Disclaimer: I still don't own this. But I'd like to fire Ryan Murphy after these spoilers came out.

“The trial of George Anderson continues today as the son of the defendant will take the stand.” A reported said standing outside of the courthouse.

“Blaine Anderson is a homosexual sixteen year old currently residing with his boyfriend's family in Lima.” Another reported to a camera.

“We are reporting live from the Franklin County courthouse where the murder trial of George Anderson will continue this afternoon.” Another stated.

Burt was sitting in the basement on his computer reading an article about the trial.

‘George Anderson has been charged with two accounts of murder and one account of child abuse. Anderson's son has been outed as a homosexual teenager and is currently living with his alleged boyfriend's family in Lima, Ohio.'

It wasn't the article that was making Burt fume it was what people were saying in the comment section about how good of a man George was and this was completely a mistake. That Blaine was lying to get attention.

“Dad, it's time to go.” Kurt hollered down the stairs to his father.

Burt turned off his computer and headed upstairs to join his family.

They drove to the courthouse quietly just as the two days before. Blaine was staring out his window while clutching onto Kurt's hand. No one knew what was going to happen that day. Blaine and Mrs. Spencer were testifying and the prosecution would rest afterwards. Then the defense began their argument. Blaine wasn't making eye contact with anyone that day. Not even Kurt. When Kurt went into his room to try and wake him up he attempted to kiss him and Blaine turned his head. Kurt knew that this day was going to be harder for Blaine than anyone else.

When they got to the courthouse Burt immediately saw Mr. Smith standing waiting for them to try and hide them from the press. They all got out of the car and walked over to the lawyer. “There are a lot of reporters and news teams waiting at the front steps. Unfortunately, there is no other way into the courthouse. Keep your heads down and do not say a word when asked a question. Try to hide Blaine's face and walk quickly.” He told them as they made their way to the courthouse.

As soon as the reporters caught a slight glimpse of Blaine they all flocked towards the family walking in. Burt immediately started to act like a bodyguard while Carole ushered the boys into the courthouse. She didn't want the boy's faces all over the news. They were already going through enough. They rushed into the building and got situated at the bench located just outside of the courtroom.

Blaine sat staring down at his shoes as Kurt rubbed his back. As they sat there they could hear the courtroom get a little riled up when Mrs. Spencer was on the stand.

“No, I do not believe that Blaine is lying about any of this. Didn't you read the evidence report? Or go through the case? That poor kid was in a damn coma for weeks!” Mrs. Spencer shouted at the lawyer.

“Mrs. Spencer, please lower your tone.” Judge Simmons said to the old woman.

“I apologize to the court. But this man is a dumbass.”

“Mrs. Spencer!” Judge Simmons shouted and pounded the gavel. “Lower your voice or I will hold you in contempt.”

Mrs. Spencer sat back in her seat and a fake smile spread across her face. She didn't understand why the lawyer was focusing on Blaine. There were two other people involved with this. Why focus on the child? He had been through enough and Amelia was tired of hearing about how that sweet boy was a liar because he wanted to live with his boyfriend.

“I have no further questions.” He said and sat down.

“You may step down.” Judge Simmons told Mrs. Spencer.

Mrs. Spencer got down off the witness stand and headed out the back doors of the courtroom. She immediately noticed Blaine with his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands. Kurt had his arms wrapped around his back and his head resting near his shoulder. Kurt looked up and saw the bailiff coming to get Blaine to enter the courtroom. “Honey, I'm gonna go in.” Kurt said quietly. “I'll be in the front. Just look at me.” He whispered in his ear. Kurt gave him a quickly peck on the cheek before he headed into the courtroom.

Kurt went in and sat down next to his parents in the second row and waited for Blaine to walk in.

“The prosecution calls Blaine Anderson to the stand.”

The doors slowly opened revealing a nervous Blaine standing behind them. Blaine walked as slowly as he possibly could to the witness stand. With each step he looked through the crowd of people trying to find Kurt. He finally locked eyes with his boyfriend and felt a little calmer when taking the stand.

