Monday morning, Blaine woke up happy for the first time in a while. He didn’t understand why until he remembered the reason to why he was so happy the day before too.
“Oh yeah,” he said to himself, smiling as he got out of bed.
His parents seemed to have noticed that he was a little happier as well, which calmed their nerves down a bit. Little did they know that the reason he was so happy would probably explode their nerves into little pieces.
Sure, Blaine saw a few guys in the past, but he never introduced them to their parents and didn’t ever plan to. Not even as friends. Maybe, though, one day they can meet Kurt and see how amazing and kind he is. He would have to tell them eventually; they would be confused as to why he never married a smart, pretty girl from a wealthy family, since that is their plan for him. They’ve had a plan for his future for a long time now, and ever since he started dressing differently and getting into a few bad situations, they’ve gotten worried that their plan won’t work.
But it will, kind of. He will go to university somewhere, get a good job, and marry someone nice and attractive and smart. It, unfortunately, will not be a pretty girl though. He couldn’t imagine their reaction when they find out that he’s gay, and he wishes he never had to.
Back to happy thoughts. Blaine rushed out of the house, giving a chipper ‘good morning’ and ‘have a nice day’ to his parents, and headed to the Lima Bean. He would imagine that Kurt is going to be there, considering he would need to have tones of energy for the first day of school. He told Blaine before leaving after their date – aw yea – that he has some kind of routine he does the day before big events, so he wouldn’t have been at the Lima Bean yesterday – something about no communicating with anyone so that he didn’t get too stressed out. But he didn’t say anything about today. Blaine realized then that he didn’t have Kurt’s number. He is amazing at taking anything from anyone without them noticing, though, so he’s sure he could get it and text himself from Kurt’s phone in a reasonable amount of time. Although, Kurt’s jeans may be a difficult task to get into.
He grinned and slightly blushed at the thought of getting into Kurt’s pants; even if the idea of it wasn’t meant to be sexual, his mind definitely wandered in that direction. He’s a teenage boy; it’s not bad for him to think things like that. Especially when seeing Kurt in skinny jeans.
Best sight ever, he thought, walking into the Lima Bean. He didn’t see Kurt there yet, so he decided to order his medium drip and sit down at ‘his’ seat. A few minutes later, he saw Kurt walk in through the front doors and smile when he saw Blaine, Blaine smiling back.
“You took my seat,” Kurt accused.
“Technically it’s my seat now,” Blaine responded, flashing Kurt his signature grin.
“It’s too early for this,” Kurt groaned with a playful smirk on his face.
“Go get coffee.”
“Maybe I will.”
“Don’t worry,” Blaine started, “I’ll save your seat.” He said, winking and putting his feet up on Kurt’s chair across the table. Kurt just walked towards the line, giving Blaine a playful slap as he passed by. Blaine swiftly and unnoticeably grabbed the phone out of Kurt’s jacket pocket as he passed, and before he came back, quickly found his name in Kurt’s contacts (he put himself in as ‘sex god’ and was surprised Kurt hadn’t changed it yet), and typed a quick message to himself, deleting the text from the outbox in Kurt’s phone before being done with it. As Kurt walked pass him again, putting his coffee down on the table, Blaine slipped it back into the same pocket and silently congratulated himself on his amazing success.
“So are you excited about the first day of school?” Kurt asked Blaine enthusiastically
“Not really,” Blaine replied half-heartedly. He knew, as the person he was now, he shouldn’t be excited at all. There was still a part of him from the past, though, that couldn’t be more excited.
“Well I am! Especially because I will get lots of solos this year, no matter how many five foot tall dwarfs stand in my way!”
“I’m guessing you’re talking about Rachel?”
“How did you know?” Kurt asked sarcastically, grinning at Blaine. He still had a giddy feeling inside of him whenever he looked at Blaine; he couldn’t believe that this boy took him out on a date and kissed him two days ago. Now they’re sitting inside of Kurt’s favorite coffee shop, having a nice conversation. Unfortunately, the conversation is short-lasted; they only had time for five minutes of chatting before they had to leave.
“We better get to school,” Kurt nudged Blaine’s foot, and Blaine caught Kurt’s foot between his.
