue began but Sam stepped in front of the man surprising him. "Yes, can you tell us about his condition? He's my brother,” Sam answered immediately who was behind Finn and Rachel.

There was another person entering the shelter and the lady muttered “In a min sir, excuse me,”

Mercedes whacked Sam hissing under her breath “Why did you say you're his brother?”

“I was homeless remember, I know what they're thinking. He could be potentially dangerous, but if he got family here, then they won't have to worry about him staying too long and won't feel the need to kick him out,”

“They actually do that?” Mercedes looked shocked as Sam nodded grimly. “Otherwise it'll get too full, and you don't know if your safe,”

Mercedes looked troubled as she mentioned “But he's not homeless, Kurt was,” Sam understood her as he looked at the ladies in uniform and whispered “Yeah but they don't know that,”

"We should call Kurt," Quinn added upon seeing Blaine but Finn shook his head. Finn had been explaining to Mr Schue who Blaine was as brief and quick as possible. "He left his home at home, itd be pointless...besides if I could do that, don't you think I would have done so ages ago?"

Finn felt uncomfortable seeing Blaine look so vulnerable after how confident and strong he had seemed when he first saw the boy. He looked like he was in pain, or so his face showed all scrunched up and in a tight expression. His hands were red and charred.

Quinn gave him a death glare indicating that she frankly did not give a damn, she was just trying to make a point.

The Nurse was watching the interaction with interest and didn't question whether or not they really did have a relation to the boy, obviously they knew Blaine better than anyone else here, an at least the handsome stranger had a name now, all the nurses had been curious about this one, but mostly for his safety of course.

“Well we definitely can't take him out in that,” Mr Schue said deciding that he trusted their judgement onto whoever this boy was, obviously his glee club knew more teenagers than he, he just hadn't expected them to know someone in New York let alone in these circumstances.

“What can we do for him?” Mike asked. He had just about as much clue as to who Blaine was as Mr Schue, but the boy looked miserable and small the way he was curled up on the cot, it was quite pitiful for Mike and he felt he would be happy to do something in order to help.

“You can all move aside and let Lopez handle this, you're lucky I've done volunteer work at the hospital, I don't know who the hobbit is,  but from what I've been gathering he's a friend of lady lips and that's good enough for me, Berry make yourself useful and get me some ice rather than staring at pretty face. Frankenteen go get some new clothes his t-shirt is so damp I wouldn't be surprised if he slept in a sauna- , Quinn, can you get a warm cloth or something that I can rinse on his forehead? Mike go get me some Panadol, or something; Tina make sure Mike finds the medicine. Mr Schue… You can keep an eye out on Puck,” She insisted.

Mr Schue thought that wasn't such a bad idea as Puck was currently trying to trade sandwiches from one of the homeless guys in line as he waited with Artie to get food who looked awkwardly unsure what to do, he figured it was just a sandwich, but Puck was adamant about what was on it. The homeless man also looked adamant, and growled at Puck.

It could be pneumonia for all they knew. The nurses were only volunteers so they weren't actually trained for diagnosing patients, they were thankful for Santana's apparent interest in Blaine because that meant they could check on the others that were ill and had no one to look out for them.

Blaine was struggling against the cold. He had been wondering outside for quite some time, he didn't have a watch so he wasn't sure how long exactly. He knew he went in the wrong direction when he found that he couldn't find his way back to the hotel. Julian had spotted a hospital that was open and had decided to go check there upon Blaine's approval, but Blaine had said he thought he saw something. Julian said he'd be back in a minute and told Blaine not to go too far but when he came back out to tell Blaine they hadn't seen Kurt…Blaine was gone.

“Figures,” Julian mumbled and groaned as he wondered which direction Blaine had said he thought he saw something.

There were 3 sections he could turn into. Should he just wait till Blaine got back?

He called up Wes hoping he could give him some direction.

Blaine wondered down the path following the screen scarf man but when the man turned around it wasn't Kurt. It was a younger kid with similar looking hair but different colour eyes and facial expressions.

Blaine sighed. He turned back around to walk back to Julian and squinted his eyes. He forgot his contact lenses at the hotel which was not very smart.

“Which way did I come?” He asked himself as he struggled to see his surroundings.

Damn it.

Why did he leave Julian?

Why did he have to be stupid not to get his contact lenses?

He was could feel muscle aches, and felt a massive chill but decided it was because of the weather.

A parole officer saw him in the street and asked who he was “Blaine Anderson sir,”

“And what are you doing out here kid? Are you stupid?”

“I'm looking for my friend, his name is Kurt Hummel,”

“Well if your friend is out here, there's only one place I can imagine where he'd be, come along with me,”

“Sir my other friends are waiting for me…”

“You can call them at the shelter, we have a phone there, nobody should  be out here, what are their names?”

 “Wes, David, Trent, Thad….”

Blaine was listing them as the man eyed him and could see the list wasn't going to end “Jesus how many of you are there out here? Look kid, I'll go see if I can find them, but you need to go to the shelter, Now, unless you want to die out here,”

Blaine thought that was a bit dramatic but he figured it was better not to argue with the man. Hopefully the others would be there.

Hopefully Kurt had wounded up there as well.

Maybe Kurt was already there. Blaine followed the guy a couple of blocks from the hotel. The guy didn't mention there was only one phone which was always being used by the staff to call ambulances for those incredibly ill or needed of better care.

Lucy grinned and hugged Kurt a second time “Thank god you're okay,”

They got in the car first before chatting further, and Max drove on towards the Milton Hotel.

“I better call Wes now to let him know, and stop smirking at me like that Max! Who is this gentleman?” She asked pointing to the man sitting next to her in the back. Kurt was in the front with Max in the driver's street.

“My name's James,” James handed out a hand and she shook it “Pleasure to meet you James, although it would have been better in other circumstances,” James agreed “Likewise,” Lucy got out her phone and called Wes.

Lucy was chatting with Wes, but her face didn't change into one of cheerfulness of which Kurt was expecting, except she was frowning as she lifted the phone of her ear to explain what was going on. “Nobody knows where Blaine is, apparently the group split up upon looking for you Kurt, and Blaine unfortunately who was meant to be with Julian got separated and now they've lost sight of him, they haven't heard from him since he decided to search for you and some police officers saw the boys searching the area and ordered them to gather up the group and head back home, but Blaine was nowhere near their search party,”

Kurt was horrified by the news as he stared out at the window. Blaine was looking for him in that. “It's already so late, I hope he gets to a shelter at least,”

When they got to the hotel, after a silent drive the rest of the way there, obviously everyone had too much on their minds. Wes greeted them, smiled shyly at Lucy who beamed and hugged him. James was chatting to David about his cheesecake who lit up when he realised he was the creator of the 10.5 out of 10 cheesecake but Wes became serious as he talked to Kurt and explained that there was still no signs of Blaine.

Everyone was waiting impatiently in the lobby expecting Blaine to show up, or Lucy and Kurt.

All Kurt could do was wait with them, but why should he when Blaine went out searching for him?

Wes saw his expression and warned Kurt “Oh no, don't you dare think about going out there in that looking for him, he'll be alright Kurt, he's stronger than you think,” Kurt sighed as Jeff and David nodded in agreement.

He paced up and down. He watched the hotel lobby TV for any signs of the storm stopping so Blaine could find his way back to them, but it was unpredictable. Kurt then looked even more miserable when he realised all flights were cancelled and looks like Burt wouln't be able to make it there anyway.

Blaine, where are you?