“Please raise your right hand.” Mr. Smith said. Blaine obliged. “Do you swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God?”

“I do.”

“You may be seated.”

Blaine sat down at the stand and simply stared at Kurt. He was actually scared to look away. He was terrified of what would happen if he looked at his father in this moment.

“Blaine, breathe.” Mr. Smith said to him. “You're safe.”

“Your honor!” Kevin Vargas shouted.

“Please start your line of questioning, Mr. Smith.”

“Sorry. Blaine…” He paused seeing the look on Blaine's face.

For just a second Blaine took his eyes from Kurt and they landed on his father. His heart began to race. He didn't know what to do. He couldn't just get up and leave. His father's eyes caught his. There was no emotion in them. It was completely dark and terrifying. Blaine thought, for just a moment, that his father was going to attack him right there in the courtroom.

He quickly looked back to Kurt sitting in the crowd. His heart rate went down and he started breathing easier again.

“Blaine.” Mr. Smith said. “Can you tell the court what you remember that night of the incident?”

“I was called into the headmaster's office at Dalton Academy and was told that my parents were pulling me from the school.” Blaine started. “They had packed all of my things from my dorm and taken me from school right after my last class.” He paused causing the flashbacks to start again. His breathing started to get shallow and his heart was beating fast. “We stopped at a building. I was scared. I took a couple of pictures with my phone and sent them to my boyfriend.”

“What is his name, for the record?”

“Kurt Hummel.” Blaine answered the lawyer. “I was taken into the building and strapped to a chair. My dad said some things and so did Dr. Briggs.” He looked back at his father. George had a stern look on his face. He was angry with what Blaine was saying. Blaine stopped; he couldn't say another word.

“Blaine?” Mr. Smith said after a minute of silence. “What happened next?” Blaine stayed silent with his eyes locked on his father. Mr. Smith walked closer to the witness stand and put his hands on the rail. “Blaine, you're safe here. Just tell us what happened next.”

“Your honor!” Kevin Vargas yelled.

“Your honor, I'm only trying to help this kid through his testimony. He's clearly scared sitting in here.”

“Leading the witness isn't how to do that, Smith!” Kevin yelled.

“I'm not leading him. I'm simply asking him to finish his story. He's scared out of his mind sitting only feet away from the man that beat him within an inch of his life!” Mr. Smith shouted.

“Order!” Judge Simmons cried pounding the gavel. “Mr. Vargas and Mr. Smith sidebar.” Both lawyers approached the bench to speak with the judge. “If either of you raise your voice again I will hold you both in contempt. This kid is clearly having a hard time. Mr. Smith, I'm giving you a little leeway with your questioning. Just don't give him the answers you are looking for.”

“Yes, your honor.” Mr. Smith said.

Both lawyers went back to their posts. “Blaine, take your time. We're in no hurry.” Judge Simmons told him. Blaine only nodded. He had his eyes fixed on Kurt again.

“What happened next?” Mr. Smith asked him.

Blaine took a deep breath before speaking again. “They began showing me photos of man being intimate with each other. Each time a new photo was put up they put frozen pads on my hands. After that didn't work they were heated pads.” Blaine said. He looked around the room.

“My dad and Dr. Briggs left the room after that leaving my mother behind. We exchanged words and she left. I heard her scream.”

“So you didn't see your father push her down the stairs?”

“There it is! He's leading the witness.” Kevin said.

“I'll rephrase. Did you see your father push your mother down the stairs of the building?”

“No. The door was closed.” Blaine stated. “I only heard her scream.”

“And then?”

“My dad and Dr. Briggs walked back into the room. They exchanged words and I saw my dad hit the doctor with a large board. I saw the blood and the inside of Dr. Briggs.” Blaine looked directly into Kurt's eye and managed to summon enough courage to tell the rest of the story. “My dad then stuck needles into the ends of my fingers and started the process over again. Except this time it was electroshocks instead of pads on my hands.

“He dragged me out of the building and into the car. When he went back inside I sent, what I thought, was my last text to Kurt.”

“What did it say?”

