The next day was bittersweet. The boys slept in late and got up at eleven. They packed their stuff up silently and shared a cab to the airport. Blaine tried to convince Kurt to enjoy the city since he didn't have to be at the airport as early but Kurt insisted he wanted to spend as much time as he could with Blaine. After getting their bags checked and going through security they found Blaine's gate. Kurt decided he would sit with Blaine until his flight, then wander over to his gate.

“You know it's not too late for me to get a later flight…” Blaine mentioned.

“I know Blaine,” Kurt chuckled. “I don't want you to spend anymore money for my sake.”

“Oh alright,” Blaine said, but his mind was forming another idea. “Hey I am going to run to the bathroom real quick. I'll be right back.”

“Hurry,” Kurt replied.

Blaine promised to do so and walked towards the bathroom. As he rounded the corner and moved out of Kurt's sight he ran to the other gate. He quickly explained his plan to the lady running the computer and she smiled. After getting everything squared away he walked back to Kurt. The boys sat there talking, laughing, and sharing a few kisses here and there.

“Now boarding flight 220,” came a voice over the speaker. Kurt looked at Blaine and his eyes filled immediately with tears.

“Hey Kurt, please don't cry!” Blaine consoled and pulled the taller boy into his arms.

“I'm sorry,” Kurt squeaked in between sniffles. “I'm just going to miss you so much!”

“I know, I'll miss you too,” Blaine responded and squeezed Kurt tighter. Kurt buried his head into the crook of Blaine's neck as Blaine whispered in his ear. “I'll text you all throughout the week and drive to you every weekend. Blaine felt Kurt nod into his skin.

“Last call for flight 220,” the overhead reported.

Kurt pulled away from Blaine but not before giving him a couple of chaste kisses. Blaine picked up his carry on walked over to the airport attendent. He gave the lady his ticket and she checked it. Blaine gave one last wave goodbye to Kurt and walked through the gate toward his plane.

Kurt watched for a few more seconds before walking towards his own gate. He had two hours to waste before his flight left. As he walked back towards his gate he saw a cute little cafe and decided to stop. Of course it wasn't as nice as the New York cafe but it was still nice. He sat at a booth in the corner and sipped a nonfat mocha. He scrolled through the pictures on his phone. There was a selfie of him and Blaine huddled together on the bench in Times Square. Blaine was taking the picture and part of his fuzzy purple gloves which were keeping him warm. There were pictures of the view of New York from the Statue of Liberty. Of course Kurt had taken a picture of the Parson's fashion design studio. Then there was a picture of Blaine asleep on the blanket in front of the glass window.

Soon Kurt put his phone down because looking at pictures was making him miss Blaine more. After throwing away his cup, Kurt walked over to his gate and plugged his earbuds in. He rocked out to Madonna and Lady Gaga until he boarded the plane. Once settled, he found himself stuck between a woman holding a six month old and a very overweight man. Kurt closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Soon I will be home and can call Blaine he thought to himself. After a few more minutes of everyone loading onto the plane one of the flight attendants came over the speaker. “Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome aboard. The plane will be taking off after these few announcements. Kurt took his earbuds out, knowing they would be going over the safety rules soon. What came to his surprise was the strumming of a guitar over the speaker system. The toon wasn't one he knew but he found the sound to be quite mellifluous.

“I didn't know what to do, when I first met you

None could be so beautiful, like one Kurt Hummel”

The voice singing sounded a lot like Blaine but Kurt figured he was just imagining it. When he heard his name, however, he knew it had to be Blaine. He started looking around desperately. He spotted Blaine walking down one of the aisles towards him while continuing his song. Kurt had a huge smile on his face and a rosy blush across his cheeks. After Blaine's song finished he handed Kurt a ticket. At first, Kurt was confused, but when he read it he realized it was an upgraded version of his own, upgraded to first class.

Kurt was speechless. Should he refuse the ticket because it was expensive? He really didn't want to! Should he run to Blaine and hug him, because that was something he wanted. Or should he punch Blaine for making him waste two hours in the airport, alone.

“Before you say anything, would you please accompany me to the first class section?” Blaine asked, catching on to the fact that Kurt didn't know what to do.

Still speechless, Kurt just nodded his head and accepted Blaine's outstretched hand. He followed Blaine to the front of the plane but before they reached their seats the entire cabin erupted into cheers. Kurt blushed like the teenager that he was and Blaine smiled. Once settled Kurt smacked Blaine's arm, kissed his lips, and crawled into his lap. Blaine made sure to get a corner section which had more privacy than the other sections. Each section was separated by a curtain.

“What did you hit me for!?” Blaine asked.

“Because you made me sit in the airport for two hours when you could've been with me!”

“But then I couldn't surprise you,” Blaine pointed out.

Kurt stuck his tongue out at Blaine and then put his head on Blaine's shoulder. He brought his knees up and Blaine wrapped his arms around them to keep Kurt from falling.

“I missed you,” Kurt whispered.

“I missed you too,” Blaine whispered back. He place a soft kiss on Kurt's jaw and held him tighter. After a few more minutes of cuddling Blaine turned on a movie. The boys watched Moulin Rouge and sang and cried together. Much to the boys' dismay the plane landed and they had to separate. After they each got home they texted each other good night.

Blaine went home to cold house. His mother in the other room and his father asking how the law schools were. Kurt went home to a warm home, telling  his father and Carol all about New York. For the next few weeks the boys texted each other and visited each other on the weekends. Blaine took Kurt to the Lima Bean and introduced him to the Warblers. Kurt thought Nick and Jeff were adorable while Wes and David were very energetic. Kurt brought Blaine to his mother's grave sight. That was an emotional experience for the both of them, Kurt with his grief and Blaine was touched that Kurt would want to introduce him. When Blaine met the New Directions it was embarrassing for Kurt. Rachel accused him of being a spy, Finn threatened to do something unspeakable if Blaine were to ever hurt his ‘little' brother, and Santana tried to hit on Blaine.

After graduation the boys moved to New York. Blaine's father had bought him a condo in New York as a graduation gift. Of course, he didn't know Blaine would be living with his boyfriend there but hey, what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him. Kurt went to NYADA and landed a small part on Broadway. Blaine got into NYU and was studying music. He also volunteered as a teacher's assistant at an elementary school.

Life was good for the boys, so good that one frosty evening Kurt found himself being led towards the park in Central Park where he and Blaine shared their first kiss. It had been five years and the boys were college graduates. They had their ups and downs but at the end of every fight they made their way back to the other's arm. As the boys got closer to the bench Kurt saw all the Warblers and New Directions. He turned to Blaine to ask what was going on but Blaine had disappeared. As he got closer he heard the soft hum of one of his favorite love songs, Marry Me by Train.

Forever could never be long enough for me

To feel like I've had long enough with you

Forget the world now we wont let them see

But theres one thing left to do

Now that the weight has lifted

Love has surely shifted my way

Marry me

Today and every day

Marry me

If I ever get the nerve to say

Hello in this cafe

Say you will

Mm-hmm

Say you will

Mm-hmm

Together can never be close enough for me

To feel like I am close enough to you

You wear white and Ill wear out the words I love you

And youre beautiful

Now that the wait is over

And love and has finally shown her my way

Marry me

Today and every day

Marry me

If I ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe

Say you will

Mm-hmm

Say you will

Mm-hmm

As the last perfectly tuned note left Blaine's lips he dropped to one knee and pulled out the most Beautiful engagement ring Kurt had ever seen. “Kurt Hummel, will you ma-”

“YES!” Kurt yelled and threw himself into Blaine's arms. All the New Directions and Warblers cheered for their friends' happiness.