“Can’t we just stay here and drink coffee and talk all day?” Blaine whined. Kurt just smiled, shook his head, and got up to start walking outside. “Okay, okay!” Blaine said, following behind.
Once Kurt opened up his door to get into his car, Blaine took his hips and spun him around, pinning him against the back door.
“If we both drove really fast, we’d have time right now for a five minute make out session,” Blaine gave Kurt a cheeky grin, his voice gravelly. Kurt wouldn’t mind doing that at all, but being hard in these jeans wouldn’t give him a good start to his day. So, he pushed Blaine away with a finger and a “no”.
Blaine gave Kurt a tiny frown. “Aww. I’m surprised you’re saying no; you seemed to really enjoy it on Saturday,” he commented, winking at Kurt, and Kurt blushed and gave Blaine a timid smile. Blaine’s expression softened, and he gave Kurt a quick peck on the lips before saying goodbye and heading over to his motorcycle.
After being happy for half of his drive to school, Blaine’s mind suddenly comes to a realization: what if someone saw them? What if a friend of his father’s looked over and saw Blaine kissing Kurt, another boy, and told his parents? He wished his parents would support his lifestyle, and a tiny part of him still held on to hope. He was fully accepted by his friends; they didn’t care if he was gay, he’s still ‘the same Blaine’. Maybe he would tell his brother first; his brother could help him out in telling his parents, and would probably be more accepting.
He drove a little bit faster, not wanting to be late. As he pulled into his regular parking spot outside of the main entrance, there were a few stares given to him; most people haven’t seen his new look yet, and were surprised to see such a big change. He was wearing his Dalton uniform, but his white button up shirt wasn’t tucked in like usual, and he had his leather jacket on. He also had the lip ring which was new; today it was navy blue with little red spikes on the ends to match his uniform. His friends Wes and David also gave him a puzzling look as he walked through the front doors, but it quickly changed to content as he got closer.
“Blaine!” Wes yelled, running up to him. “How are you? You looked different.”
“What did you do this summer?” David piped in.
“I heard you did a lot of partying, I hope you’re being safe.”
“What do your parents think?”
“Oh, and how’s Kurt?”
“Who’s Kurt?”
“His new lover.” Wes turned to David and explained that, taking a break from the questions. David turned to him, his mouth agape with a hint of a smile. Before either of them made another sound, Blaine knew it would be another vast amount of questions given to him. David continued that;
“Ooh. How did you two meet? Is he attractive?”
“How did your date go?”
“Wait, you actually took a guy on a date?”
“Guys, whoa!” Blaine interrupted the interrogation. He gave them a brief summary. “I’m good, I did a lot this summer, including, yes, tones of partying, and my parents aren’t exactly pleased with my look. I’ll give you more details when we get to class; you guys both have first period English, right?”
“Yep!” They both replied. Wes wasn’t sure if he was avoiding the conversation about Kurt, but he wasn’t letting Blaine get away that easily. “So… Kurt?”
Blaine automatically smiled; he seemed to do that whenever he thought about Kurt. “Yeah, he’s incredibly hot, and we met at the Lima Bean a week ago. He’s witty and sarcastic, which is awesome, and I did; the date went very well.” Both boys were looking at him expectantly, almost as if they were reading his minds and wanted him to confirm it. “We kissed.”
Both boys gave him high fives, and David said: “Get some!”
Blaine laughed, slightly blushing. “You guys are ridiculous.”
“Obviously,” Wes grinned, “But seriously, way to go!”
“I’d say the date was incredibly satisfactory,” David agreed, trying to sound formal.
“It was better than satisfactory,” Blaine corrected.
“We need details; my girlfriend likes romantic dates, and you seemed to be successful,” Wes said as the 5 minute warning bell rung.
“I’ll let you guys know in class,” Blaine repeated, waving at Wes and David before heading over to his locker. As he opened it, he wondered how the rest of the Warblers would take his sudden change in fashion. Hopefully it wouldn’t bother them; he was, after all, their lead singer. He began walking to class, and his new friends Mark and Rob nodded at him as they passed by. They weren’t warblers, and they were some of the most known trouble makers at Dalton Academy. Blaine also wondered what his Warbler friends would think of him befriending the bad kids at school. He couldn’t worry about that know – he had to focus in class.
Or, he thought happily, he could think of a next date idea for him and Kurt.