“I don't remember exactly, but just that I love him.” He heard half of the courtroom ‘aww' at his confession of love for Kurt.

“What next?”

“He took me home and dragged me into the house. He started to punch and kick me. I couldn't move. So I just laid there. After a while he stopped. Then I heard the door open and footsteps near my head. I looked up and Kurt was standing there. My dad got up from the couch and punched Kurt making him fall to the ground. He held him up against the wall. Then Noah Puckerman and Finn Hudson came in. Noah got my dad off of Kurt and to the floor. That's all I remember.” Blaine said. He let out a slight sigh of relief glad he was through the story.

“I have nothing left to say.” Mr. Smith said and sat down.

Kevin Vargas stood up and walked up to Blaine. “Are you gay?”

“Yes.”

“How long have you known you're gay?” He asked him.

“About seven months. Since Kurt and I got together.” He responded.

“What did your father do when he found out?”

“He sent me to therapy to try and get over it. And said I wasn't allowed to see Kurt anymore.” Blaine answered sharply.

“Did your father ever show any signs of violence before this year?” Kevin asked him.

Blaine immediately looked over at Kurt. They both knew the truth. No one was ever told the truth about Blaine's childhood. Kurt gave Blaine a slight nod telling him that it was okay to tell the court about what happened to him while he was a child. “Yes.” He said simply.

“When?”

“I was seven.” Blaine said hesitantly.

“What happened?”

“I said I like this boy, Kurt. I said I like him.” He said.

“You knew Kurt when you were seven?”

“Yes, we were part of the Broadway community. All the kids knew each other.” Blaine said staring directly at Kurt.

“What happened?”

“I said I liked Kurt and he hit me. He left a bruise on my arm.”

“Did anyone else know?”

“Kurt saw the bruise, but I didn't tell him what happened until recently.”

Kevin started to pace in front of Blaine making the teen very uneasy. Blaine was shifting in his chair watching the man walk around in front of him. “Blaine, aside from these three incidents you've never seen your father hit someone.”

“I'd like to know where the question was in that statement.” Mr. Smith said loudly.

“Withdrawn.” Kevin responded. “Blaine, you think you're gay?”

“Didn't we just have this conversation?” Mr. Smith spoke up again.

“He's correct. Mr. Vargas, if you don't asked a question soon I will let the witness step down.” Judge Simmons said.

Blaine began to pray that what came out of Kevin Vargas' next wasn't a question. “Why would your father do this?”

“He hates homosexuals.” Blaine answered like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

“And because you believe you're gay that why he did it to you?”

“Mr. Vargas, I'm gay. You people seem to think that a sixteen year old boy can't know that he's gay even if he is in love with another sixteen year old boy. And yes I'm gay and that's why my father beat me up and killed my mother and Dr. Briggs.” Blaine said. Kurt could tell that his temper was about to shoot off. Blaine was no longer just scared he was angry.

“Mr. Smith.” Kurt whispered hoping to get his attention. Mr. Smith turned around and looked at Kurt. “He's gonna go off. His temper isn't his best trait. Get him down.” Mr. Smith nodded his head saying he understood.

“So you say that's why?”

“No, that's why.”

“How can any of us know that's what happened?”

“My blood was on his hands. My mother's blood was on his shirt. Dr. Briggs' blood and half of his brain was on his clothing.”

“What if he was just trying to help?”

Mr. Smith stood up seeing how angry Blaine was getting. “Your honor we could play ‘what if' games all day and we'd still be here making this about this teenager's sexuality. I request a sidebar.”

Judge Simmons motioned for the two of them to come up to the bench. “What the hell is wrong with you two?” He asked the lawyers.

“Your honor, we've established that the teens involved in this are gay. Why are we continuing to bring it up? There are a lot of cameras in this room and who knows what could happen to them out there.” Mr. Smith said to the judge.

“Only looking out for your case; not justice.”

“I'm looking out for two kids. You are looking out for an abusive murder.” Mr. Smith snapped at Kevin Vargas.

