And this one time, my mother made me play cricket in the village vs. estate annual match and instead of running forwards and backwards I ran left to right...the village won.' Blaine was telling Kurt about his family and the estate whilst he was getting ready for breakfast. ‘Oh that must have been awful.' Kurt laughed as he started combing through Blaine's hair, ‘Your hair is so curly! How d'you tame it?' Kurt asked running his hands through it. ‘I use ungodly amounts of wax.' Blaine stated- he was rather proud of how he made his annoyingly curly hair perfectly slicked back. ‘I seriously hate my hair though. You've probably never been told this but you're really good at head massages.' Blaine joked at Kurt kept playing with his hair. ‘Why thank you Mr Anderson.' Kurt joked. It was amazing how they bonded so fast and felt comfortable with each other.
They continued talking for another hour until there were three knocks at the door, ‘Urm excuse me Mr Anderson,' It was Mr Jones the head butler, ‘Your parents have asked me to remind you that breakfast is an hour later than usual. Oh I didn't see you there Kurt, it's nice to see you urm getting along with Mr Anderson.' He finished. Blaine really disliked Mr Jones- he was the very definition of supporting family values and that's one thing Blaine couldn't stand. ‘Thank you Mr Jones.' Blaine said becoming increasingly annoyed with him, ‘Is that all?' Mr Jones must have sense the resentment in the room as he began to hesitate, ‘Actually Sir, you have to meet Miss Winters at the train station this afternoon for your weekend together.' And with that, Mr Jones left the room. ‘I can't believe I forgot that that was today. This is not going to be fun.' Blaine complained looking out of the window across the estate. Blaine turned around to find Kurt looking incredibly uncomfortable, ‘If you don't mind me asking, who's Miss Winters?' Kurt asked nervously fidgeting with his sleeve again. ‘Penelope? Oh she's my fiancée.' Blaine casually said as if it didn't matter to him- which of course it didn't, ‘She means nothing to me and it's not like I'm ever going to marry her so...' Blaine finished indicating to his plans which had told Kurt before. ‘So how do you feel about her coming this afternoon?' Kurt asked trying to find out how Blaine really felt about all of this. ‘It'll be okay I mean I've seen her twice a year for a weekend of bonding since I was ten. It's all I've ever known and quite frankly, if all goes to plan, then this will be the last time I have to do it.' Blaine stated determinedly- he was going to get out of this family if it was the last thing he did.
Kurt left Blaine as he was putting socks on- he could manage from then on- and made his way downstairs for breakfast with the rest of the staff. ‘Morning Kurt.' Albert, one of the butlers, greeted as he walked in. ‘Hello Albert. How are you this morning?' Kurt asked rather formally. ‘I'm good thanks, you?' The taller boy replied. ‘Yeah I'm fine thanks.' To tell the truth, Kurt was more than fine- he was great. He was getting along with Blaine and the other staff didn't seem so bad. This is going to be nothing like his last work place. Albert and Kurt kept talking over their breakfast of porridge until Mr Jones walked in for their ‘staff briefing'. ‘Today the Winters are coming for their biannual retreat here at Turvey so you'll all need to be working hard. Also, it's Kurt's second day here,' Mr Jones said signalling to Kurt, ‘So he'll still need some guidance around the estate, I trust Albert has been helping you, Kurt.' He said expecting a response. ‘Oh yes. Albert has been very helpful and so have quite a lot of you. Thanks for making me feel so welcome- all of you.' Kurt thanked. ‘Well off to work.' Mr Jones ordered after a few moments of silence. Just as Kurt was about to leave to room, a man who Kurt guessed was about five or ten years older than himself, jumped in front of him, ‘I'm Charles, I don't think we've met.' The man said holding out his hand. Kurt shook it precariously, ‘I'm Kurt.' He replied not really knowing how to respond. ‘I'm just going to be blunt here, I've heard some rumours about you and I urm just wanted to know if they were true.' Charles said simply obviously not really caring about how Kurt responded. Kurt was outraged that not only news spread so quickly but how Charles acted about it, ‘Yes they are true but I'd much rather you keep out of my private life thank you very much. Now if you don't mind I have to go.' Kurt replied sharply and made his way towards Blaine's room which he was meant to be cleaning all day. However, before he even reached the end of the corridor Charles had caught him up, ‘Wait Kurt. I didn't mean to upset you.' Charles shouted as he ran up behind Kurt and grabbed his arm. ‘Then why did you want to know?' Kurt demanded steely- he was not going to let some butler upset him. ‘Look Kurt. I wanted to know about whether you were gay or not.' Charles was whispering now, ‘Because I am too. Most people know but I didn't want to be the only one.' Kurt was kind of relieved that this was the reason not only because somebody else understood what he was going through but because he knew that he wouldn't be treated badly. ‘Yeah I am. I'm happy I'm not the only one too.' Kurt replied awkwardly. ‘See you around, Kurt.' Charles said with a smile as he walked off. This was going to be very interesting, Kurt thought to himself as he walked into Blaine's room. But what he saw when he entered the room he was not expecting. Blaine was sobbing into a pillow.

Yay Blangst! The whole alternative history thing is interesting, with Kurt and Charles talking about being gay so easily, relatively. Something to think about though, smaller paragraphs might help with flow. Looking forward to the next part!