“Gentlemen, calm yourselves. I have to agree with Mr. Smith. Blaine's sexuality has been brought up enough. Move past it or sit down.”

Both men backed away from the bench. “I have no further questions.” Mr. Vargas said and sat down.

“Blaine, you may have a seat with your guardians.” Judge Simmons said.

Blaine quickly got up and went to sit next to Kurt. Kurt immediately took Blaine's hand and rested them on his lap.

“Fucking faggot!” George shouted as he shot up from his seat and lunged for Blaine.

Blaine jumped in fear and clung to Kurt. The guards stepped forwards to take control of the situation. They pulled George back as Judge Simmons pounded the gavel trying to get the courtroom settled down. “Order!” Judge Simmons yelled to the courtroom. “Bailiff, please take Mr. Anderson to holding.” He said as the guards took George from the courtroom. “This court is in recess until 5 o'clock.” He pounded the gavel and left the room.

The Hummel's stood up quickly and left the courthouse. “Are you okay?” Carole asked Blaine.

Blaine just nodded at her. The boys sat down on the steps Kurt wrapped his arms around Blaine pulling him close trying to make everything go away. He just wanted to make everything alright again. To make this hurt and fear go away. “This is a lot worse than I thought it was going to be.” Blaine said.

“I know.” Kurt responded rubbing his shoulders.

Suddenly Mr. Smith came running out of the courthouse. “Something has just come up.” He said to Kurt and Blaine out of breath.

“What is it?” Kurt asked.

“I need your parents to hear this as well. Where are they?” He asked looking around for Burt and Carole.

“Blaine Anderson!” They heard Blaine's grandfather shout from behind them. “Lying on the stand is perjury. You could go to prison.”

“I didn't lie.” Blaine said back to him.

“Blaine, come on let's just walk away.” Kurt said trying to get Blaine to walk over to his parents.

“No, I'm tired of people thinking I'm lying. I'm not!” He screamed at Kurt.

“I know.” Kurt said trying to calm him down. “But they aren't worth your time.”

Blaine broke free of Kurt's hold on him and walked over to his grandparents. “You go ahead and think that I'm trying to put him in prison for life. I'm not. He did hit me. He beat me until I blacked out and woke up months later in a hospital not knowing what had happened to put me there. You can check my medical records if you like. He killed my mother because she wasn't as sure as he was in trying to make me straight. He killed Dr. Briggs because the doctor was having second thoughts. He beat me. He beat me because I'm gay. Because I'm hopelessly in love with another boy like it was some sort of crime. Like it made me different than I was when I was dating girls. I'm not any different. The only thing different is the person I have insane feelings for. You can try to take me away, but it won't work. Mrs. Cummings will help the Hummels fight until you back down and walk away. I'm never going with you. I'm staying with people who actually care about me. Who don't care that I'm gay.” He screamed at his grandparents and walked away.

Kurt quickly turned around and followed Blaine to his parents. “B!” He called after him. “Blaine.” He said again. He finally caught with him. “Blaine, honey, what was that?” He asked.

“Nothing. I'm tired of everything I want this fucking trial over with and to move on. I'm over having to fear everything all the time. I hate not being entirely sure of what's gonna happen while I'm asleep. Even when you are right next to me telling me that everything is gonna be okay.” Blaine said taking both of Kurt's hands. “I just want to be happy again…with you.” He said moving in to kiss him.

“Blaine, the cameras.” He said pulling away.

“I don't give a damn. Kiss me, Hummel.” Blaine said pulling Kurt into a kiss not caring that there were fifty people only six feet away taking their photo or filming their kiss. But right then in that moment they were both finally happy again. They just wanted to stay there with their lips connected until the trial was over and they could live their lives as they had before.

“Lips, boys!” They heard Burt holler from behind them.

They pulled away laughing and happy. Blaine took Kurt's hand and they walked over to Burt, Carole, and Mr. Smith to learn the news Mr. Smith was so excited about earlier. “What's up?” Blaine asked the lawyer.

“The judge no longer wants Blaine in the room. He's afraid of another incident with George. But he's not saying you aren't allowed in the room. He just doesn't think it's a good idea.” Mr. Smith told them.

“So can I go home?” Blaine asked hopefully.

“Not yet. We have your grandparents' testimony and we might have to recall someone to the stand. We're hoping to get this over with today. At least up until the jury has to reach a verdict.” Mr. Smith told them.

Blaine's face fell. He was so hopeful of going home. He just wanted to lay down with Kurt for three days. “Squirt!” Cooper yelled from a few yards away.

“Coop!” Blaine shouted hugging his brother. “What took you so long?”

“Delayed flights. Getting out of LA was a bitch. Not to mention after this trial started people are beginning to recognize me as ‘George Anderson's Son' and that's not what I wanted.” He told his little brother. Cooper stood with his arm wrapped around Blaine's shoulders trying to make him feel better. Cooper did make Blaine feel safe, not as safe as Kurt, but it helped immensely when he needed it. “How's it going?” He asked everyone.

“He tried to attack me after my testimony.” Blaine said as though it wasn't a big deal.

“What?” Cooper shouted. He was furious that this could happen in a courtroom. He thought that people would being tried for murder would be chained to the desk, but this was George Anderson. The man that was completely sure he was going to get off with murder and child abuse.

“After that small incident in the courtroom Judge Simmons wants to know if we want to change the charges to two accounts of murder and one attempted murder. He said changing them now might not affect the verdict, but right now it really couldn't hurt.” Mr. Smith explained to Burt and Carole. “Although, it would mean a longer trial and you may seem like unforgiving and horrible people.”

“We're horrible people?” Burt asked completely stunned. “Blaine, come here.” Burt said to the boy. He wanted to speak to Blaine alone without the lawyer or the boyfriend around. Man to man.

Blaine walked over to Burt and they walked away from the group and the reporters. “What's going on?” Blaine asked the man.

“After what happened Mr. Smith wants to know if we want to change our charges.” Burt told him. Blaine looked very confused. “He said that we could easily go for attempted murder with you.”

“Mr. Hummel, is it gonna change the punishment?”

“Burt and probably not.” Burt told him.

“But it will make the trial go longer?” Blaine asked and Burt only nodded his head. “Then I don't care what he's charged with just that he's put away for good. I just want my life back.” He turned towards Kurt. “Holding his hand and cuddling on the couch. Sneaking around parents.” He said with a cheeky smile pointed towards Burt.

“I'm gonna ignore that last comment.” Burt said smiling at Blaine. “But you don't feel like we should try and change the charges?” He asked him.

Blaine waited for another seconds looking at his boyfriend and brother laughing together while Carole stood by with the ‘annoyed mother' look as always. “No, because he's gonna miss out on watching me grow and Cooper and I making something of ourselves. He's gonna miss life because he's doing life. That's good enough for me.”

“You're one hell of a smart kid, Anderson.” Burt told him bringing him in for a hug.

“I learned from the best.” He said smiling at Burt. Burt was beaming with pride. “Those teachers at Dalton—“

“Get back over to your boyfriend.” Burt said giving him a slight nudge laughing at Blaine's statement. “But I want four hands visible.” He told the teen as he ran back over to Kurt.

“That I can do.” Blaine said.

“They need to be your hands.”

“That one's a little harder.” Blaine laughed reaching Kurt again and without hesitation giving him a passionate kiss in front of the world. After pulling away and catching his breath Blaine said, “I love you so much.”

“I love you too.”

“Time to head back in.” Mr. Smith said to the group. They all went back into the courthouse to watch the rest of the trial.

Although Blaine was told that Judge Simmons did not want Blaine in the courtroom, Mr. Smith said it wasn't an order and that if Blaine wanted to come in and finish watching he was able to. Gripping onto Kurt's hard tighter than he ever had before they both walked back into the courtroom and took their seat in the same position that had that morning. Only Kurt was sitting on the isle with Blaine in between him and Burt.

Judge Simmons entered the room and everyone stood recognizing his presence. “The defense calls Edith Anderson to the stand.” Kevin Vargas said.

Blaine watched his grandmother walk up to the witness stand and take her oath. She sat down with as much class as Blaine had ever seen her have. She seemed to be the perfect woman while sitting there. She had perfect posture and the articulation of her speech was impeccable. “Mrs. Anderson, what is your relation to the defendant?” Mr. Vargas asked her.

“He is my wonderful son.” She said beaming with pride herself.

“What is that smile for? Her wonderful son killed two people.” Burt whispered to Carole. Carole swatted him gently telling him to be polite and not say anything else.

“Throughout his entire life did he ever have anything demeaning to say about homosexuals?” Kevin asked turning around and looking at Kurt and Blaine.

“He would never.” She said astonished that they would even ask that question.

“Did you know that your grandson, Blaine, is gay?” He asked still staring at the boys sitting in the crowd.

“He's not.” She said sharply.

Kurt felt Blaine's grip on his hand tighten. He was starting to get angry again and Kurt knew that Blaine's temper was uncontrollable at times. He needed to get him out of the room. Blaine watching the trial wasn't a good idea. Either Blaine or George was going to go off again and that would not be good. Kurt was trying desperately to calm Blaine down with a couple of touches, but the look he was getting not only from Kevin but from his grandmother as well was making his blood boil.

“Really? He said he is.”

“He's just confused. He's only sixteen. He just hasn't really been with a girl yet.”

If Blaine were to go off at some point this was going to be it. Kurt quickly took Blaine's hand and almost dragged him out of the room. Once the doors shut Blaine's temper got the best of him. “Kurt!” He shouted.

“Blaine, you were gonna blow up. You were gripping my hand so tight it was starting to turn purple.” Kurt retorted. “We cannot have you going off while in court. That could be bad. You're going to stand out here and breathe until I feel like you're ready to go back in.” Kurt told him sternly.

Blaine knew that there was no getting around Kurt's orders for him. What he said was law while together. “Fine.” Blaine said pacing the hallway.

Inside the courtroom Edith Anderson was still on the stand being cross examined. “Do you have anything against homosexuals, Mrs. Anderson?” Mr. Smith asked her.

“I do not understand why that word disgusting word is brought up every three seconds in this courtroom.”

“Can I enter that as a ‘yes'?” Mr. Smith asked looked at Judge Simmons.

“Objection! Was that comment needed?” Kevin asked standing up.

“Did you hear the comment?” Mr. Smith yelled back. “Your honor I would like to treat this witness as a hostile witness.”

“You're kidding. She's answering your questions!” Kevin shouted.

“No! She's not!” Mr. Smith yelled back.

Kurt and Blaine could hear the yelling standing outside the courtroom. “You still want to be in there?” Kurt asked him.

“Yes, Kurt, I do. I want to be in there when he realizes that what he did was completely wrong. I want to see his face when they tell him he's going to prison for the rest of his life.” Blaine came back.

Kurt could see it in his eyes. That he was completely serious and that nothing was going to change his mind.

Inside the room Kevin and Mr. Smith were arguing loudly and over Judge Simmons pounding the gavel. These men were both out for blood. The reporters standing in the corner were enjoying every little bit of it.

“I ask a simple, relevant, question and she comes back with a snarky snide remark! And didn't actually answer the question. I was looking for yes or no!” Mr. Smith shouted.

“Mr. Smith! Mr. Vargas! Both of you sit down!” Judge Simmons yelled. “I feel like I'm dealing with five year olds.” He said looking back and forth between the two them. “Mrs. Anderson, please answer the last question that you were asked with a yes or no.” He said looking down at the witness stand.

Edith looked around the room seeing all of the judgmental stares directed towards her. She knew that if she answered this question completely honestly she would be the subject of ridicule for the rest of her life. However, she also knew not answering truthfully she could be charged with perjury. She then thought of Blaine. How Blaine was holding the hand of that other boy. How Blaine was saying he was in love with a boy and not a girl. She found the thought of her once perfect grandson repulsive now knowing that he was having sex with another boy. At least she assumed they were having sex because that's what she thought gay men did. All they needed was to get laid and move on to the next man.

“I—“

“Yes or no.” Judge Simmons said again. “Mrs. Anderson, if you do not answer the question we will treat you as a hostile witness and use your last statement as the answer.”

She thought about what was just said to her. She just sat there refusing to play a part in this trial. No one knew what to do with the woman. She was now refusing to answer Kevin's questions as well.

They let her step down from the stand and sit back in the crowd.

After Mrs. Anderson's testimony Kevin didn't feel like he even had a case any longer. He knew that George was going to prison no matter what he said in that courtroom. There was absolutely nothing he could do. Two eye witnesses and actual physical evidence was too much against him. He was ready to give up. After a less than helpful testimony from Matthew Anderson the jury left.

Deliberation

The chairman sat down first followed by the other eleven members. “Should we take an initial vote?” He asked.

“Do we need to?” A woman sitting at the other end of the table asked. Everyone looked at her. “Aren't we all thinking the same thing?”

The twelve members looked at each other. They all thought he was guilty. “Alright. So it's unanimous?” They all nodded in agreement.

Knowing that the deliberation was not going to take long most of the crowd and reporters sat in the courtroom waiting. Kurt still had Blaine waiting in the hallway.

“Please, Kurt.” He pleaded.

Burt poked his head out into the hallway. “Jury's back.” He said and disappeared back into the courtroom.

“Then let's go.” Kurt said taking Blaine's hand. “But I'm pulling you back on here if you start to squeeze my hand in anger.”

“Deal.” Blaine said. They walked in and sat down next to Burt. Blaine sat on the outside so he could see his father's face and his grandparent's when the verdict was announced.

“Chairman, please read to the court your findings.” Judge Simmons said.

The chairman stood with a small piece of paper in his hands and read from it. “George Anderson, on the charges of two account on murder and one account of child abuse, this court finds you guilty.”

The reaction that came from the Andersons was exactly what Blaine had expected. Matthew just sat there. Edith began to cry. And George was beginning to turn bright red in anger.

“George Anderson, since this court has found you guilty on all counts it sentences you to life imprisonment without parole.” Judge Simmons declared. “This court is adjourned.” He pounded the gavel and left the room.

The bailiff started over towards George as Kevin was beginning to leave the area. George pushed Kevin to the ground and went for Blaine again. Burt quickly stepped out in front of the boys in attempted to shield them.

“You fucking faggot! Homo! You've ruined everything! You killed your mother! YOU DID!” He screamed. “You killed her!”

It took three guards to put the handcuffs back on George.

The family left the room and headed back for the car to go back to Lima. As soon as they stepped out of the courthouse the reporters swarmed.

“Blaine!” One yelled catching the teen's attention.

“Don't say anything.” Burt told him.

“Are you at all upset that your father's in prison?” Another shouted.

“Blaine will not be answering your questions.” Mr. Smith stated. “We are pleased with the outcome on this trial though very upset that it had to happen in the first place. Hopefully Blaine and his guardians can get passed all of this and live happy lives from here on out. No further comments.” He said and ushered the family out of the mob of cameras and screaming journalists. “You're done, kid.” He said to Blaine.

“Thank you so much, Mr. Smith. I know that in the beginning we didn't really get along, but thank you.” Blaine said to him.

Mr. Smith quickly left the area and got into his car. Burt and Carole gave Blaine a hug and headed off to the car and left the boys to say ‘goodbye' to Cooper. “You gonna stick around?” Blaine asked his brother.

“Maybe for a few days. Before the school year starts you two need to come out and live it up in Los Angeles for a few days. Disneyland and Malibu. I'd love to have you out there.” Cooper told them.

“That actually sounds amazing.” Kurt said excitedly. “You think we can get the parent's permission to fly to California by ourselves?” Kurt asked Blaine.

“After this? It won't be hard.” Blaine said.

“You're always welcome.” Cooper said to his little brother before he hugged him. “I love you, Squirt.”

“I love you too, Coop.” Blaine said. Kurt just stood there watching them.
